This is the first video in our five part series about returning our Ranger powered Great Lakes to airworthy condition after it has sat for a few years. This airplane has a lot of history in Cliff’s childhood and at the Old Rhineback Aerodrome, so we are excited to be the new owners of this beautiful biplane!

This will probably be the only time that I finish an aircraft restoration series. A vintage looking bird, not too long of videos, getting to the nitty gritties, awesome work and can't wait to see it all the way through!

Fantastic! Glad to see this Great Lakes getting love again, I remember watching it at a kid! My daughter Tilly and I both volunteer at ORA now, we got to meet you at the end of the season last year. Excited to watch this come back together!

It's very similar to the German biplane Buecker 131 Jungmann which many of them still fly today in Germany and Switzerland.

I also have a Ranger engine that I want to get running for a project. Do you have a source for the Mag leads? I have Bendix Scintilla SF6LN-8 Magnito.

We did not change them personally, but there is a harness that was made by Fresno Airparts that was installed. They have them on their website, you should check them out!
