Ange fan here. Have to say, Bronckhorst has had less to time to put his stamp on Rangers than Ange did. I’ve watched his pressers and rate him as manager and man. When Celtic played Rangers first time at Ibrox, Rangers did not look at all superior to Celtic on the day. In my mind, were fortunate to win. Celtic were a makeshift team who had excellent chances that were fluffed. Rangers, as champions, should have been streets ahead. Your commentator who suggests there were problems already with the team is spot on, I reckon. His comments resonate with my views. Bronckhorst for mine has been working wonders in Europe considering the poison chalice he was served. Give him another transfer window before knifing him. Gerard left a ship showing the preliminary signs of sinking and Bronckhorst will need to re-float it, like Ange is doing. Ange has actually had more time to improve things than Gio has had. I was analysing the pre warm up and i dont know if any of you noticed but there was discomfort on Ryan Jack’s face before the game which says to me he wasn’t feeling good ahead of the game. You could argue that also in his performance he didnt seem so sharp or influential and the guy is key in these games like Macgregor is to Celtic
Celtic played as a team with spirit and played with everything for Thier manager , I said in a other video that Ramsey is too clever, I could see him asking for the ball and trying to link up and no one noticed or reacted quick enough.

It’s very simple. Rangers players are bottlers under pressure or when tagged as favourites. They’ve showed it the last 4 years. In Europe they are usually the under dog and that suits them, (often suits Celtic too, I know we are shite in Europe but usually the shite results come whenever we are favourites)

I agree with Jonny. We’re trying to succeed in Europe with a specific system that just doesn’t work in the domestic game. You saw GVBs preferred way of playing in the Feb old firm game. Way too stand offish , too wishy washy. I remember Gerard saying that “ we don’t waste time , we play multiple ball “ etc etc. , Waste time , do tactical fouling as you guys mentioned. Toughen up . Wise up. It was all our own fault yesterday. Shocking defending and I for one blame McGregor for the second goal. I think we’ve been poor since winning the old firm game last season at new year. That game for me sealed the title. After that win the form was really poor. We went out of Europe with a whimper against Prague. We lost 5 goals over the two legs in the previous games against Royal Antwerp. We had shocking performances against the likes of Hamilton . Gio knows what it takes to succeed domestically. You have to have bucket loads of desire, fight and energy etc. He hasn’t achieved that balance yet, but he’s only 4 months into the job. Yesterday we played into Celtic’s hands. We did nothing to make them uncomfortable. As I said before , yesterday was all our own fault.

We could’ve played for another hour yesterday mate and still not scored. I am so frustrated with the team. We can play outstandingly well in Europe, but as you say , invite teams like Ross County ( and Motherwell, Dundee Utd Aberdeen, etc etc ) to get back at us. Our domestic form is poor. On our day we can play , when the whole team are pulling in the one direction. Our central defenders have been the problem. Especially Goldson. Some say his head is turned by transfer talks etc, that’s an excuse. He never wins a header in his own box. McGregor , who is a legend at Ibrox, has reached the end of his top flight career. Any failings he had was always covered by better defenders. Not now. The thing is , and I’m sure you’d agree, we have taken on and beaten far better teams than Celtic this year. That’s down to Van Bronckhurst’s system which is better geared for Europe. You need dig and a bit of thunder for our domestic game. Gerard brought both. He had his European system, but also had the in your face , high tempo system for old firm games that worked . I’m not overly confident for Thursday night, but I’m more confident against Braga than the cup semi. GVB has to adapt , he has experience in old firm games , he knows what it takes. This squad has passed its peak, he needs to refresh and build his own team , which he will .
As much as I love Morelos we need to sell him this summer. We rely on him too much. We need new young and hungry strikers and should be building our team around the likes of Bassey.
Sakalas first touch and finishing is rank, massive rebuild in the summer and I'm not sure Gio's the man to spend millions in summer, we have needed a quality striker finisher for years
@@rfc5649 Sakala hasn't started anything. I think we see a different player if he is given that opportunity. By always using him as a sub with 20 mins to go, you are not doing his potential justice. Gio needs to add some variety. Too much predictable playing from the back and never changes things unless we are down. If Celtic had been up at the break he woulda made those necessary changes but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Far too delayed with making the big decisions imo

We've had a dip in form by too many players, barasic, goldson, Tav, Kent, Aribo - coupled with injuries, Hagi, Jack, Davis and players starting to show their age Davis, McGregor, and let's not forget we sold Patterson.
Celtic fan here. Celtic did not win this comfortably and were lucky to carve out a win, McGregor and Hart had a big influence on the game but no one mentions them. Had Mcgreggor come off his line and grabbed the ball bossing the box as he used to then the game swings the other way. Celtic impoded last season but admitedly you win every game and sweep the opposition aside you deserve to win the league. How ever big pats on your own backs well yes but there was that major issue at Celtic. Nobody saw Celtic under Ange Postecoglou rebuilding and coming back so quickly this season. New Year seems to jinx Rangers because after it the foot seems to slip off the gas pedal.

How many players have made a difference that were signed in the last 4 windows? Yet the majority of their players have hit the ground running and they don't even have a director of football. And this saying that our team has run its cycle, the core midfield for them rogic and mcgregor have been there longer than any of our players and up until December we had their number in the previous 7 or 8 old firms. 3 out the last 4 seasons we have collapsed in January and key players are now a shell of themselves, major clear out required in the summer but I don't trust the men at the top to recruit the right players. If we sign 10 in the summer you will be lucky if 2 are good enough.
Celtic's tactics have changed. Callum McGregor has played well in quite a few derbies both before and after Stevie g was at Ibrox. He has scored 4 times against rangers. Rogic now has 6 goals in Glasgow derbies. He is now playing for a manager he knows well and who can get the best out of him. That has resulted in his return to form.
Also in the second half I believe the idiot that threw the bottle also helped Celtic as I believe the tactics would've been to come out firing then when the game stopped they lost their mojo

As a Celtic fan, I think you’re being harsh on the players. Kent was outstanding, the midfield was in control until they were looking to Roofe. Not exactly aware of his positioning too often. A draw was written all over that game if he could hold his line. Lundstrum was quality but Jack , until he lost it was dominating. Ramsay, apart from the goal, not the same player he once was. Not too much wrong with the game plan but no team is going to give it your own way. No side can have an issue with the refereeing. Collum let play go. He pulled up what he needed to.
Kent was utter crap? As a Celtic fan it was a close game and could’ve gone the other way but we did have by far the better chances. Rangers front 3 were terrible

Honestly no disrespect I am a Celtic supporter but I believe that you are giving morelos too much credit. In Europe he gets more space to play than in Scotland. So his return is better, you dont get that time in Scotland, a striker who is your best striker , how many games has he played against us and what's his return? Hes a good player but I'd have Kyogo before him every time. Too many times morelos has failed to turn up in the derby. His record against us is awful for a player of his standing . Look at Rogic , a midfielder who has a far better return than morelos in goals in derby matches and that speaks volumes. You cannot rely upon the one striker at Celtic we have Giakoumakis, maeda, Kyoto, Abada, jota who will score goals. I'm not here to troll I like to hear both sides review. I hope you do well and reach the semi final beat braga. theRangers will have to play much much better than that to stand any chance of going through though.
Pedro 55 terrible transfer windows have cost us, no drive in midfield apart from Ramsey and he was blown after 60 mins. We need more goal scorers and we have shot ourselves in the foot. We looked weak and short of ideas.
