Thanks, Monk! I love Randy's playing. His solos are a work of art. I met him once at the Syracuse Jazz Fest. He was friendly with a dry sense of humor.

Wow!! What an incredible interview between these two gentlemen!!!! Love this !!! I rented a house in Quogue and other places in the summers in the Hamptons and met quite a few muscians in the 80s and lived in New York City, met just about just about everyone in all genera's of music. Jazz, Big Bands, Blues , Rock n roll, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nelson Riddle, Sammy Kahn, Chet Baker, I loved all music.🎶🎵 Bobby Short at the Carlye Hotel loved him. I WAS 17, WHEN I MOVED THERE . GREEN AS MOSS. OPERA, Symphony ORCHESTRAS, BALLET. What a mix of styles. All were great. Dave Sanborn. Wow!!! CLIVE DAVIS? Whitney Houston? The Brecker Brothers. WOW 🌟 👌 Truman Capote, met him too. What a history of his life. Enormous writer, even if he was slow. BIG SHOT MONEY, ALL EGO. Played with Frank Sinatra, Quincy Jones, what was the name of the restaurant? Bruce Springsting, I never went to his concerts when he was first coming out. My girlfriends did, and I went to see Leonard Cohen and Jazz, Patti Smith and Blondie, and the Pretenders, The Clash, Billy Idol, and all the rock n roll legends, most anyway. I could down the list. Pat Benatar, Led Zeppelin, Queen, the Rolling Stones, Kiss, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake, and Palmer, David Bowie, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Holly's, Eric Burdon and the Animals, (my favorite) JOURNEY ( MY LOVE) Bob Dylan was the stoicism of songs. We have so many, America is blessed for that. England has so many, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Jamaica, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Mexico, South America, Japan, Egypt, Turkey, if I have left anyone I am sorry. We haven't even gotten to the old Blues Artists and Appalachian mountain music, and country, blue grass. I started listening to music with my grandpa's fiddle and a colored man named Cotton, who played a harmonica, Big Daddy Wilson, so many. Cotton taught me to tap dance . Thank you both for telling me more. 🌹💖💋

Also, Randy is on Grant Geissmans new recording entitled " Blooz " which in my opinion is the best recording Grant ever has done! It is incredible and just got nominated for a Grammy! Would Love to see an in depth interview with Geissman on the channel! He is easy to contact and always replys back! Keep em' comin' Monk!

I think that club Randy cited at 42:00 was Jilly's...Jilly Rizzo...I recall Sinatra talking about hanging out there often when he would make TV appearances. Jilly was a drinking buddy of his. Love the back stories!
