I Hurt You. It's a song about extreme self-harm, either for mental, physical or sexual release. One of those songs where you find yourself singing it and suddenly hoping that nobody around you speaks German! If you want to hear Till song and sing beautifully, try Wer Weiß das Schon from his side project Lindemann. I love this performance at MSG and Schneider's expression of " God, it's boring playing this bit!! " always makes me laugh. There's a compartment built into the side of the bath to protect Flake but it does get very hot inside the bath. Great reaction fella.
One of the only things I learned to say in German from one of my best friends in high school in Savannah (a foreign exchange student) was how to cuss someone out and it actually came in handy a few years ago when I was walking my dog up on a mountain area in Roanoke, Virginia at the Mill Mountain Star and a man was riding by on a bike when my dog (a 200+ lb Great Pyrenees) darted towards the bike when he got too close to me. The guy called me something in German (something not very nice) and I automatically responded with some not nice things back to him in German. The expression on his face was hilarious!
Amazing reaction! On the surface its about bdsm but the mirror line suggests its about self harm, either physically or mentally being too hard on yourself. Their live performances are amazing. Love the contrast between the vocally harsh but completely absurd and unbelievable descriptions of bodily harm, and the beautiful, melodic refrain with the very simple, very believable words: I hurt you and I'm not sorry.
Yes, Till can sing and pretty well. Their lyrics are often surprising and multilayered, funny or profond, poetic or raw... I'm going to see them again in Brussels in augustus. It's sold out but there is always some last minute ticket !

Sometimes the translation that you had on your screen was not quite right. Especially the 2nd line of the chorus "Tut mir nicht leid" means "I'm not sorry". Rammstein always opens up a bunch of interpretations of their songs and they almost never explain, what their intention for the lyrics were. So it is up to the audience to see in the lyrics whatever they want. So one interpretation focusses on the line "Ich seh im Spiegel dein Gesicht" (I see your face in the mirror) and assumes that the song is about hurting yourself. That might be one valid interpretation. It is also possible that the lyrics are about BDSM, with a joke on the outside view to BDSM of tabloids by adding some even more absurde "practices" as they presume normally (barbwire, rodents, ...).

They are certified pyrotechnicans, but they have professional contractors making and designing their stuff. But being a pro themself opens an other world of operating and communicating with their contractors. Making anything themself would simply not work on tour.
If you react to more Rammstein always have in mind that most of the songs are criticism. Mostly about scoial or some songs telling stories about the DDR time where living wasnt the best thing.
