In this video I discuss my thoughts on ranching and its future. I also talk about what a grazier is. Enjoy with a bag of popcorn. We’re going on a ride.

Do you have any requests for videos?

@@broomtailcountry I have not a specific request, but maybe a note to content in general. I really enjoy to follow farms on youtube and the only thing I want to ask to you is not rush/live for the content. Every time I see a content creator changing the main goal from connect his life with viewers to "livin' for views" I see the soul of content turn faded. So man, don't need to hurry. Plan and go with your life as usual and share with us with your heart, maybe take the camera outside and talk while walking sometimes is enough. For example, when you get the day where you'll buy your horse, "take us" with the camera to share your feelings and how the things are going. Like the channel "Farmer Tyler ranch" he do a good job to make a normal day life to content without much editing thing. I don't know if I made myself clear enough, but the idea is there. I love to see your stories and from bottom of my heart want to see you in a full glory farm being the best you could be. BTW I work as designer, I noted you haven't a own visual identity like a logo, I could give one great and solid logo if you want, for free - no tricks. Just want give a little gratitude for the videos I have watched from you. Drop me your email and we can talk then. See ya, peace!

Ag or Ranch, during your lifetime the three most important points to consider are: 1. Water 2. Water 3. Water If you are planning to buy out west you best educate yourself on the state of the future water supply. It doesn't look good. The Great Lakes will become everyone's friend one day.

Absolutely. It’s a serious consideration when it comes to whether or not my family and I will leave the West to somewhere like Minnesota or Wisconsin. A million dollars for a stream property in the west and 100,000 for a fat stream and rainfall in the East. I’ve done considerable research into the Oglala reservoir depletion and the shrinking water tables in the west too…

We do both cattle and farm I started with 12 cows with my dad and its growed. The problem we are having is land being bought out more then we can afford a house with 10 arces went for 2.8 million

Take this with a grain of salt Colton, but in my opinion the current level of buying is not sustainable. People are getting 7% mortgages on houses they have no right buying. I would say start saving up cash to put a down payment on land when people start getting foreclosed on. Don’t buy at the top, wait for a crash from current levels. There is hope for y’all just keep your accounts positive and keep building up what you have. Best of luck -Breven Engelson

Hey, the first one takes a while! Breven, the people I know grow, food, or alfalfa, or rotate a couple of crops and then raise a couple of head of cattle or just a few for their own consumption or their friends and then have them butchered to save them a lot of money. Are they wind up getting a good breathing bull, or bred Beefalo, not a lot, but stayed with crops that weren't water hungry, and filled a niche that they could switch around as the demand was needed and could even let part of the land rest for not use up the nutrients from one particular crop and switch them. With the way this current administration is with its regs. That seems to be the wisest choice at this crossroads. GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER ☝️ Walter

Finding a Niche is kinda what I am seeking. Not trying to tie myself down to one animal or crop!
