FYI: Ramly is a brand of the burger meat that you usually can buy from supermarket and cook it yourself. In Malaysia, many Muslim hawkers they use this brand of meat to make the burgers because is it halal, and also more economy to local people, compared to McDonalds, and we can always ask the seller to make the way we like, not like McD, made and sell.
He was very honest but business like person. He probably annoyed because he had to make extra trip to come back to return the phone to you. Sometimes the next passengers they got cranky if the grab driver late to pick them up and leave bad review for them. That’s why he was unhappy
Yeah, he’s still the one who sped off before he got his reward. I used to run a business in Sydney and could spend 2 days quoting something for free and never hear back. Much worse than his little return trip
I sympathize with you. I see you only find non-Malaysian or foreigners and they don't know much about Kuala Lumpur let alone Malaysia, they just work with a permit as a foreign workforce. Locals are usually well dressed and you can start asking Selamat Petang (good afternoon) and if he doesn't understand then he or she is not a Malaysian citizen. All Malaysians know Ramly Burger because it is popular in Malaysia but not to foreign nationals who work using employer's permits.We locals can easily differentiate between locals and foreigners but it may not be easy for foreign tourists. Best of all, the majority of veiled young women are local, and they are happy to answer your questions.

@@marcoroams Easier to understand, the majority of workers at food stalls are foreign workers. This includes grocery stores such as 7 eleven, laundromats, eateries or restaurants. Even in fast food restaurants, it is difficult to find permanent Malaysian workers except for managers and students who work part time. But street vendors are citizens who sometimes employ one or two foreign workers. The majority of security practitioners are also foreigners whether in hotels, offices or malls. Malaysians usually work during the day and you can only easily find them in the afternoon when out shopping.

There are many nightclubs and bars in Kuala Lumpur and the most popular among tourists is Jalan Changkat, Bukit Bintang where there are rows of bars. You will not be bothered, there are even liberal Muslims there.
Luckiest guy alive with getting your phone back in Malaysia. I 'lost' mine after a drunken night out in Singapore. Freaked out after I woke still sitting on the sofa, no phone. Bought another cheap phone to message it, no response. Went back to all the pubs I visited in my drunken state, gave up and went home, one last check and it's down beside the sofa cushion on silent. That sense of relief you get is better than an intense orgasm! 😂

Regarding Taxi in Malaysia: Different states they run different way. Some states they use meter some don’t but charge fixed prize . There is always arguments between taxi drivers association with government as taxi drivers they pay higher license fee each year, and they have certain rules to follow, for example if they take you to the airport, they are not allowed to pick up passengers from airport to somewhere else as the airport have their taxis drivers queuing for passengers… something like that

I did not use taxis when in Malaysia as they were all rip offs (like most Asian countries) ....taxi drivers are why Grab has grown to its current size. PS - but all the grab drivers I used were friendly.

Usually u can find many ramly burger stall at night. U can find ramly burger like anywhere there is no fixed place like restaurant.Because they just open the stall like at the roadside. If u ask local maybe they know.

Almost nobody taking a taxi nowadays..even foreigners using Grab..easy and cheap..that guy must be not in a good mood..some more there's an issue just couple weeks back when a Grab customer complain on Internet that the Grab driver are so talkative and she feels uneasy..maybe your Grab driver think that you are on record conversation mode and feels uneasy to answer..by the way Ramly are just the patty widely used..its not Ramly Burger stall..earlier you asked around i do believe all of them are foreign workers not locals..so they didn't know about Ramly..maybe next time it would be better if you Google things first to make your trip easier..cheers
I think extreme nature loving empaths from the other side of the world growing up with a different culture finds it very hard to adjust in KL, and places like Dubai for example. The energy in the city can be very overwhelming, especially if you are unaware of the type of personality you have....

that GRAB driver is very unfriendly, a lot of young chinese malaysian grab driver are unfriendly but if encounter with older driver they definitely more friendly. I guess that's what sets apart from West Malaysian Chinese and East Malaysian Chinese people, its easier to make friend in East Malaysia based on my experience
husband watching - your umbrella reminds me of my early years of marriage to my Filipino wife. We are going to Cebu - she goes to K-mart to buy 30 of the short umbrellas to take home and sell. We had them for about a month and then K-mart had a sale for a dollar cheaper. My wife takes the first 30 back to K-mart for a refund so she can rebuy them. K-mart was pissed but what could they do - they just gave her the $30. cash so they didn't have to do all the paper work and reprice the umbrellas. Even in Cebu the drivers will try to jack up the price on another native and it really makes her mad. We always give at least a 50 Peso tip which should be good enough.

@@marcoroams I love my country for it's super vast array of environments though. We have rainforest, plaines, mountains, deserts, artic, and coastal areas. It's a dream of mine to visit the NWT or Yukon territories! I've yet to visit anything further than Portland and Texas though. But yeah, Canada tourism is a joke, the price for attractions are obscene. Takes a year to save for a weekend anywhere here.

But telling you that lady had good energy, I think that’s why my phone came back. Would have been about 15 mins where I wasn’t recording till he returned, the lady was literally on the phone to grab for me trying to get it back to me just as he pulled up
