I need a video where you have a cameraman filming the cameraman, because it’s honestly so impressive to both be going that fast and filming perfectly. I can’t imagine how hard that is on the trails!
What a shock the GT has a bad battery. Mine was shot at 1000 miles. Sent it to FM where they "fixed" it. Still had the same issue (dead at 8-20%). Sent it back, FM said its fine so give us $130 or we keep your board. #FFM I'm going Floatwheel despite the S being cool and all.
@@DirtSickle1 before the firmware update you could’ve bought a battery from Chi Battery Systems and swapped it out yourself. Future Motion put a stop to that! Now they can charge you whatever they please for a “repair”. Iirc you need to leave your OW on the charger for 3 days to rebalance the cells. Using the option in the app to only charge to 90% will cause your cells to go out of balance. I stopped supporting FM after owning XRs and a GT. I’m all for Right to Repair. FM is trying to be Apple. I have and love my FloatWheel ADV Pro, and no longer ride my GT. I’ll be converting the GT over to a VESC over the winter, until then it’ll collect dust.
I'm curious to see a comparison on top performances Like a drag race, uphill climb and trail comparison between the GT s series, the adv and a top tuned vesc I'm not sure if those 3200 dollars plus are worth it
Sound to me like the the Float Wheel ADV is nearly half the cost, way more configurabe, just as fast as the GT-S or nearly, and way longer range. And a bit heavier. I think we know where the real value is here. The ADV
Nah dude. Everyone in the Onewheel community has way too much money. Plus there's a lot of overlap between Onewheel consumers and the kind of consumers that Apple targets. They'll be fine.
Yeah I see it everyday its the only thing I fear about being on a onewheel. I get in close calls almost over other time I ride, especially on my commute to work.
Stay safe. I had a few close encounter myself too. I feel like some drivers is doing it on purpose. We've had many hit and runs with kids on ebike. I hope karma gets them.
@@mikecontreras5190 Yeaaaah, not too long ago I ended up running into the side of a car at a blind corner where a car ran a stop sign... Wasn't going too fast, thankfully, but they were mad at ME for touching their car 🤦♀. I'm lucky the timing wasn't worse 😨
@@NikkiDimesYT Yeah they always look at you like you are the asshole but they legit almost kill you and then are like "watch out idiot" Its infuriating.
I really hope you guys re-do this video soon, I've been looking forward to it since the GT-S annoucement but this felt a little rushed.. (understandable, thats a cute pup!) You guys are a lot of peoples go-to group for info etc. so hopefully another video will be a little more in depth with the comparisons 😄
Soooo looking forward to your new "which board should I get" video because I have a PintX and have had it for 2 years now and want to get an upgrade/bigger board and really am leaning towards the FloatWheel ADV Pro.
@marcusl8243 I have taken my buddies GT for a spin before and it certainly was different. Yeah I think the price, specs, app features, right to repair, and all the 3rd party mods that will come out from people like C&R and Float life will be dope and is the real reasons I'm leaning that way.
ADV was the unsung hero of the video, kept up with the FM boards, towed one of them and still had more battery. Jeff has got 30 out of the ADV whilst drinking coffee, on the GT-S he was having to fight "his lizard brain" to hit 25.5............
@@hobolive123 agree. One step closer a AdV pro is for me to order over the winter ready to use next spring since I live in the Buffalo New York area can't one wheel much in snow, cold my XR will keep putting smiles on my face till.... 🤙
@@hobolive123 Do we know if the brittle plastic with ADV is still a thing? I saw a vid with Tony learning how to heat temper the bumpers I was just curious if this was resolved before going all in on an ADV.
@@stephenhruby8763 I believe all new boards come with the new mix of plastic and it only affected the black plastics so the other colours that are available won't have the same issue. I also believe new plastics were sent to everyone that received the first version.
I love the metal color of Sidewinder editon the WTF rail for XR. Is the fan metal the same metal color as SideWinder? Also, can you make a wtf rail for floatwheel adv?
Jeff, I know you said who'd watch these videos? But, honestly I like these videos I get to see places you ride and how you ride them. That's what makes riding awesome you find different paths to hit up with friends and challenge each other. You never know what trails you might just find a banger spot around the bend. You're GOATED
The problem with using the app for the gt is you get the unclosable update notification right? If that’s the only problem you can turn off cellular going to the app
@@ironpizza5150 ofc you still have to do that. you can just leave the phone app open and ignore the update popup and controll the board with the smartwatch app since theres no update prompt there
Im seriously not a fan of watching people ride there one wheels...especially with insta360 sticks. That said, I have been watching compassion videos because im about to upgrade to GTS. My only gripe appears to be I cant run WTF rails cause I can't re level the board. And my average rides are 18 miles. So, th entire video came down to 15 miles with 16/18% left (I forget exactly) and I wish more was said about the ride itself. Sounds like, GT-s keeps full power even with diminished battery? My GT has never gone over 20 miles distance...so I have no idea what 23 miles is like...and it dies at 10%...hope GTS aint the same.
