I feel like the Tales episode was obviously hinting that Ranboo was a time traveler, I'm surprised people didn't instantly pick up on the "memory loss" thing

I think that everybody has also been kinda forgetting the character Ranboo played in Tales From the Smp: The Pit. I think he was called Ran? He was rather cryptic, acted weird and also said some stuff that made me at the time believe he may be a time traveler

Ever since Fundy’s time traveller line I was like 90% sure he (Ranboo) was a time traveller and after the Tales from the SMP that 90% became 100%. On the other hand, the Ranboo time traveller thing could very well be completely seperate from Tales from the SMP.

Maybe since Fundy can see into the future in his dreams, maybe off camera he saw Ranboo either revealing he's a time-traveler or finds out through some outside source, and called him "Mr. Time Traveler" cause of this

This could also explain Charlie Slimecicle not knowing where Ranboo was from, considering that Charlie's mind/power possibly either cannot comprehend time travel, or gets messed up when someone is from not only a different place, but a different time; especially since, for all we know, all of the events we have seen are leading up to Ranboo's birth! Maybe where Ranboo comes from doesn't even exist yet! This theory presents many new and interesting questions!

Your theory makes a lot of sense, but I thought the timetraveler could also be Eret because, I don’t know what stream, but the stream were Eret and Foolish were cleaning the egg stuff. Foolish set it reminded him of the wither cult but Eret didn’t remember that. And foolish has lived really really long so it could be a time Eret hade traveled to.

Tales from the smp not only teaches us that Ranboo is a time traveller...but teaches us that Techno was right all along that HISTORY DOES REPEAT ITSELF.

We not gonna talk about how slime is literally a primordial being who observed the creation of the universe and everything else up till now without being discovered for a very long time i dont know abt how op time travel is but eternal life and knowledge of everything any individual has done seems pretty op. If slime ever becomes less naive he will become all powerful

I feel like the maze was foreshadowing the arc of this Tales season, with slimecicle telling them that they were "too focused on the path" that they "didn't see the cracks that had formed", Karl might be too focused on the path of choosing a side that he fails to see the cracks in being dreamXD's time traveller.

He may be the most overpowered member on the server but waters always going to be a relavent thing

Woah, that's am awesome theory! I definitely agree with all of the points you made too. The fact that Karl and Ranboo both had memory problems definitely stood out to me as strong evidence as soon as you pointed it out. That would be awesome if Ghostboo really can control time

The inbetween is like the feeling of wanting to know the future, be it be sugarcoated. While the otherside is like the feeling of knowing the harsh truth of the future. Maybe that's just me overanalysing..

I have a few more theories connected with this one I was gonna talk about how the Enderwalk ARG disconfirms the theory that Ranboo's Enderwalk state is linked to the inbetween, as one of the revealed documents refers to them as 'the enderwalkers', implying that there's more than one. But while writing that I realised that the enderwalkers may just be another name for time travellers, and that the same fate might happen to Karl. (Note how he was acting weirdly during that one Quackity stream where Karl got mad at him for killing him, while Karl never brought that up before. Also his skin's eyes were a different colour than regularly, which ties in with the popular headcanon that Ranboo's eyes become purple during the Enderwalk state) Another theory I have is that Ranboo was the person writing the books in the inbetween telling Karl to get out. It doesn't really make sense at first, because Ranboo was already a member of the smp, and had already lost most of his memory by then. But it's time travel we're talking about here, Ranboo could've done that years before forgetting about the inbetween. An argument for this is Ranboo and whoever's writing the books writing style. In a book in the inbetween called "STOP", the person writes the line "DON'T STRAY FROM THE PATH" over and over. If you look at Ranboo's second memory book, you'll see that pages 8 to 12 say "I DON'T WANT TO REMEMBER" over and over. Which is odly similar. Another theory I have is that the Tales from the SMP episode 'The Pit' is where/when Ranboo is from, before he became a time traveller, or somewhere that he travelled to at least. Because in that episode, there's Ran. Who acts a bit weird, and tries to stay in the background. The main piece of evidence I have for this is that Ranboo's ghost is called 'Boo'. Ran + Boo = Ranboo Also, I have been saying this since last year oh my god I'm so happy there's finally more evidence.

I really like this theory, but the thing is, I don't think he chose the Inbetween. I think he chose the Otherside, because he only wanted to help people, not himself. Maybe it then defaulted to the Inbetween for Karl, because Ranboo spent too much time in the Otherside

i think I disagree that Ranboo picked the in between. I think it would make a lot more sense if Ranboo picked the Other side. It would fit more because choosing the other side means choosing people which is Ranboo is all about (choosing people). and his memory loss would make sense if he didn't chose the in between, because if he did he would have chose himself and the overseer would have help him loosing his memory.

