I live in michigan and a die hard Rangers fans. My whole life cbc hockey night in canada. This the feed i was able to watch. Its always better than espn.

ESPN was garbage during this game. Cameras and Sound messed up the entire game. Mid-play they switch to a player in the bench or the goalie. They even switched the broadcast to Avs-Dallas during a power play.

ESPN is awful. All McDonough does, is, talk about statistics and challenges for whoever is the visiting team, and gets back to play-by-play as the mood suits him. He also sounds as if he’s hosting his fantasy, television talk show: “Not So Late Night with Sean McDonough”.

Maybe a makeup call for Svechnikov getting a minor on what should've been a major and 5 game suspension trying to blow out the opposing goalie's ACL? Knock it off. Hurricanes are 0/10 on the PP and Rangers are 4/9, and the Canes are thoroughly outclasses in goaltending. That's why they're losing. Speed and shots is not how the game is measured.

NHL on NBC was amazing. I was born in 2002 and that was my whole childhood watching hockey. Mike Emrick and Dave Strader were the best play by play broadcasters I’ve ever listened to. ESPN’s coverage is just awful.

Unfortunately most people can never afford a ticket to go to an event there. I’ve been to very few events there because it’s not affordable. Knicks fans were able to go to Philadelphia for cheaper than MSG. Including the tolls and hotel reservations. It was still cheaper than going to a Knicks playoff game at MSG. I’m blessed that I took the Islanders as my team back in 2011 even though the Rangers were much better at that time. My family moved to Long Island from Stamford CT in 2008 so that’s why I’m an Islanders fan. I can definitely afford to see them play on most nights with the exception of big rivalry games and playoffs.

ESPN is straight up trash and you can tell they rather see them loose. They blab on about something not game related when a ranger scores and then they say (whoever it is) puts it in and rangers win. No emotion, no nothing. They are all like that. It’s a crying shame msg can’t broadcast the second round and up like earlier years. Crying shame. I can only imagine Sam’s call on this goal.

In the 70s 80s I would catch 10-15 games a season at MSG. The crowd looks very yuppie to me. Vito the pipefitter from Brooklyn has been replaced with Buffy and Skippy from Connecticut. With a couple of kids on cell phones all game.

@mergspvy saying he's a liability might not be the best choice of words but since he's been back from his injury his play hasn't been great and his drop to the third pair tells you all you need to know, he wasn't great tonight 3 penalties and a horrible turnover in the neutral zone that lead to guentzel goal when his game is on he's solid he doesn't take stupid penalties and he's not turning the puck over but I have a feeling that he might still be hurt and he's playing threw it that's why his play hasn't been great the last thing I want to do is criticize the captain he just needs to be better. I don’t think their style translates well. High volume low quality shots against elite goalies don’t really work. I mean they got swept by the Panthers last year.

They sure love their hockey at MSG. And ESPN is supposed to be a sports network. But 90% of their coverage is about the NBA. ESPN is awful.

This guy is the only announcer that could even come close to The Great Doc Emrick on national games. I'm jealous in America we get awful ESPN and TNT announcers and feeds!

Great job Sportsnet. It's a shame that every team can't have their broadcast locally after the first round. To me it makes the push for Lord Stanley that much meaningful.
