420mm is 16.5in meaning the Bentayga has larger brakes than the rims on my last car... And my last car wasn't even old, it was a 2012 Skoda Fabia vRS...
@@ekgcanadianenthusiast9961 oh trust me alot of people do, i've personally seen them complain and its not always about the money its also about the convinience, nobody wants to buy a "luxury" car and have it suddenly lose power on the road within a month of purchasing it so yes i will bring that up here
Uk gov has form in making bad decisions as regards to tax on cars that are supposedly more eco. It for years has been making high nox emitting bad for the environment diesels cheaper via a tax backhander to owners . Only now is this being put right, but for years it was allowed to go on even when the evidence was in and they were shown to be in the wrong!
Not just that, it isn't fair to other buyers who have to pay more, but in reality have less emissions. In the end it is just business like everything else in this life.
@@preyhunter4179 its ok I only had this opinion because driving back on the motorway one evening I was behind the Bentley and it genuinely looked like a black cab 👍🏼
@@ekgcanadianenthusiast9961 not really. When you are spending near 100k or over, why would you want any of the mainstream German brands or JLR? At that price point you would want Bentley, Aston Martin etc
The biggest deciding factor in this market is none of the areas covered by Mat. It's prestige, the brand, the gravitas, show off-ability, "pose" value. You've made it if you drive a Bentley, whereas in comparison Range Rovers are commonplace, I know half a dozen people who have them. That's how you decide between these two.
That's because this is the range Rover sport not the normal range Rover which costs more. If you were to compare the regular range Rover SV autobiography, then it would cost more than the Bentley. Atleast in my country
Love that Bentley but the Rangie makes a pretty good case for itself. In reality, I doubt that many will be choosing between the two though. Third car should have been a Duster which is obviously a cut price RR
Buddy has owned both and considers both junk. The Land Rover electrical system collapsed after two months. They actually bought back from him as the local dealer was unable to repair. They then sold him the Bentaga. He got fed up after a $4,500 tune up and $10,000 for brakes among several other issues.
Make BMW m3 hurricane vs Audi R8 v10 spyder, please BMW m3 hurricane is one of the most fastest car evet but you guys never did a BMW m3 hurricane drag race but still I Love This Chanel
Hey Matt. You should make a review of the 2020 Toyota Rav-4 plug in hybrid. I wasnt a real fan when my parents bought it but the quality in it and the comfort in it for its price changed my mind. Im also really impressed with its continues gearbox and the fact you can go 80km regularly with electric power alone. Currently my parents average about 2,5l/100km in a 2t vehicle whilst also doing almost continues 400km trips in a weekend, which is amazing imo
That take about hybrid versions of cars is SOOO freaking good. At the end of the day, they are just a gimmick. You got a smaller engine, added weight, decreased speed and agility. And at the end, unless you are constantly changing between electric and ICE mode, your “contribution” to the environment is absolute zero or even worse than just having the normal ICE version of said car
Hi Mat, your head to head review of the Range Rover Sport v Bentley Bentayga is very detailed and I liked it so much that I subscribed. And I chose the Bentley Bentayga, I like the design.
Great video Matt!! And one thing you didn’t say is that having a Bentley is like a Ferrari, it gives you status. Owning a Range Rover won’t give you much, so people wanting to impress other people should definitely consider the Bentley.
Owning a Range Rover wont give you much? 😂 My dear, Range Rover is considered to be a status symbol even higher than the German trio And you say RR is nothing? Yeah, the Bentley may be shouting rich life more, but font forget, the RR Vogue LWB competes with the RR Cullinan, and thus carwow used the RR Sport against the Bentley!
@@theforeignerinamerica1817 Those brands may not be on the same level, but the RR Vogue does compete extremely well with the Cullinan my friend, and you can add any car to the comparo as per your wish as well 🙌 I Love Cars too!
actually drove a range rover sport last night. I don' think it was a hybrid but looked just like this one. Def noticed the lag he's talking about though. The throttle response, the gear change, everything takes a second or so to register. Beyond that it's pretty powerful and the interior is lovely. Guess that's my review of the car... in the comments or a professional review of another version of the same car... yea...
Love your reviews but when you say for example "the infotainment system or cruise control system isn't the best on the market" it would be great if you told us which car does actually have the best system on the market ?
Any person with the money will always go for Bentley. German engineering and prestige of the brand. That's what proper baller do. Range rover is for middle class money. Bentley is for real money.
Very well said! These hybrid cars are made just as a little legal door for people that want to fence the law. Incredible that everybody knows, but nobody does something about it.
@@carholic-sz3qv the sad thing is that all the makers lie about the consumption when it comes about hybrids. Some are way better, very true, but none offer what they say. I drive a petrol car and i have it also with LPG. I think it polutes less than hybrids with 200+ hp. I would like to see on roads cars like toyota mirai, not electric with batteries, and also not big petrol engines with mild hybrid or hybrid tech.
Amazing video again matt! Just a thought tho... the price comparison feels a bit unfair because although the quality and the feel of the vehicle are the roughly the same... You're paying a hell of a lot more for the Bentley because of the Name of the vehicle and the premium of the design... Range rovers are too common now and don't really give people the wow factor which Bentley does, hence the reasoning for the price.. *in my opinion*
Note that there are a few PHEV's which might make sense to buy over their non-hybrid counterparts, purely based on cost and performance (eg: BMW X5 45e vs 40i). Depends on preference and tax situation, of course, but just throwing it out there.
Yeah good point. 330e over a 320i or 530e over a 520i etc. Cheaper to buy than diesel counterparts with tax incentives, cheaper to run than their petrol counterparts and potentially cheaper to run than their diesel counterparts too. They can return 60odd mpg if u charge it regularly enough and most diesel will realistically struggle to do consistent 50mpg. not to forget the 330e and 530e outperforms their diesel and petrol counterparts nicely in 320i and 520i and match if not still beats 330i and 530i. Add 545e in there and u have a rocket
The X5 45e is cheaper than the equivalent 40i with tax incentives, and has some better performance characteristics (the additional power is counter-balanced by the additional weight, but the electric motor effectively negates the penalty of auto start/stop without having to code it disabled, and you get additional torque when applicable). The 45e would actually compare favorably to the Range Rover PHEV, imho.
They are also "performance plugin hybrid" designed only for performance and not economy, but if you can afford this you won't care. The rest about the reason you buy them you described in your review.
RANGE ROVER Sport has the best offroad capability and BENTLEY BENTAYGA has the excellent onroad confort......... I'll choose the BENTLEY BENTAYGA , because it is a perfect onroader........👌🏻👌🏻