I was never able to see the latest Tales of the SMP and now I feel very out of the loop, except for DreamXD talking about Ranboo. When I first heard about that, I freaked out for 3 whole minutes.

Also about your point of karl’s skin being black and white SunDrop First, there's the non-canonical reasons. Being a time-travller is Karls thing, having ranboo being a previous time traveller would suck the whole ingenuity out of having a time traveller in the SMP. As well as this, im pretty sure Ranboo wrote his character BEFORE TFTSMP even existed and even when it did it wasnt until Masquerade we got confirmation it was time-traveller, probably because Karl saw the HCs and deicided to implement them. As well as this, with the whole Dream connection going on with his character, I feel like another layer of him being a time-traveller would be too much, ya know? Ranboo has said himself that the concept of his character is somewhat simple, but the idea of being an amnesiac, with a connection to Dream while being half enderman and half unknown with powers plus the fact that he's a time-traveller/created the in-between/is part inbetween is honestly kinda alot. For the canonical reasons, im sure most of you know the "well then mr fucking time-traveller-" line said by fundy. This has been debunked since the line has been taken out of context. In context, fundy was yelling at ranboo before Doomsday, and said the line as a way to say "ya, well the stuff thats happened, has already happened, so what are you gonna do huh? Go back and change it?" It was fundys way if mocking him, telling him how naive he is. As well as this, in canon, karl and ranboo haven't talked much, if at all. It would be very out of the blue for the two to have this big of a connection. As well as this, people are saying that 'Ran' is the enderman side of Ranboo which time-travelled, honestly if you think about it, it doesnt make much sense, how could you spilt your body? That poses so many more questions, rather than answering them. Aswell as this, the purple smile doesnt mean "Karl is involved" Theres a limited amount of smiles DSMP members can use: :). Ranboo said his character's lore is not and will not be connected to Tales from the SMP but cool theory! In my opinion I think the person who is on the SMP who is most likely to be a time traveler is Puffy or Eret, or the time traveler isn't even someone form the SMP!

Rambo being an enderman he could maybe just apear because enderman spawn in all dimensions maybe they could teleport between dimensions at will

My theory is no matter you go to the other side or the inbetween, you will lose your memory about your current life. When you travel to the inbetween, you obviously lose memory. However, when you travel to the otherside, you will only meet the people that you've met when you were time traveling, so the only memories that would become more vivid is the place where you've traveled to, not the memory of your current life. My theory is no matter what you choose, you will lose the memory of current life, and you have to find a balance between time traveling and current life in order to gain control of the current moments or saving whatever is going on in the past and future.

I love this theory but Ranboo has said in a past live stream that his lore has nothing to do with tales. And I believe that no one in the dsmp is the past time traveler and that the “past time traveler” is just a tales from the smp exclusive character. Because hypothetically if it someone of the dsmp wouldn’t it be showed through their lore stream or hinted and not Karl’s? Edit: Ranboo also say that his memory loss is because of natural causes not because of some major lore thing

I watched it before, but just came to say that I have so many theories about ranboo and this is one of them that makes more sence to me (the backstory). My first theory: So endermen used to have green eyes (which ranboo haves) and couldn’t teleport so it was easy to kill them. So one day one of the phantoms which are grown endermites turned into the ender dragon and took over the end which made the endermens eyes turn purple one enderman by another. Z is an enderman scientist that wanted to make a potion that can stop the ender dragon from controlling the endermen. After he created the potion, he wanted to test it on an endrerman to see if it works and picked ranboo, because he was young. When he used it on ranboo, ranboo’s one of purple eyes turned back to green, but the other one turned red and half of his face turned white/gray. He kept ranboo with him to make sure he is safe. After a few days when ranboo got out of the house he was talking to dream in his enderwalk state, and they became good friends. But when ranboo isn’t in his enderwalk state he doesn’t know who dream is (until he met him). After a while Z noticed the enderwalk and that ranboo was forgetting things faster than usual and started studying the enderwalk until this day, and still doesn’t know how to stop it. Its like I’m writing a fictional story 😅 and I’m very sorry if there is any grammar mistakes because English isn’t my first language🥲 (and ik its long).

after tales from the smp new episode, i got this theory: as Karl runs in the maze where is a part of it that looks like the inbetween. also we see the wither roses everywhere. this got me thinking we now found out that the inbetween and the other side where made by dreamXD and he is the one gave Karl the time travel power. and we also know that dreamXD gets his power from death and people dying. so I got this theory that the time travel he gives ( as we know where was a time traveler before Karl) to get them to go to different times and kill people to get him power, and the places he gets them the reason it all goes to hell is because of dreamXD, the maze build by dream, the egg that sir Billiam has found was because dreamXD gave it to him. he just uses the time traveler to make sure the people where die, and he lets him have some times where he saves people so he will believe that what he tries to do actually works. I though of this because I don't think dreamXD can be so powerful with the amount of deaths that happened at the smp. but again this just a theory i wanted to share.

