After finding out my axels we're drilled off center I made a video that primal rc happen to see. They reached out to me and sent me 2 new axel tubes AND a set of the 3rd version shock mounts because the version 2 mounts made the shock adjustment rings rub on the chasis. In this video I I stall the axel tubes, shock mounts, along with a new upgraded stainless steel servo saver with a lighter duty spring and last but not least, new aluminum body mounts on the chasis and the body.

Great video. Glad Dan took care of you on your issues. Thanks for the heads up on the 3D Instant Shine. I never heard of it. Going to order some and try it out.

It's been running great. I've had it in there for quite awhile actually. I was the first to put the hobby wing 70mm motor in the raminator. (As far as I know) I didn't before there was a kit to install the motor. I took my existing Johnny crash racing kit and had my uncle set it up on his CNC machine and open up the diameter for the motor and make an adapter plate as well. If you go back further in my videos you can probably find all of them from when I first installed the hobbywing motor

@@myrclife yup found it, Awesome, I have the Primal brushless conversion kit, for my Raminator, still have in stall it , Dan had a sale on them so I couldn’t resist lol👍

I think the kit you can buy at primal is an ok kit. It's made by fine designs. I'm not a fan of keeping the clutch though. The Johnny crash kit deletes the clutch and makes the truck direct drive. That allows you to also delete those pesky mechanical brakes on the driveshafts and just use the built in electronic brakes from the esc . I have heard of a few guys taking the springs off from the clutch and that makes it "pretty much" direct drive. My one buddy deleted his clutch springs and his mechanical brakes and the truck seems to be able to JUST use the ESC brakes like the Johnny crash kit allows you to do.(But i have not seen it in action myself, just 2nd hand info) Another thing I don't like about the fine designs electric conversion kit is the choice of ESC they provide with the kit. It's a very small ESC and they have that silly radiator with a external water tank and water pump just to keep the ESC cool. Plus the motor is water cooled too. It makes for tons of extra tubing and stuff you don't need. It also has an extra 3rd battery that runs the water pumps you have to worry about charging and stuff. They should of just put a hobby wing max 4 combo with it and not worried about that 3rd battery and water pump and water tank and radiator and water tubes. The max 4 stays plenty cool. You might have to put a fan on the max 4 motor if it's hot outside but that's it. PLUS with the fine designs kit you still have to use the reverse button to back up. The Johnny crash kit with a Max 4 combo allows you to back up by pushing forward on the trigger like a normal electric rc truck👍. That also allows you to get rid of that reverse shifting servo. The Johnny crash kit only uses the 2 steering servos and deletes ALL the other un-needed servos With that being said, that's why I went with the Johnny crash kit. SOOOO much simpler. Less stuff to go out also

@@myrclife okay well thanks for the heads up , I already have the Primal kit, I have a Max 4 for it I wounded if I can just put in the Hobby wing 540kv moter ? And take the clutch springs off? Thanks man

Yes I understood what you said that you had already bought the fine designs motor from primal. Yes you can take the springs off from the clutch and install the hobbywing motor. My friend just did that and he said it's working great. That would mean you have the non-water-cooled motor and the non-water cooled ESC so you could get rid of the radiator and the water tank and all of those hoses and stuff.

very cool man how you like the electric upgrade? Im thinking about getting a v3 having to go electric for noise etc. overall your happy with truck? That was a great ending showing it to the kiddo's

I love the electric conversion! The truck needs steering servo upgrades right away. The drive cups in the front axel should be replaced with the upgraded "Taylor rc" brand drive cups. And this is a large hobby grade rc truck and things might need worked on often so if you are not an avid handy man this truck might not be for you. I'm not saying you do or don't have the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems but I just want you to be aware that this truck breaks, it's an 80 pound behemoth and with one small jump and and you make a mistake like landing the jump while you have the throttle opened up a bit could strip a differential out or break a drive cup like the ones I mentioned earlier. If you are an avid RC hobbyist you probably already know about the care and upkeep of these vehicles. I just want anyone that is about to pull the trigger on a $3500 raminator and then buy a $500+ electric conversion from Johnny crash racing and then buy the large motor & ESC it takes to power this beast $650 (a total well over $4500) exactly what they are getting into. With that all being said.......the truck is very unique, it draws a crowd EVERYWHERE it goes, it has tons of power and is a blast to drive. It is pretty easy to work on for the most part and I am proud to own one. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend. 👍

@@myrclife thank you for the info, im definitely knowledgeable with yrs under my belt of small motors and large. I’ve raced nitro Rc in past, moto cross for yrs and margay race karts. Built my own motors etc in my street bikes and drag strip cars. Now older digging down on custom Rc builds and modifying hydraulic construction equipment it might be time for another form of rush and journey w/ fun challenges. I’ve been eyeing up the primal raminator since released now it has better upgrades and options. For electric. Giving that I leaning towards doing the electric version for rocking the neighborhood and parks without Haters complaining

You say (got even with me) like they should have sent it to anyone with messed up axle for free

I think I said (primal got in contact with me) but yes they should send letters/emails out to all version 2 truck owners informing them about the issue and telling them to check out their trucks for the possible issue
