I'm from Brazil and I discovered this song by accident more than fifteen years ago (I think I downloaded it from Limewire at the time). I listened to it a lot, and never knew its real name, because downloading songs from limewire as a kid meant not always the song came with the correct name. Today I remembered this song while listening to other rammstein songs, and decided to ask chatgpt for some help finding it. It lead me to here, and I couldn't be happier. Call me biased, but I think this one is better. The beat and sound suits the lyrics more. It's a powerful song. Rammstein did a good cover of this song. It also may be biased of me to say I prefer Till's voice over the original. It's just my preferences though. Both versions are great in their own way.
Ghostein Groudon Aria’s showcases the emotions of the lyrics, the operatic and tragic predicament described. Till and Richard’s cover is heavier, and grittier (In my opinion on purpose, due to their style) to showcase the violence and extremity of the situation
Ария kicks ass and the original is great in its own way. This is just, heavier, darker, more like what you'd expect from Rammstein. They definitely put their spin on it, and it's excellent. Not necessarily better or worse than the original, but good in its own right.
The original is amazing, too great to put into words, but this cover is amazing too. It has a more melodic sound to it. I'm not sure which is my favorite
I think this version is much better than Aria's original. I think Rammstein's music and Lindemann's singing suits the melody of the song so much better. I think it's 100 % Lindemann's intention to pronounce everything wrong, hence the title "Schtiel". And note that when they play Depeche Mode's Stripped live, he sings it with a thick German accent as well. And his voice is simply amazing, so why argue about pronounciation?
Since Till grew up in the German Democratic Republic, he had Russian as a mandatory subject in school. I think that really helped him out with this great song :)
Wow, Till's Russian pronunciation is better than I expected, and I expected it to be good since he travels there a lot and speaks some. Cool version, very hardcore.

@amosmcelhone It's quite unfair to say that this is better than original. Aria have done a hell of a job and Kipelov's voice and Aria's instrumental fit so much better.
@DivinePonies Well, in my opinion this is better than the original. I believe that it's quite fair that have that opinion, and it's also quite fair that you have yours. It's not that I don't acknowledge Aria's work - they're extremely talented. It's a matter of personal taste, that's all.
