Guys, please don't worry about not delivering reactions "people expect". People like honest, pure reactions. Whatever you feel while listening to a song is good and worthy to express! And please - don't think "we don't cry with Rammstein". Some do, some don't. There is no right or wrong in emotions.

Oh dear, It's not a shame to cry on Rammstein songs. Honestly, I do it all the time. Simply some of their songs feel very much personal to me, I call them "intimate songs". They are like katharsis - force U to face certain things but after that U fell better, relieved :) So, nothing wrong with crying. It's a very human thing to do :)

I can see you felt very strongly during the song. It's a song that swells with emotion. Don't ever apologize for letting yourself feel a song, no matter what the reaction is. A song about a lab made creature who both longs for a mother, but also curses it's own existence. It wants to be loved, but is angry at being born.

What does make this song even more powerful is the fact that at least two band members - the singer Til and the lead guitarrist - had serious issues with their mothers. And then Til singing "Mutter, gib mir Kraft" ("Mother, give me strength") shows how important the mother is for every being.

It seems like, they could work in it. I could not do it with my mother and it happened so many times, until last month, that she blamed me for everything, so since last month, I am not in contact anymore with her. I gave her 41 years of my life, but for her I was only a slave and a bunching ball until last month. I have no energy left for it! I am rather without "family", then with and weird thing is, I really git my name in the hospital, because she did not want to have me. I also found out that I lost wight in the first weeks instead of gaining it. She gave me too less. And there where so many things happening between my birth and now, I can not forgive anymore! That's it!! I would be rather a clone, like in Till's song, that her daughter!

@@andreagruber5813 It was similar for me with my father after my mother died. I had no contact with him for 35 years - I do not regret it. You have to take care of yourself first, only then are you truly capable of caring for others, X.

@@duncanmccann2715 Thank you and yes, I agree. to be honest, since July I can feel how my energy is slowly coming back and it is so great, that I do not have to think of a "daily report". You have know idea what happened, when I did not do it. I can understand it, when the child is going to college, the first time out of the house etc. but with 41? And at the end, as I tried to talk to her, and I normally talk with people, she was only yelling at me in a way like I would be 10. I mean, what the hell? And so I decided, that is it. Thanks again and have a nice start in the new week (at least where I live it is already Monday morning). ❤

Hi there👋many thanks for this cool reaction😁👍 This song is very special and truly emotional for me. Back in 2001 when it came out, I had a ticket for the Rammstein-Show in Zurich🇨🇭to see them on the Mutter-Tour. On that day in the morning hours, my mother sadly passed away after long illness and therefore I couldn‘t attend the concert😢I still have my unused ticket in my Mutter-CD and when i listen to the song, it beams me back in time and all the feelings from back then are here again with all the tears… So thanks again for sharing your feeling with us🤘Greetings from🇨🇭👋

This Song is for all of us who grew up with a horrible Mother and can't put their feelings of Hate/Regret into words...It speaks to my Heart and fuels the Flames of Hate within me, showing me that I'm not alone with my sad Childhood. It's a perfect Fusion of Despair and Beauty - for Pain makes you ultimately stronger and more resilient, even though it comes at the cost of Empathy and being able to express/feel Love for other People.

I love your reactions. The way you two interact with each other: full of love and attention. How true your reactions are. Its fragile. Its exposed. 'mutter' is (like all art from Rammstein) multi-interpretative, it could be about an orphan, a baby born from a tube with two egg-cells ('born without semen'), but I interpret it as an anti-abortion song. The mother did not want her child to be born. She did not even name it. The baby then, with its dying breath, puts a spell on its mother. All the baby wanted was a mother: that loved him. Now he just wants to destroy his mother, like his mother wants to destroy him.

the Album "Mutter" on which you can find this song was my first ever bought CD by myself. And I heard it about several 100 times. This Song is one of the hardest songs ever performed by Rammstein. Its against in-vitro-birth but it still touches souls in so many ways - I think for women its more "painful" because of the genetic possible motherhood

This is a very strong song. I totally understand your emotional struggling with it. A son expressing such words to his mother is difficult to understand and to watch and realize what abandoning a kid can do to it, is not easy to understand. But this song shows very clearly and sort of brutal, what such kids feel if they have to experience such struggle, beeing somewhere between love and hate. I don´t know you yet and I don´t know, if you two are parents yourself, but I think, it es very sad for a mother to listen to a son expressing these feelings to his mom.

I'm not a hardcore Rammstein fan. But some songs are sooooo deep (sometimes a glimpse into the abyss) but his three times "mother" nobody else can do that. The questioning "mother" the yearning "mother" and then... well... the last "mother" is a completely desperate or a profoundly hating one. Saying the same word three times is far from the same.... at least with Rammstein (translated by Google)

I've often felt that there is a slight advantage in not having an English translation, and not understanding the German well enough to get all of the details. I can usually pick out enough words to get the gist, but my natural inclination is to focus primarily on the music. And the music is what I have the strongest emotional response to. I find the key change after the big crescendo to be particularly moving.

We have a saying in Germany which translates to be prone to tears, which sometimes happens, though I find the German version much nicer to be built close to the water;-) = Nah am Wasser gebaut sein. Nothing bad though.

Not everyone loves their parents or their mother unconditionally. My mother, now 75, idealizes my youth as good and fair. I, on the other hand, see it as loveless and ignorant. Everyone sees it differently. I am afraid of what my children will judge.

The song is about clon babies born from the test tube in a laboratory without a mother and love and how they feel when humans actually manage to clone humans. With organs and animals (sheep Dolly) we have already done it.

Like many others here, I like your reactions to Rammstein because they are influenced by things that others don't even mention. They come from a depth that others would like to have.that makes you very special. I recommend you a song from the current album, for which eis no video, but only this here with the possibility of RU-vid translation into English.The song is called "Lies" and belongs for me to the absolute masterpieces of their long history.Maybe it is once exciting to see your reaction to a song, without a distraction by images.Purer as pure.
