"Nebel (fog)" is a palindrome. If you read it backwards you get the word "Leben (life)". This fits very well with the theme of a woman's life ending because of breast cancer.
With this song, the definitive is that the woman is dying and is too afraid to tell him so leaves him a kiss to remember her by instead. Huh, I have saved this song for this occation. I tried listening to it quite a while back, was not a fan of the beginning and didn't listen more to it. It is the only Rammstein song I haven't properly listened to, but now I did, and I am glad I did. I am still not a fan of the beginning of the song, but as soon as the chorus kicks in it becomes really good and I can 100% see why people enjoy this song, the rest of the song is also great. As for the story my thoughts where always about the woman having cancer, some death illness or something because of the line "and knows that she must pass", and it's about a two people experiencing the last moments of their relationship together, and with one last kiss, and the memory of that slowly fading away the longer the guy lives without her. That's what I think of it at least after first seeing the lyrics and hearing the song. I really enjoyed Till's lyrics, so thankyou @educatedmarine for the job there!

This is the last track of the album "mutter" it's such a cool way to end the album with this track after al the super high energy of all the others, this puts you back in a calmed mood.

The homemade mv is totally misleading and just crab. "Nebel" basically is a sung poem about love, death, eternity and the afterworld. Till uses several uncommon poetic words and symbols which leave space for a couple of interpretations. Unfortunately my English is not good enough to explain the background meaning of the poem / song. Just a short example: "wo das Meer das Land berührt" (literally "where the Sea touches the Land") means "where death touches life". This is in the fog zone (Nebel).
