The Morning Star (Morgenstern) is a synonym for venus and its said that it shines especially for people in love.

It is refering to the beauty of a morning star.

This song is about himself, and maybe his mother. The genders are just changed I think. He wrote a poem called Hasslich and My mother is blind about how he is extremely ugly, how no women would ever want him unless blind or only an extremely ugly woman will ever love him and how his father told him that as a child.

The morning star in terms of religion can be either Jesus or Satan. So, she's either praying in the hope of becoming superficially beautiful or basically selling her soul to the devil for the same purpose. Ultimately though, if you look beyond the superficial, she is beautiful. Another song that gives me a reason to love the Reise Reise album the most and Volkerbäll is just outstanding.
