It is frustrating for iPhone users when their phone dies for seemingly no reason. In this video, I find the motherboard to be spontaneously shorted through no fault of the user. While these problems are covered by apple warranty, many iPhone users are left without their data when these situations occur, which is often the most valuable thing.

This was awesome! Thanks for posting. Good to know that power button isn't needed to avoid reboot and that top board only doesn't cause temp warning. Also, cool to see the diag process without any line names present. Killer job as always!

How much would you charge ? For water damage on iphone12 mini

I have a 12 mini witch draws 0a when off and 120mA when I powder it on. The screen stays off and the current stays at 120ma, drops to 80ma then to 0ma, goes back up to 120ma and repeats. What could that mean/ where do you recommend I start to diagnose it? The current measurements were taken directly on the battery connector. It draws 0ma over the USB

what is the history of the device? dropped or water damaged? The amp draws just give some small indicator of what to check, it is not a full proof method for figuring out what the problem is. What that amp draws kind of tells me is that the phone wants to turn on but something is preventing it. That means most of the power rails should be turning on. If it were me, I would try to measure all the power rails (nand, cpu, vram, etc) to see if one is missing. It can also possibly just be a sandwich board issue. Who knows. I never really know until I start working on it.

Awesome video great display of skills and knowledge! My question if you would be so kind to answer is what do you think the problem would most likely be if my 12 mini was on the charger plugged in, overheated, then now is completely dead, no power, no charging, no detection by computer. When this happened the battery health was severely degraded like 67% but no signs of water damage or anything when I opened it up. What are the chances that if I fix the battery and screen that it works? Or what would be your guess that caused it to overheat on the charger and completely fry? Lol could it be the ic? Thanks ahead of time and I did give you the much deserved like on the video!

Thanks for the like! Not a great chance that it is the battery, but you cannot tell until you try and start the diagnosis process. You most likely have some motherboard problem like in this video.

hey dude i have a question, i have a 12 mini that keeps searching for signal and also doesnt let me activate wifi. any idea what that may be ? also says the iphone is locked to user when i reset it. but i previously had my icloud info on it

It is a problem with the interposer or "sandwich"
