I really enjoyed the smooth recoil and accuracy of this rifle, I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use and quick sighting. I would recommend getting one if you are on the fence.
Here in Australia, almost the "home" of the SMLE, as we used them exclusively, and manufactured them, a lot of the guys have Ishapores and really like them. Some of the old pros say that there's a bit of (unfounded) snobbery about them, as there's a perception that they were inferior. I've not shot one, so I can't comment from experience.
