You are very good at making it enjoyable to follow you. I am a 72 year old Retired Aviation Gearbox Technician who has a badly injured neck and spine. I bought my ancient 1997 P38A Range Rover. It has a dreadful "OVERHEATING PROBLEM which I must overcome on my own because I find it so difficult to trust people whom you do not know!

If it is the water pump only you don't need to remove the fan shroud. There is enough room to put (actually force) the fan aside (a few centimetres to your right) and complete the work. It will save some working time. Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot. Job done two days ago.

Thanks for posting this video - would be great if you could make one showing the thermostat replacement too 🙏 :)

The pump can only go one way. Bolt pattern prevents it. If it's seized in, the two holes you mentioned are threaded to allow a bolt to screw in and push pump out.

Good video as usual! Do not even attempt this without the viscous fan spanner. If not a 5 minute job becomes 2-3 hours! They are cheap, buy one :-)

Hi, I got a metal impeller type on Ebay from a good supplier in the UK, it was around £20 if I remember.

I heard you mentioned that the engine your working on is a BMW engine? I was surprised to hear that because I thought BMW started building engines for Land Rover in 2003? What year is your P38?

Hi Jean and thanks for watching. Drain the radiator and then remove the drain plug on the right hand side of the engine to drain the last bit of coolant out of the system. Use some lock tite (not permanent) on the side drain bolt when you put it back. I thought I had made a video about it, but can't find it. However it should be pretty easy to spot the drain plug on the engine. Good luck!

I need to see how to remove the fan shroud, can you remove the radiator by simply removing the fan shroud. I changed the radiator last month, ended up removing a lot of the front end, intercooler out, removed all the hardware to allow the AC cooler, and oil cooler to be jiggled out of the way, which allowed access to remove the rad, is there an easier way ?

@Chris Greenwood Yes the radiator is easily removed if you take of the shroud and fan. Check out video 84 for how to remove the shroud: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ac1uW1CxxBY.html Thanks for watching!

My p38 passenger door will not open both interior and exterior handles are broken and I think the door is locked, I can pull as hard as I can on the interior release wire while the interior lock is up but still nothing and I can’t get the door open to take the the panel off and do it from inside. HELP ME

Hello Harley. That's a sticky situation indeed. If the door unlocks, but doesn't open I'm guessing the door latch might be broken. It could be that the wire has come undone from the latch and still is attached to the handle. But to access it is indeed a tricky thing. You'll probably have to remove the seat to gain access to the lower door clips. You might be able to unclip it with the seat in though. So you might want to try that. As far as I can recall you get all the bolts out without removing the seat. Sorry I don't have any better suggestions. Check out various forums as someone there might have had a similar issue and could offer good suggestions. I hope you can sort it out. Thanks for watching!

Quite a bit different from the V8 engine.

I can imagine the V8s are different in most ways. I don't know if anything is shared, except the steering box, EAS and fuse box. Maybe the brake system? Thanks for watching!
