That's what the EGR does. Recirculation of the Exhaust gas creates soot particle in vast quantities. That's why they added a particulate filter to capture the soot. I have had my inlet manifold off and it was also caked up. The hole system chokes the engines breathing. Hence the reduced performance of engines with so called recycling systems.
Really interesting that mate, I’ve got pics from the garage that did oil cooler gaskets and could see how caked the inlet was! A job I’ve been meaning to get and hope to in the next few weeks 👍🏻😎
Would like to see you do an intake clean. Inspected my lower inter cooler hose few weeks ago would like to see what comes out of yours, I had approx 100-200 ml of oil sitting in mine Jubilee clips are a bit of a bugger to reach but manage to pop them off with out removing the front bumper, gained access via the wheel arches.
@@RaymiesGarage it awful stuff, just seems to bake itself to everything, I did a carbon clean on a friend’s RS5 and found petrol with a rounded brush attached to my cordless drill worked a treat, just a messy process! Good luck and look forward to seeing the results
Love these videos What about a cleaner like Revive? I used it on my 3.0 SDV6 Discovery - the crap that came out was mind boggling. Now I have the SDV8 I’m thinking of doing the same 🤷
Revive does absolutely nothing. When I took my EGR pipe and throttle valve off, I had to use a brass wire brush and petrol to get the oil and carbon off. There is no way an atomised liquid is cleaning an intake track in a few minutes.
Have you ever experienced transmission gear clunking when coming to a stop 2nd gear to say 1st gear then pulling away ie mainly at round about? I had transmission oil change but still happens when the car get warm say 20/30 mins of driving - im thinking maybe i have to get a new transmission oil cooler and check the radiator or water pump - what would you recommend?
@@RaymiesGarage cheers Raymie, my rear wiper works but keeps stopping so I’m about to attempt it, I’ve bought a second hand one so here’s hoping it does the job. Windae been in some nick recently so need to do something.