So interesting 'cause that other climbing video is saying the gts was the worst. But that's not what I'm experiencing personally. And all my climbing text, the GTS, has a little better. torque during the climb. Also, just like you guys have suddenly noticing the beep on the GT when it's pacing with the GTS, it's just beeping the whole time.
@jeff: lol it was the most unconventional test with dragging each other and not finishing the battery 🤣 well it seems the float wheel won but what is the max mileage irl conditions for each board?
Battery "fuel gauges" aren't the best even in the modern day especially a non-automotive investment into the hardware/software/development costs. The EV's have their issues and the best need time to catch up, they don't know it's full of stuff or towing something, will the tesla truck have linear transducers on the suspension to estimate load to more accurately predict range? For real time comparison with a less accurate BMS, you should consider watching the voltage and hope the cells aren't too linear to have an accurate enough OCV vs SOC chart. There will be sag of course so you have to project the OCV or just wait a 60 seconds and the chart estimated SOC would be pretty conservative.
Unfortunately, Future Motion Onewheels no longer let you monitor total voltage, let alone cell voltage, they've blocked these readings from being accessible to riders
love these videos! i live near the stop sign those people blew, so seeing yall go places ive seen and been is amazing! maybe we'll run into eachother someday.
thanks for the review, how about comparing the Enduro tire to the GTS tire. Glad to hear your tire pressure choice. I'd like to hear more about pressure recommendation. Float on
Hi ! Thanks for your video ! For an absolute beginner who are afraid about nose dive and only want to cruise chill, which one is the safest ? Because when I saw all the setup need to do for the adv I’m a bit scared to do something not reliable
If you’re not comfortable with VESC, I would do FM products. The GT will allow you to hit higher speeds without pushback. They all have their drawbacks, most people will tell you a used XR is the best product to get. Just do some more research for your use purposes. I have a pint X, I like it a lot but I do wish I could hit those higher speeds before pushback. I have no knowledge on VESC so I can’t help you there.
Put the if you leave the battery charger on it continues to trickle charger and create a equal balance and a deeper deeper core energy harvest...🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤ 4 X buLP sHIN3!
I've got an xr totally wanna vesk just and got my gt and got one of those sherman s's just wondering if that thing can handle heavier offroad, but what's makes me wonder is a vesk with all that extra tork would kick the $** out of the ride Im used to. I enjoy the content, keep it coming and ill be sure to keep the likes coming!!!!!!
BTW, there is a good little hack to avoid updating firmware but retaining the ability to use the app (at least on IOS). I wrote it out, but now I'm paranoid FM monitors this channel and will update the app to break the hack if I detail the steps!
Cusious, what bumpers do you have on that ADV? Can you just use GT's? Do you know if flat kick footpads would work on it? Same fitting er no? Appreciate it
I keep tuning in on gts videos hoping for some inspiration to sell my gt and order one, but the extra power just doesnt justify it for me personally. Im not a racer or a trickster. Im a cruiser. Man i just feel bad for any gt owners that might've sold their boards to "upgrade" to the gts.. not knowing the limited range they'd be getting with it. I am also in the 145lb range and i go on 26-30mile rides on my gt no problem. I'd be so bummed. I'll be waiting on the next OW release, unless that one only gets 10 miles😂
I’m a skinny boy and man it just feels better it’s smoother snapper and fun but I don’t like the footpad cutout I don’t look forward to the cost but I prefer my S now unless it’s colder I’ll ride GT
Nothing to be sorry about. No regrets at all about buying a GT a little over a month ago. Though I can afford it, $3200 is a bit too much. $2600-$2800 would have been the sweet spot.
@@Glorybearer7 true but for the people buying the gt as the “flagship” model and wanting the best of the best, the gt they bought now got outperformed by the s series
The GT is still a better buy for most riders. If I had to do it over again, I’d still buy the GT. $2300 w/ more range vs $3200 with less range and more power. Most new buyers don’t need the extra power with lack of range. $3200 (before taxes) isn’t chump change for most.
I'm not TFL, but I will say, once you ride a GT you will almost definitely want to upgrade to a GTS. I've had my GT for a year now and love it to death but also would love a GTS just to see how much faster and better the experience will be. That's just my two cents, all my buddies who started out on PintX or Pint upgraded to GT within a year and didn't regret it. I would say just buy the GTS if you're able. (Depending on your situation though, I'm not sure if the extra $1000 is worth it.)
Also: the GTS is basically the racing version of the GT. If you're getting a Onewheel to cruise around, I'd pick the GT. It's cheaper with better range and still pretty good performance.
@high-chu3927 I would, but paying in crypto seems sketch to me. Also, I would rather buy from a legitimate American company if possible. I know FM isn't great about some 3rd party and right to repair stuff, but at the end of the day, they are an American company that takes actual money.
