Soprano isn’t my favorite either but I think Sabine is one of the best. Listen to her sing the flower duet and you can’t dislike it I think.

@@DCBfanboy if you don’t like that, I don’t know that you can like any soprano. A soprano will never be a tenor. It’s what I like better myself. So many different talents to listen to. We can all find something we enjoy. We need not enjoy every thing.

@@V.Hansen. yeah I finished hearing it again and it was good but I wasn't thrilled :/ Sometimes I enjoyed sopranos though. One day I was listening to the radio and a superb soprano voice dominated the music. I could not weite her name though because of the speed at which the presenter said it :( Up until today I also didn't find anything special about Maria Callas (very offensive I know), and even thought she was like every soprano with no strenght in her voice and getting drowned by the orchestra every time the pitch simply gets close to middle C, but I might just not have been listening to the right stuff because today I listened to her "O don fatale" and her "près des remparts de Séville" (I know those are mezzo-soprano arias) and I was pleasantly reassured that she was up to her reputation :). Now that I think about it I don't find it fair that I literally *never* heard a mezzo-soprano or even a contralto without high notes but almost all sopranos have no low notes. So they only do half of the work ? In any case, thank you very much for your time !

@@DCBfanboy It's all a matter of taste but I think Natalie Dessay, Sandrine Piau and Sabine Deveilhe are hard to match in repertoire of this era ... but not impossible. French singers of a different timbre and style which might appeal more to you are: Karina Gauvin (French Canadian - look out for her in Rameau's Dardanus with the incomparable Ensemble Pygmalion and Raphael Pichon, with a much more resonant and quite thrilling voice) or Veronique Gens, with a quite magnificent, refined timbre but different voice, could match your expectations. Personally, I think they are all quite extraordinary singers and wouldn't want to begin ranking them ...
