Love this song, it's like quiet before the storm, thoughtful, melancholic, hypnotizing in a way. Also, you guys should react to the live version of this song in 2016. Best Till Lindemann performance ever, his voice is so deep and powerful, like watching a theater masterpiece with an opera singer acting.

The song is about the loss of a loved one. I recommend a cover. Apocalyptica feat. Nina Hagen - Seemann.

this song calls back, way back to another song Lili Marleen, from either Lale Andersen or Marlene Dietrich. the theme of a soldier not coming back from the war and a woman waiting under the lantern. listen to that, and then to Nina Hagen doing Seemann with Apokalyptica

rammstein has an inredible musical range that is only be found in very few bands.

This song is about love, who will not return back to you. The tug.. that they kept with ropes symbolises "love".. they are trying to push too them, but its not possible. Because.. tug stands in sands. Very deep story again.

There is a Rammstein song which counts to their best ever but nobodies talking about. It's called Klavier. It's a very dark song with strong lyrics. Till only changed the perspective in the last chorus which led to a plot twist. He is describing two completely different things, as he always does. You know that. But in this song it's pretty heavy which makes this song to a classic. The instrumentals, his singing... 120% goose bumps. I promise. Read the lyrics, turn up the volume. Enjoy!

Like Rammstein, Nina Hagen, the "Godmother of Punk", also comes from the former GDR, but in contrast to them, she emigrated to West Germany long before the Wall came down, where she then, to put it mildly, exploded. It would be interesting to hear about her as an artist you think, in the past, not so long ago and now. But I have to warn you, Nina is a bit crazy, trained opera singer and absolutely cult here in Germany.Littel story on the edge she had an affair with the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a while, she was a bit older than him, and he still says today that she was the woman who woke him up. I can well imagine that. It would be really funny to see your reactions about this lady.I think Dominica would be very,very,very skeptical (but that´s what we love to her)

Well... I know people love this song s lot, but I am not one of them. Actually, Rammstein had a bit different sound on their first two albums. The sound from that period was much more raw, industrial and repetative. Even Till's voice was different. And from their third album ("Mutter") they started changing their sound and becoming what they have been for last 20 years now. And I don't say I don't like first two albums, actually, there are many songs on the first album that I really love, but not this song. And not most of the second album. But that's me, and I just wanted to explain to you why this song sounded a bit different. Anyway, thank you for keeping discovering more Rammstein! I am still looking forward for many, many songs. 😉🖤

Like Domenika, I prefer heavier Rammstein but for me, their usual heaviness makes their ballads all the more powerful and beautiful. Rammstein have forced me to get off my lazy butt and start to learn to speak German so they're educational as well as musical geniuses. I love the original as well as the cover by Apocalyptica featuring Nina Hagen. Till's voice is beautiful in Seeman, so different from what we're used to. Great reaction from you both as usual. 6:09 "Oomph" is the word to it? Well, try Oomph. Another band of the holy three german "Neue Deutsche Härte" Bands back in from the 90th. "Augen auf", "Supernova", "Das weiße Licht" or "Sandmann" could be a good start.

Yeah, 7:00 the weird thing about you two viewing Rammstein is that they evolved from epic to epic^2. 'We' (fans), thought they delivered epic shit in 1995+, and everytime they dropped something: it was better, even better, then the previous piece of art. 'Deutschland' was their most epic thing they ever did. Then came 'Zeit', even... EVEN more epic. To us: the line goes up, and up. But for you two: you started with 'zeit' and 'deutschland', so, the quality, the amazed, goes down.... its not 'as good' as the last things they did... but you are right: in that time: oh boy.. nothing like that really existed. It was sooo unique.

You have to take a look at the Rammstein Concert in 1998 at Berlin Waldbuehne ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hEz1JnkA4qM.html maybe there is some better quality out there. It is one of the best concerts i´ve ever seen. There are some classic Rammstein songs in it. The Waldbuehne in Berlin ("Forest Stage") has a capacity of 22.000 people and nearly every big band has played a concert there. I know "Seemann" from there and I like how he gets with the boat in the audience

The great little Scandals like "Bück Dich Live in Montreal", or the Official Videos to "Mein Teil" and "Mann gegen Mann". Actually Rammstein wasnt really happy with this video. It was just their second video and their first with a higher budget. So they gave all the power to a director and they had no influence on it. From this day on the had always own ideas for video clips. Btw as you told about their style and you said "oomph" its funny. Because there is a band called Oomph! (And that's probably the reason why they did called themselves so) and this band was technically the founders of the NDH sound and as well one of the biggest influences for Rammstein. Anyway OOMPH! never had such a huge susscess than Rammstein ... But they have also great songs like "Defekt", "Mitten ins Herz", "Wunschkind", "Unsere Rettung", "Gekreuzigt (2006"), Unrein, "Nothing Is Real", "Fieber", "Ego", "Supernova", "Niemand", 'Swallow", "Wenn du weinst", "Gott ist ein Popstar". "Europa", "Kein Liebeslied" ...etc. But from time to time they changed their style (especially since 1999 with every album) so one Oomph song from the 90s is more like the familiar Rammstein sound (to be fair it must be the opposite > Rammstein back then sounded more a bit like Oomph) during the 2000 the band had its greatest hit "Augen auf" which barley sounded like a Rammstein but way more "rocky" The funny aspect was that of course a lot of people heard them the first time back then and called them "wanna be Rammstein's" without knowing that they were founded in 1989. (Rammstein was in 1995) A lot info., I know.😉 But maybe you would like to check them out as well ... one of their latest songs is "im Namen des Vaters"

Yeah not one of my favorite songs or videos from Rammstein...I really much prefer the live 2016 version of this song, now that I have no problem watching or listening to but that's just me🙂
