This is a quick follow on video from the front coil install by doing the rears, they are heavy duty 100-300kg upgraded coils that raise the car 50mm above stock height
Thnx again for the good work and for the video. The first name suggestions that came to my mind are; TheGentleAussie, EasyOffroader and BaldButTall. Cheers and stay away from Covid19.
honestly would be putting chassis stands under the chassis rails not on the lower arm as you'll potentially damage the bush and much easier to slide off too
Nice job mate! Have you decided what bar you are gonna go with yet? I’ve been meaning to get one but struggling to choose between either a loop bar (Piak 3 loop) for better protection or a bumper replacement one (Offroad Animal Predator) for looks and weight saving. The Piak would be an extra 110kg or so with a winch and a couple of spotties but I get to keep the factory bash plate which would give some protection on the front for the CV joint and steering arm etc. Whereas the Predator bar shows off the shocks (still not sure how I feel about that) and is only about 60kg extra with winch and lights. Really interested in what you think, cheers and stay safe!
Large Torch I’m going to go with the piak bar myself they say the bar is around 60-70kg and the factory bar is around 30 soo not adding too much weight with the bar, plus I’ve already prepared the suspension for the extra weight
@@jacobsgarage5458 Wow didn't realise the plastic bumper was that heavy! But I emailed Piak Australia a couple months back and their sales manager's exact words were "The bar weighs 81kg’s and is powder coated steel", maybe 60-70kg is for the non loop one? Hopefully the weight won't effect handling much with the constant load springs 🙏🏻 Looking forward to your install + review video haha 😏
Large Torch yea the factory bar is thick plastic and thick plastic reinforcements with steel brackets soo they are still pretty heavy, must be the weight of the non loop
Captain Barnicle no I don’t take my temperature I usually just work through a cold but I want to avoid the doctors as much as possible considering that will be the hot spot for covid
Jacob Merwe get your thermometer out and take your temperature. Go to the Dr if it’s over 37.8c. Hope it nothing serious. Great vid!! Interested to see how much the rear settles after a week or 2!
Ricart Armand Severino if you go any higher on the front you should invest in a diff drop kit to reduce stress on the CV shafts as well as carry spare tie rods or get stronger ones and get longer braided brake lines and maybe extended wheel sensor cables
Jacob Merwe true that. Or get full suspension specific to lifting the truck some few more mm up and wont sacrifice or destroy any parts of the vehicle. Ugh this hobby and truck of hours. Thought we are already satisfied with it as it is, but we always end up putting little moda here and there. Cheers mate!
Anyone knows or tried quicklift before? Are they safe? Are they recommended, especially for noobs like me that don't do offroad but want to have Offroad look on their truck?
Hi Mate, thinking to do similar but are you able to measure height from ground to say top of radio aerial? Have a height issue at apartment marking so just like to check
Hi Jacob i know you are now on the Piak Bullbar, but back when you had the stock bumper didn’t the coil spring destroy the shocks considering that you used spring rates with load but no extra load upfront and in the rear back then? Thanks mate.
@@jacobsgarage5458 These are my measures from lip of fender to floor, Back and front . You got 96.3 on the rear before replacing the springs, that is very low for a stock Raptor, I have 103/rear without any mods.
