10:40 There is another rougelike platform fighter that I know of called Spirit Fall, but I’m surprised that that’s the direction this game’s campaigning went in, wasn’t expecting that.
I’m glad that the game looks like it’ll be a big success, Roster choice still disappoints me little, especially some like Catdog, but other than that, looks great
10:40 there is a similar mode in Rivals of Aether (Abyss Mode), another platform fighter. Not exactly the same type of rouge-like mode, but the concept is there. It's kind of like Smash Bros' Classic mode: complete small missions one after the other (like multi-man smash, break the target, boss fights ecc..) endlessly until you lose your stock. The catch being, the character you use in the mode levels up while playing and at every level you unlock slots for different permanent perks you can buy with coins, and this helps you the more you progress
I found out something INSANE about Ganondorf! Or in the case his final smash! Apparently, and I've tested this multiple times, it counts as a projectile! Found it out about 25 minutes ago when having my Ganondorf amiibo fighting my joker amiibo with meter on and scrolled to see the results...only to be confused as to why it said that Ganondorf used 6 projectiles...when he and joker have no spirits that give items, nor were items on. Scrolled down more and saw he did use 6 final smashs though so I tested it out myself and boom! Both numbers were the exact same again and again! I think I'm the first person to find this out because I looked everywhere online only to get nothing! Would love to learn why he counts as a projectile tho! :) keep up the amazing work!
I really hope they add the characters from the first game, as well as a few more than the already listed DLC characters... Timmy, Cosmo & Wanda, Angelica, Snap from Chalkzone, and Bessie from Mighty B would be a lot of fun. Kappa Mikey or Corneil & Bernie for an out there character.
Something I noticed when playing the campaign is that if die during the first run (and don't defeat King Jellyfish) You don't get the cutscene where you see Vlad. Even when I completed it, it didn't happen. I know Vlad still knocks u out thus brings in Clockwork to help you but it's kinda interesting that i didn't get to see that
actually the shrink ray has a random chance of actually shrinking you too unless theyre two slightly different looking items like the mushroom and mini mushroom in smash and i just didnt notice
so swift! I like how the first thing PKBeats shows off is a glitch lol im surprised the krabby patty isn't the most powerful healing item what you're doing with the shrink ray is shrinking everything else, so you're bigger by comparison there HAS been a roguelite/roguelike (i can't tell the difference) platform fighter. Kirby Fighters 2! It is a fighter, that has platforms.
And the graphics look different. I am pretty sure they would also not just release DLC characters without a trailer of sorts, so unless you did not play the first one, you should have noticed the roster differences
Hey Pk I know that this is the wrong series but I noticed something about Bayos up taunt. I Don't Know if this is intended but if you go into 1/2 or 1/4 in training mode there is a pretty big gap between lines. I don't know if youre done pointless/useless smash facts but if you see this I would just like to you that I love the series and the great work you do. Thank You.
I can’t wait for the physical version to come out in December, it’ll be nice to add to my growing collection of SpongeBob adjacent games that I for whatever reason happen to have, my favorite is still Nicktoons Unite: Globs of Doom, the Invader Zim level is the best in the game ironically. Though Attack of the Toybots is the better game overall if I’m being honest. Though Globs of Doom on the DS is pretty neat, I love the sprite art. Honestly the name of this series of fighting games should just be Nick Toon Brawl, or something shorter and easier to remember. This isn’t a light novel where the joke is the really long name. This is a kids game and it’s hard for kids to talk about it if the name is so long. Honestly it’s a branding problem which I can’t help but wonder why it wasn’t sorted out pre-release for the first game. It has the same problem “Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing” had before they shortened it for the sequel. It’s a problem a lot of Japanese developed IP have since their language shortens things by virtue of how it’s spoken and written. This is an American made game though so that shouldn’t have anything to do with it. Maybe it’s due to licensing or copyright, but Nick should still own the Nicktoons branding meaning they have no reason not to use it. Hell they could even re-use an older Nickelodeon fighting game’s name for this one, there are a surprising amount of those including the flash game which this series takes quite a bit from. All I’m saying is it shouldn’t be a problem but somewhere in the marketing phase of pre production this was left as is. Because of that now it’s one hell of a mouthful for no good reason. And I can’t help but feel it was due to a problem we as the public don’t know anything about. I mean just look at the kart racing series, it’s name is much better than this one, though it’s much more generic. Maybe it was done in order to stand out? Give the games an identity separate from all the rest? I don’t know if it achieved its purpose if I’m being honest, this just looks like it’ll be a problem down the road should the series continue far past this point. I mean “Super Smash Brothers for Nintendo 3DS & Wii U” is one hell of a mouthful too so even Smash isn’t absolved of that, though that’s the name of two games and not the series… Different conversation.
I'll have to look into it a bit more, but this looks like a platform fighter that can finally compete with Smash! Of course, it won't win, but that's still impressive. I'm also hoping Rivals of Aether 2 will be able to compete too, cause RoA is my favorite platform fighter, but it's too niche and "sweaty" outside of the workshop
It doesn't compete with Smash in the slightest. But that's not what you should be looking for it to do. You should just be expecting it to be fun in it's own right, which it is.
0:20 what's hilarious is you cannot have this game with items due to all the glitches and softlockes to the point I've seen people flying in circles cause of normal gameplay were people literally aren't playing the game online or even offline because of how glitchy it is unless a dlc character realeses
Nice concept, I would improve the execution; as now the video feels like it's only a very long product placement. I don't know if you were allowed or not to say whatever you want for this sponsorship though
hopefully they fix zim. His down "left signature" move, the green bomb sometimes is visually shown even after throwing it. making it hard to tell if they have it ready or not.
I was so confused because i couldn't remember a first part the Nick Brawl review but a sequel to the game makes a lot more sense (although the name is quite... bland) Man, that game looks a *lot* better than the first one. But Nickelodeon, what is that obsession over slime? Seriously, why slime?
Is there no way to change controls during campaign or select a profile so I can play with my custom layout? I’ve been avoiding campaign because I refuse to get use default controls while I’m still getting used to my own layout…
I honestly hope this inspires the other big name, Warner Bros., to try and make their own platform fighter using the Cartoon Network brand. I think such a game would have more potential in terms of roster, since Warner Bros. owns a lot of stuff, especially DC Comics, so a Cartoon Network fighter would probably have more potential than Paramount does.
Plus they replaced Toph with 3 firebenders, replaced Helga with Gerald, removed the Ahh Real Monsters characters, & made a bunch of other cuts in favor of comparatively lacking choices & yet Korra's still in it.
It's just lame that the Switch version has no excuse to be bad. Smash is a much more demanding game and looks amazing, loads pretty fast, and is running buttery smooth. NASB2 just again shows is just another platform fighter that fails to dethrone Smash.
There were basically no random facts in this video, which was annoying Otherwise it would've been a good video but I kept expecting it to go into some fun stuff you discovered instead of just a surface level spiel
