Built a lot of dragsters in the 60’s when I would watch the real thing on Saturday morning, I think on the wide world of sports! Brings back memories. Great looking build, it was FUN.
Wide World of Sports on Saturday afternoon ! Yes we would watch for drag or stock car racing. Only 4 or 5 times a year...the big races. Great memories . 👍👍😏🇨🇦
Your "wheelie bar" is actually the push bar, these cars don't have wheelie bars or an electric on board starter. LOVE YOUR VIDEOES!!! Thank you for taking the time!!!
It's great to see these old kits brought back I remember building that one as a kid like to get it again to do it the Justice it deserves now since I've bettered my skills great builders always Chris 👍👍
The Elephant in the Garlits kit is the benchmark of model Hemis. The separate crankshaft and pulleys with the rubber drive belt that separated the builders that could wait for the glue to set and those that could. The clear oil pan and Valve covers. And best of all it was really a nice casting with a ton of detail. Wish I could buy those as kits by the dozen. Transporter Trailer needs at least three "Bullets" under those work benches. Just a thought, you all have a nice day.
Just ordered this. Thanks HPI Guy. I had this kit when I was a kid and lost it in a house fire. Glad to find it again. I am replacing all my models that I lost. Thanks man.
I’ve been watching your channel now for a couple of years.I was helping a kid build a model funny car and realized I didn’t know how to build a car kit. I’ve always been a military guy. After watching your build it made a world of difference. I still watch your channel because it’s like coming home where one’s friends are. Thank you.
Brings back memories of Friday and Saturday nights at the dragstrip. I loved the smell of nitromethane in the early evening! Rail jobs may look delicate but they sure didn't seem that way doing burnouts or roaring down the strip. EDIT: Five downvotes from Chevy fans. Get over it guys, hemis rule!
I absolutely love your kit reviews and build video. Just one little correction: Gratiot is a street in Detroit. Gratiot Auto Parts was a legendary automotive sponsor of Detroit area racers...and their spokesperson...I am pretty sure was the incredible Linda Vaughn...of Ms. Hurst fame...you will remember. The word "Gratiot" is French...part of Detroit's French heritage and is pronounced "Grahshut"...the "a" is not pronounced as a long "a"...but more of a "ah". I started my life in Detroit and my dad's house on east side of Detroit was near Gratiot Road. Keep up the great work. Your kit reviews are like opening wrapped birthday presents and just as much fun! Thank you, Chris!
When I lived in Michigan many years ago I remember going to the Ramcharger speed shop. It was a performance dream. They had a couple different Hemi engines fully built on stands
I have a Dyno Don mercury cougar funny car that has similar fit issues but patience and building these old molds go hand and hand, awesome dragster ! Thank you!
Chris I love your model building,I am 65 and starting the hobby again, please don’t get mad at me but I text you a few weeks ago about the glue with the brush in it,can you tell me what glue it was, love your model building tips & tricks, take care,Kevin lowe
It's amazing how awesome these old kits still look and with such a low parts count. Round 2 can make a mint just by reissues with the addition of better decals and pad printed tires
Man I built a few 1/25 dragsters, funny cars and pro stock cars way back in the seventies. I also built some of the Revell 1/16 scale funny cars and a dragster or two. Kind of fitting as I lived about 30 minutes or so from Raceway Park in Englishtown.
My initials are R.A.M. and I have a credit card - makes me the original R.A.M. Charger? Anyway I dig the build. I got to watch this race in person once. Thunder Storms got NOTHING on the sound of that HEMI. Makes yur guts rattle - WOW. Again, nice build.
Yours turned out sweet love that team please round 2 bring back the 65 amt coronet ram charger going to take my polar lights 65 dodge coronet and do mine thanks for sharing this love it
Growing up in Detroit with my father being a Mopar racer I'm very familiar with ram chargers Gratiot is a street in which ram chargers is located and it is pronounced g r a s h -it I really enjoy your builds and I believe I will be using the Gratiot Auto supply decal on mine
Well done on that one mate, they are not nice to put together! The garden paint holds it all together really well.... I mean the modelling lacquers.... Dammit
I recall when Don Garlit almost had his foot amputated in his swamp rat in one of these death traps. Did you know that at least 5-7 drivers died yearly and countless others injured driving these?! Kool kit though and as usual you pulled it off again Nice job
Absolutely love this kit. I own 2 of the Ramchargers along with 3 or 4 others. Dont remember which kit it is (packed away) but I have a couple with the open parachutes included.
Chris + love the build you did this kit justest injoy your channel and great content keep up the great work Any word on when that transtar cab over is coming out I've been waiting for that kit forever never could afford it till now can't weight till you do that one I want to see what's in the box befor I get it
Good timing! Earlier today I was just thinking about getting a dragster kit. 😁 I always have liked how Chris shows inexpensive ways of completing kits. Like using regular spray paint, instead of $5.00 per teaspoon full of dedicated model paint. 💰 💰. You could even decant it and custom mix two or three colors together. 👍
First... I love your videos. I’ve used your tips and tricks many times to elevate my models. Do you have any tips for stripping paint of clear plastic parts without fogging them? Thank you from a fellow Sconnie!
I love watching ur videos so much they are awesome. Just wondering using the Rust-Oleum 2× paint+primer and the Rust-Oleum 2× clear coat how many coats do u use just wondering if u don't mind?
you always seem to make the decals look so easy. I refused to do the longer stripes, would ask a friend to do them, they always seemed to want to break, maybe they are better quality to what they used to be 20 yrs ago..
Hello Chris, your build is great. I bought mine last week and today, Sunday, I'm almost finishing the thing. I must say that I'm an experienced modeler but never in my 64 years of life, had felt such a frustration. This "thing" is a pile of garbage, not a scale model. Now I can explain myself why MPC is so hated by most of fellow modelers. I will never buy another one.
woly chit i got a 1/16 scale nancy front engine dragster dad had a black version very fast ifin i know dad always had to have the fastest car need paint mostly purple an slicks luv cooter d
Is there any difference in the 3108 kit number I think the other number is 394 / 12 are there any differences in these two kits they look identical except for the pictures on the sides
