Enjoyed the videos on the speaker/amplifier upgrade you did, I'd love to do it on my P38 with a dab bluetooth kenwood head unit I have all ready but not all speakers or bass speakers are working and would be interested to see how to do it with after market units and amp.

It’s harder to drive a 2ohm speaker than a 4ohm speaker...basic ohms law.... but you make fantastic helpful videos.just thinking the speakers on the rear side panels they may need changing they may cause an impedance imbalance that will cause the amp to shut down....but then again I may be talking bolxxx lol

do you know if the ambient lighting can be swapped or purchased?? id like to see that done, if possible...

By replacing just the speakers will it make a great deal difference as standard once are awful. Or do u have to buy and connect a amp.

I did this upgrade yesterday! Here's my thoughts. So firstly thanks so much to the boys @powerful ... Guys I've watched so many of your videos and very helpful and detailed. You're awesome - keep up the great work. So, like many I had the awful tinny speakers at the bottom of the range so I decided to do this upgrade. I live in Australia and found it very hard to buy these upgraded speakers in Australia. I imported some used mid range woofers from the Uk. If you're concerned about ripping the door cards off. Don't be this was surprisingly easy compared to most cards I've pulled in the past. Now down to the verdict ... Was it worth it? So honestly, I'd say I'm not sure. I haven't listened to it for a great deal of time but on first impressions it's maybe a 20% improvement. I'm really into my music so sound quality is very important. If you're just looking for a bit more then do this upgrade. But if you want to really pump, this isn't for you. Good luck to all!

how do you take out the Tweeter? Does it just pull off after removing the doorcard?

@powefulukltd love all of your videos, very helpful for lots of upgrades. I have just done this speaker upgrade, I wanted to know, if you have the base model speaker system can you add the front and rear mid range and tweeters? Is the wiring already there for these?

I have all the components to make the change .. I need to know if I just have to remove and put. I don't need to reflash the computer or something?

Great videos as always! keen to check if anyone has been cheeky and upgraded to the super premium speakers on the base amp? what was the verdict? as many have said its just a marginal improvement to go from base to premium on the base amp, im not sure if I should go to super premium speakers on the base amp tp see how that sounds, or go for premium and use the extra funds for a better amp! any help would be much appreciated and I'll report back my findings!

Excuse me correcting you but it is important that the speaker impedance is matched to the amplifier for optimum power transfer. If you change to higher impedance then the amplifier should be changed to match.

Also, generally what is the mounting depth on those stock speakers you are pulling out? They look purposefully shallow, meaning that something aftermarket with a standard size magnet may not fit

What size are the speakers? In other words if I wanted to do some after markets, what would I need?

I have a 2019 l405 and i went to do this upgrade only to find out my 2 rear door speakers are different. I have the meridian premium but not the super premium. Do they make replacement super premium speakers for these woofers in the rear doors?

Hi - I have upgraded the speakers and there has been a marginal upgrade in the sound....i may need to change my amp to get more sound out of the speakers im thinking. Is there any way of checking what Amp i have installed without taking the car apart ?
