I always get angry when I think about the potential Randy had and how it was taken away so easily. The amount of talent the guy had was indescribable. Since Randy thought about leaving Ozzy's band on the night before he died, I always thought that if Randy were still alive, he might've created some solo albums after he left Ozzy and finished studying classical guitar at the music college in he wanted to go to in Europe.
“and I consider that my work won’t be finished until I’m dead and buried, and I hope that’s a long, long time.” This is another one. John Lennon’s last interview on December the 8th 1980, the day of his murder.
yeah, it makes me cry everytime. it's such a horrible thing that he's just gone. oh god, I'm crying about it again. why oh why did he have to get on that plane? i miss him so much.
Why cant we get rid of justin bieber and get him back. ffs I am experiencing Ozzy Osbourne and randy rhoads and it just hurts that I can't even see the man in person.
Yes, this is hard to not agree with. The look of adulation in Ozzy's eyes tells quite a story. It's as though he is a father beaming over a son that he is so proud of.
Not in those last two months of Rhoads life though. Ozzy treated randy Rhoads like chit over contract agreements pending a live album . Physical and verbal abuse.
@@savagedick1462 unfortunately that's true. Ozzy would punch him too. I'd like to think ozzy regrets that and feels remorseful. Drugs and alcohol abuse can make a man act like a monster even to those he loves
@@scottbeater-man3714 Pretty sure they got rid of Bob and Lee cause they were seasoned hefty musicians. Had they they seen that abuse they would have socked ozzy . Rudy and tommy just stayed neutral and let it happen cause they needed the gig as side men.
This is what happens when you go beyond Asian difficulty... Guy was a born genius and humble man with a heart of gold who didn't really know how dam good he was, RIP Randy you still live with all of us in our hearts and playing
julie wagoner actually he is in Heaven! His brother Kelle Rhoads said in an interview that they were raised Christian and I believe Randy believed in Jesus until the day He died! Why do you think he was so humble?
@@beatlefan713 Humble because he was a Christian? No it was his personality. There are many arrogant people who believe in Christ. In fact they think they are the chosen one.
He sounds nothing like what I thought he would, but that's actually quite fitting. "I'm really proud and honored........and.......I don't wanna stop here" One of the most painful things I've heard.
"I dont wanna stop here" And he didnt. Even though he left too soon his legacy still lived on and inspired countless people to pick up a guitar or any instrument and just have the time of their life. He never stopped, and he'll never stop. Long live Randy Rhoads 🤘🤘🤘
Rarely am I as impressed with someones' personality as much as their talent, but Randy's utter humility here actually shook me up. It's probably why he was such a great artist/musician. I believe that if you don't completely humble yourself, you will never reach your full potential.
Exactly what I was thinking. His down-to-earth personality was quite a refreshing change and a perfect foil for Ozzy's out-of-control behavior. Lord knows what he could've accomplished if he were still alive today. God rest your soul Randy, and thanks for all that amazing music you left behind.
He died so young. Age 25. Even though I wasn't around when he died (born 1997) His playing just amazes me. He inspired me to play the guitar today, and I was born 15 years after his death. R.I.P Randy Rhoads, your guitar playing will always inspire young people across the world. Rock and Roll RR. THE ELECTRIC ANGEL.
I think it passes me off more now than it did when he died. He was changing the face of rock by leaps and bounds. We just didn't get enough of Randy. I can't even imagine what metal would sound like today if he was still alive.
I think Randy would have stuck with Ozzy through the most of the 80s and then ventured out on his own, or went more classical route. it's sad we never got to see his FULL potential as he aged.
I'm happy to hear his sweet voice and have a few seconds to read what he was like. He was a truly humble and driven artist. I'm glad to know he was honored during his short time alive. He never really died though. We're talking about him now. He lives on forever.
who the fuck raised you??? I BET YOU COULDNT PLAY AN OPEN E CHORD IF I PLACED YOUR FINGERS ON THE GUITAR YOU DUMB ASS I SAW RANDY LIVE IN FORT PIERCE FL IN 1981 GOD GIFT TO ALL MANKIND RIP RR.
who in this world would hit thumbs down???? Anyway I think Randy deserved the award. He really took soloing to another level through his dedication at music study. The guy was amazing and a rare type of person and player. The good ones always leave us too soon.
Every time I see this or any other Randy Rhoads interview, I always come to the same conclusion what a sweet and gentle person he was in his short time on Earth. Often imitated, NEVER bettered.
I met Randy Rhodes when I was a bellman in Phoenix az. They were doing the " blizzard of Oz tour". I got to talk to him and shake his hand, it was incredible. They stayed at the hotel for 2 days and I got invited backstage. I got to go into the room and there was Ozzy! Rudy sarzo and Randy! After small chit chat I told Randy I was a big fan and as a guitar player I asked ( he was practicing guitar when I walked in) can you show me how to play the solo on crazy train? He said "sure man sit down" and he proceeded to play and show me how the solo went! He was playing his Les Paul and after he showed me the solo in teaching terms he said "you try it" and he handed me his Les Paul! That is one of the most important and relished days of my life. God bless Randy Rhodes. A true gentleman and a incredible guitar player musician. Probably two weeks later I heard the news of his death. I still can't believe it.
I want a relationship\friendship as real as this between ozzy and randy ozzy said he still takes antidepressants because of Randy's death that's how you know it's real we need people that actually keep it real not no fake friends R.I.P Randy!!!!
Randy wanted more than anything to be respected as a guitar player and muscian! He loved playing music and the joy of making music! Im' just glad Guitar Player magazine and it's reader's were able to honor him while he was still alive to apprecciate it!
Almost spooky to hear this amazing young man speak.....I was only 5 when he died and he's always seemed a myth to me......love the look of true friendship on Ozzys face
Good God, such a beautiful person. Unlike some of the the trashbag "guitarists" in today's metal who are so up themselves. Rest easy, Randy. If there is a Heaven, and I go there, I hope to have a wee jam with you :)
His voice is gold 👌. I thought it would be a bit deeper but just by the way he talks you can tell he was humble and respected other guitarists as if they were all his best friend. RIP
Holy shit! It's soo good to hear him talk. He's so humble! If I can play guitar half as good as him I'd be cocky and arrogant as fuck. Like seriously, 'please maintain distance when you are talking to me, I'm fucking good at guitar'. I guess that's why I'm the shitty player that I am lol..
What an amazing, humble guy, a real person, and guitar virtuoso. We are richer because he lived and shared his amazing talent with us. RIP & Long Live RR
"I don't want to stop here" that made me shed a tear, till now you still blow us away with your amazing talent even after death, rock heaven out man ! :')
As Randy is talking, it is hard to not notice how he is holding the guitar like a little kid with his fingers shyly dancing and clutching the guitar. A very, very humble and honorable human being. I wish I could have taken lessons from him. In a sense, I suppose we all do if we keep studying what he recorded.
Actually, that's not true. When I took a tour of the Musonia last Summer (The music school Randy's mother built and where he learned and taught guitar), his brother, Kelle, said that Randy "Was no angel". So at one point, Randy DID do drugs because hey, it's the Rock and roll life style. But thankfully he stopped before he became an addict...and decided to stick with smoking cigarettes instead (Randy smoked a lot...A LOT) which might be JUST as bad. XD
