ceejay01k hey I have the base speakers in my 2016 RRS when you installed the upgraded ones did you have to do anything to the amp or just plugging the new speakers worked?

@@gurpreetdhillon7150 No, i did not, i wish i can change the amp, that will make it more clearer, and rich sound. but do not get me wrong, i had a big difference in the sound quality after upgrading just the speakers. it s much better than the crappy basic speakers. hopefully these guys wii make a video showing us how to upgrade the amp any time soon.

Hi - i think your splitting hairs here ... impedance refers to alternating current and you are correct that is what it is called when the speaker is in use... but when you are measuring it with a multimeter ( DC ) then you are measuring resistance. Yes resistors in parallel if you have two 4 ohm resistors in parallel there will be a total resistance of 2 ohm.

Yes this is on the list - we made a start but got distracted

380w and 825w use the same kind of speakers the surround version just has more of them for the surround sound

The speakers on the 380w Meridian sound system and the 825w Meridian Surround sound are exactly the same.

In theory you need to upgrade the speakers as the resistance is different but it would be worth a go - my car had the upgraded amp already.

I think maybe to do with trying to get the speakers thinner to fit into the door ?

@@L663 Yes, might be. Like a slim subwoofer, but hadn't seen on door speaker before. Very interesting solution for a large speaker avoiding touching the window glass.

Hi Tom - we need to look at the Defender 2020 sound system and see what upgrades we can do.

Wont fit, but defender does have different tiers like this Range Rover. Please do a video on the different systems

How about the sub out of the older model ( which used the same amplifier ) Try doing a good image search for this PN XQA500120 let me know. It seems to have 2 plugs each with 2 connections

The part number you need i think is LR035187 - there is one on ebay for £200 ! Do a google image search for this PN first to check it looks correct. Even with shipping this must be cheaper than the dealer....... Just to say you are super flash having the 24 speaker system ..... sure you are not just showing off !!

Lol not showing off at all! I refuse to pay the “stealership” so much money for a speaker, Im yet experience the full potential of the system and I can’t wait. Btw, I’m happy with the grill and door panel I purchased from your website!You guys are the best and thank you very much for the info.

I do indeed see your point - and in the video i do mention that if you have the base amp / speaker set up you are probably not going to enjoy the benefit of these lovely speakers ! @@L663 Fair enough. I'll have a look at the link. I have a D4 and would love an upgrade to an L405 RR... Only thing stopping me is the seven seat practicality! Love your vids BTW, I find them enormously helpful 👍

He's dead right in what he says about using BT to stream music. With any high end audio, if you put crap in, you get crap out. Play CDs or download HD audio and plug your Astell and Kern player into the car with an actual lead. Sounds way better.

@@SteveKimbo As you know we have both on our fleet here ... I love the D4 - its just such a great bus ! But the fuel economy is not good... The L405 is much better on the fuel and cheaper on the road tax ( both have the same 3.0 TDV6 engine ) . There are also 7 seat L405 versions around.

How would you hook the player up to the car?
