I know right? It's really strange how they completely miss the point of this song. It seems pretty straight forward & i can't remember any other song that causes so many disappointing reactions. I really don't get it. This is one of the best country songs ever written, sang by one of the best country artists to ever live. 😕☹😞

Just found ur channel and subbed because u r 1 of the few people who do reaction videos who really listened to this song and got it.....the chorus about it not being what u take when u leave this world behind u but what u leave behind u when u go really foretells the outcome of the accident...the farmer left his farm and the love of farming in his son's heart, the teacher left the knowledge in the minds of the students she taught, the preacher left a different path for the hooker and a changed life, not just for her but all the others he saved and ministered to. The hooker had only lived a life that she found fulfillment in, never really having a meaningful impact until the accident later having a son who she read the Bible to, who became a preacher himself....thus fulfilling her life's plan and leaving behind a son she raised to be a man of God.

I absolutely LOVE this song! It has a few great messages: 1) Tomorrow's never promised, so live for today. 2) Never judge someone for what they are, do don't know what they'll become. 3) Remember, for all we work in this life, we can't take any of our physical stuff with us, our legacy is what we leave behind. It was so sad when Randy suffered his stroke. I think it must be harder for him, since, when looking in his face and eyes, you can see his mind is still there, and he remembers what it was he used to do and love.

This is a song that tells us that no one is beyond the reach of God. As Christians we spread the Word of God not knowing how it may impact somebody’s life for Him. This simple gesture of handing a woman of ill repute a Bible led her to raising a son who would go on to leading others to Christ.

When Randy lived in Santa Fe, he came down to perform gospel songs at our church's Easter Sunrise Services in Albuquerque. It was always a blessing to have him & his band with us.

I heard him sing Amazing grace after he'd recovered a bit. I don't expect him to tour anymore because of the other complications that went with it, but I'm glad he's still got a voice to sing with, and who knows he may write some more stuff for people. He was always fantastic at that too. Tim Foust reminds me quite a bit of him when he goes full on country boy :) and I'm sure there's a whole lot of singers that have similar quality because of how much he inspires people. :)

Deeper Than The Holler is one of my favorite Randy songs. You might also look into I'm No Stranger To The Rain by Keith Whitley, who was part of Vince Gill's inspiration to write Go Rest High On That Mountain.

I think one of the biggest things people miss about this story is the time-line. God's plan wasn't revealed for many many years. Sometimes when things happen, regardless of how tragic they may be, something good comes from it. It may take time, but remember we are only here for a little while.

Dang. Your set-up and camera quality looks much improved.. Also surprised that you haven't done a Randy Travis song throughout all of your country reactions. He's got some great ones. Two of my personal favorites are "Promises" and "I Told You So." Carrie Underwood even did a duet of "I Told You So" with Randy when she was a contestant on American Idol. Then Carrie eventually recorded that song, both as a duet and as a single. Of course it sounds amazing as well. On the American Idol performance, Randy didn't seem to be in very good shape, so his performance wasn't the best there. Sad that he's unable to sing after the stroke he had.

He is from North Carolina like myself. I was invited to a BBQ by my manager at work years ago. I got there & I was told that I missed him and his wife by a few minutes. He married my manager’s cousin. They told me that they had told them that they something to do but then it was canceled. That’s just my luck. lol

Every song recorded depends on great writers, great singers, with a great fit. But just as important is the people that produce the music. The producers and session people. Try doing a couple of instrumental pieces. Some will blow your mind. Try Doyle DVD Dykes, Jimmy Capps, and of course Jerry Reed Chet and Atkins and that is. Just the finger pickers. Try Floyd Cramer on piano, Last Date is his biggest hit. Then for straight guitar try Glen Campbell. For comedy with huge talent try Jim Stafford. I know that is

I think he missed the point, the gift the preacher gave the hooker changed her life and shaped her child's life. If this one got you going try Randy Travis's "Angel's" Beware though, I've seen Angel's bring some of the toughest men I've ever known to tears!