I actually think that he couldn’t pick a side. That he never committed to The Inbetween or The Otherside and never got to preserve his memories. His indecision left him stuck in the middle, and he was cast aside. This is helped by the fact that he’s probably not half anything. He might be a full enderman, but because he got his colouring from XD’s dimension, he never got to recover.

I agree with most things, you did good. However I do believe the opposite when it comes to the inbetween and the other side. I believe he went to the other side always trying to help others rather then himself. Causing him to forget because he never stabilized himself, and I think that the rules came from DreamXD himself at first (not sure about the XD thing I like how you put it)

I rewatched the Pit and then when I watched the newest thing of Karl's I immediately guessed that Ranboo was a time traveller because of the black and white. I wondered if you would do a video on it so I waited awhile but then you posted this so im happy now. Keep up your good work Animagician!

Wouldn't it make more sense if he had been visiting the Other Side? It gives a more valid explaination of why he lost his memories, and it lines up perfectly with his decisions in the present, which I think makes more sense than him deciding to go against all the decisions he's made. It also may be why Ghostboo appears to go against everything Ranboo stood for; he remembers how it ended for him last time, with him losing all of his memories, and is determined to not travel the same path a third time now. Overall though, I think the rest of the theory is spot-on, and I'd be decently surprised if it didn't come at least partially true, I just think that him having chosen the Other Side fits better with what happened to him afterwards.

After talking about it in the comments there's another interesting possibility. Back on that arguement where Fundy called ranboo a time traveller (no offence but I still think that was just a poorly done insult) eret had something interesting earlier. Ranboo and the others had been arguing about choosing sides and people when Eret said: "it's called the Inbetween, it's a realm I've been stuck in for the past few months" ... "It's called the INBETWEEN, a REALM I've been stuck in for the past few months" Eret may just be the previous time traveller, tales from the SMP had started by then so it's entirely possible they could have planned it. That's not even accounting for foolish (one of the oldest members of the server lore-wise) telling eret how this (while clearing out the eggs bloodvines) reminded him of "that time we took down that wither cult together" Eret doesn't remember. (Foolish) "what about when we climbed up a mountain whilst fighting of trolls?" (May have been ogres, can't remember) Eret still didn't remember, he took off his glasses as he thought foolish was getting him confused with someone else, but no, it definitely was eret. Eret was a time traveller, that's how he was there to join foolish in what he (an ancient character) describes as "The old days". Now this very well could be wrong but it's certainly interesting.

I just have two thing to tell you that will destroy you theory, and I’m not saying this to be mean it’s just that so many people misunderstood this so now I’m just completely blunt and border line rude with this. Karl’s Inbetween stuff is completely separate from the Dream smp. The creators have SAID IT THEMSELVES. And Ranboo has specifically stated that his ARG doesn’t affect the Dream smp meaning that you don’t need to know about it to understand what’s going on in the smp.

I do highly suspect that c!Ranboo was a time traveler, but now where does the Enderwalk fit in? Maybe that was the real reason as to how he lost his memories of time travel, and if or _when_ the Enderwalk “takes over” (he’s been getting closer to it), he’ll get those memories back. I don’t know much about the rules of the Other Side and the in between, so if anyone has a better idea or can fact check this go for it lmao.

We now know because of a bit of Wilbur lore that one of Ranboo's Deaths we haven't seen was to Wilbur's TNT in Las Nevadas. Obviosuly his final life was taken by Sam We still don't know for sure what caused the unaccounted death

Aimsey said in ranboos newest lore stream "death isn't permanent" and ranboo responded "never is" now there is no explanation for that but time travel would explain that right? Ranboo is one to not choose sides so he wouldn't of picked the in between or the other side because he doesn't pick sides, no matter how good there reasons could be, but i think he didn't need to choose sides because he'd never been to the in between or to the other side until dreamXD brought ranboo to his clock and then was forced to choose a side, but he chose nothing so he got lost to time itself and he forgot his purpose and who he even was, so dreamXD thought he got rid of ranboo but all he did was get rid of ranboo's powers and accidentally sent him to the present timeline. Just saying because he did choose a side i don't think his skin color would be like Karl's jacket when in dreamXD's clock. OH another idea is that the in between did what the other side did which was lead ranboo to the in between, so ranboo was always on the other side and had no idea of the in between Until the in between lead him to a secret portal that took him there and then once he found it he was then forced to choose a side but because he was always on the other side he was learning how to help people and he was to busy helping people that he forgot who he was and he even forgot that he was a time traveler. So dream got rid of him, but his time with overside still remained and his adventures and memories still remained in the other side. So i think that ranboo is made up by his memories from when time traveled but it came with a few consequences such as memory problems, lack of knowledge of his own origins and losing the power to teleport through time technically losing his enemies teleportain powers.
