Just unboxed mine. No major joint issues. Double-knees are crowded by the kneepads but I don't need the full double-joint personally. Head came off easily, removed the poncho... a cloth poncho would be neat as a third-party (fourth-party?) upgrade. Hands swapped OK, weapons pegged OK. The hat was an issue, with a loose fit... I had to use some hot water for a minute then put his hat on warm to get a more snug fit. And yeah, had to pop the upper torso to flip the belt. Re: "use a hair dryer" ... yes, sometimes you have to. Or sometimes a figure arrives super warm and needs to acclimate. This figure spent what, a month on a boat plus time on a dock, in various climates?
Nice review of this new Bravestarr figure from Ramen. Looks great for the art design, box and figure. I have the complete Bravestarr series on DVD, good Filmation show! Thanks.
I was ecstatic for the 80's commanders, that came out from ramen a couple of years ago.based on the old centurions. Looks like they've accelerated their line. The 80's commanders are smaller and lack the details of their latest release 😂❤
Not had a bad figure from ramen toys yet the centurians, the red gullwing M.A.S.k and the aces of Aviation are awesome!! bit of heat/hairdryer on the figure will help them joints and they did do a short video about the hat staying on.
I agree with you on some things. Ramen needs to work a little harder on the functionality of the figure. No way to keep the hats on if you move him at all, and the gun and axe sheaths just fall off. Also takes a lot of work to balance him on those strangely sculpted feet.
Never heard of Ramen Toys before this video. The box has a good presentation. Articulated ponytails/long hair is common with Japanese imports nowadays. Some of the joints on this figure look similar to the ones on S.H Figuarts releases. Sorry to hear this figure had so many issues. It's understandable why you'd both be disappointed. This is the exact topic of quality control issues we discuss on the livestream quite often.
They have there own versions of the centurions call 80's commanders, there version of m.a.s.k thunderhawk call makina lab red gullwing and the silverhawks. They're expensive and a lot of them are sold out. they don't make a lot of figures.
Official is bo guarantee the QC will be better. Ramen has several things out with no problems whatsoever and it's done with love and care. Decisions had to be made. That's all it is.
Sorry u had a bad experience LP. i know ur gonna hate to hear it Blow Dryer lol. I think its so stupid as well but i guess this is the trade off for having figures exactly how we always wanted them to look. I love opening & posing the figures now and always scared at first. Allowing time for the figure to sit to room temp helps but more importantly about 20secs on those wrists & knee joints & even on those holster attachment pegs & holes on the sides. They should be ready to go, once u do that once they move fine after that & no more scariness. That's what i've noticed as of late. That figure i bet is really posable with some tender caressing. Also that's why i always play with the figures for over a week then see if my opinion on it changes & it almost always does. Applies to Mondo, Neca, Imports, Classified, Super7 even Hot Toys. Unfortunately the new way of modern figures. And lastly with every figure i usually get them into the pose im wanting them in then add all the accessory pieces, weaps etc, its a stupid balancing game lol. Try to play with it for a week then see what u think. I'd love to hear a follow up on this. Love the honest reviews guys always the best.
LPH, There is nothing wrong about that product. Packaging and graphics are great. The figure itself is pretty awesome. Don't expect everything to snap on right away. Vinyl takes some tlc at first. Once the material relaxes and confirms to a certain environment everything will fit like it should. Never force a brand new product to comply. And the snap on accessories like the weapons on the side, try the other side. Sometimes the makers are very particular on the size of the pegs to the holes. All in all, you scored a fine product. Be happy with it. Wish I had it! Nice buy! ✌
What is this review? Shaky blur cam and the review in between clutter? Belt doesn't open and they said how to do it... Maybe if he's got these clothes on, not overly stretch it? Cause sure you pop stuff out. I skipped through. From these "clips" it looks like you've never handled a figure before. On my copy: - Joints buttery smooth - head removal no problem - chest armor exchange no problem - hand removal and posing no problem - hat way too loose (communicated in our review - gun snd axe holsters pop out a bit too easy Overall a great figure, with a few bad tolerances.
A lil mounting putty will keep him standing and hold his accessories. I remember similar issues when got Silverhawks Quicksilver Ramen like new used loved how it looks on display disappointing on quality esp since they R not cheap. I think get this like new used only not full retail price. U need 30/30 he was voiced by Optimus Prime!!
