Kenneth Cope ran a superb small restaurant somewhere in the Chilterns... can’t remember exactly where. The food was excellent. He and his wife served the food. My mother enquired about the menu and price over the phone. We were rather poor at the time and she was rather embarrassed to say sorry but we can’t afford the prices. His reply was ‘how much could you afford?’ My mother rather sheepishly replied and he said “ok. Table booked for four. See you later” I was about 8 at the time and a huge fan of Randall and Hopkirk. The meal was magical and he was the perfect host.
I loved R&H back in the early 70's and still to this day. The Blu-ray DVDs gave the series a whole new life in such clarity too. For me, it was also the music throughout by Edwin Astley. Sadly, they don't make them like that anymore, maybe it was 'of its time', but holds up still today imo.
Being repeated over & over on GreatTV on Freeview weekdays along with The Persuaders (and now Return of the Saint) - love all those shows from my childhood
I used to watch it as a child as I was 10 when it first aired, and loved it. As an adult, as soon as I found out that it had been released on DVD, I bought the whole series. I distinctly remember, when watching it in 1969, that in the opening titles, Marty said something like “it’s ok, Jeannie can’t see or hear me - only you can, Jeff, only you”. Apparently that somehow became lost over time, which is disappointing as it was part of the series.
I grew up watching both this and the persuaders both brilliant series. I suppose like many I know each episode start to finish but still watch them. I am sure but stand corrected there was a 2nd series of R&H where Jeannie saw her husband in the end. Great TV. I
Next time, I would like you to revisit "Bugs". I would very much like to know what happened to Paula Hunt, who played Alex in that series. Pretty please ?
I agrée Éric, but there are copyright issues that prevent me from doing so. Also, theme tunes tend to be 30 seconds long, so I would have to play it numerous times for the length of the video and I think that would be annoying. Thank you for watching.
You can read it better on full screen as I just found out myself. Yes ,I know exactly how you felt when I first saw it! Other than that I like the blackboard effect. Maybe the Ytuber can edit the text on all his her videos to make them better. Sure will get more views!
