@johnbouwens2024 Yeah for sure! Unless you were some kind of super cool cowboy in the late 1800s before you turned 70 in the 20s LoL Hope you are having a Merry Christmas!
Just discovered this...my 5 year old granddaughter watching now...I grew up in the 60s and Rudolph used to air on or around my Birthday...so many memories...thank you for this Christmas gift....and remember Jesus is the Reason for the Season....MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄
@@daughterofTheLion That's awesome! I just turned 31 on the 22nd and I'm still driving my first car I got for my 18th birthday. Its a lime green 68 Plymouth Satellite "Roadrunner" clone with the "6 pack" hood scoop. I put the engine in it myself and Car Craft Magazine picked it as one of the top ten budget builds of the 2018 Hot Rod Power Tour! People ask me to sell it all the time but I could never part with it.
@@daughterofTheLion Also just wanted to mention I tried to use as many ads that actually said "Merry Christmas" as I could find. I also included The Star Of Bethlehem cartoon near the end to follow up everything with a more accurate depiction of the story of the birth of Christ. And I also included the famous Hanukah blooper near the end too because it is not only hilarious but it is also extremely informative about the real reason for Hanukah. I honeatly think it sucks how much the true meaning for the season has eroded over time.
Growing up in the seventies as a young teenage man was the best of times, so as were Christmases and our Christmas movies, each day we all go older from the 70s and a lot of Us wish those days were still here.
I love all these commercials and all these for me. As a young child and a young teenager and there for my son as a young child. I just love him. I wish we could see him again on regular TV of course, there is no regular TV anymore. I thought I was just an old lady who liked these things. But as I read the comments , i'm not alone , so many people love them and bring happiness to them and a smile on your face , thank you
All I can say is WOW..... born 1961... So grew up during the late 60's early 70's what wonderful memories.... I remember maybe 6th or 7th grade getting the tv listings for all the Christmas specials... Since there was only three tv stations it was awesome waiting for those days to see all those Christmas shows .... Thank you for this creator!
Born in 65, I really miss these days, kids playing in front of their houses, family was so important, I love these shows thank you for bringing me back to a time that was very special for me, only me and my younger sister are left. Now is my special place, only a memory, but I can visit whenever I want to
@Fubu Beast I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Best wishes to you and your sister. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and are having a Happy New Year so far!
@KKJournals Same here, you are most welcome and I'm glad you found something in this. It took forever to edit it all together and I'm glad it was worth it.
THANK YOU! I grew up in this era! THIS IS MY WORLD! THANK YOU for this wonderful, sweet, INNOCENCE and ARTISTIC world of these beautiful characters! Kimberly

@theidiotbox2000 "Christmas Comes But Once a Year" and "Toy Tinkers" are definitely worth mentioning. They are the last two though so they don't exactly need a timestamp. Thanks for watching! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
I feel sad.😪 I wish I was a kid again.😪 I have fond memories of watching these movies and wonderful commercials.🥰 Thank you for bringing this 57 yr old a tear to his eye.😪
Nostalgia can certainly be a rollercoaster of emotions. I'm only 31 but I have a rough idea of how you feel. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year too!
Yea me too. People dont understand why I have tears when I see these memories come back. I always thought of the future and how great it will be grown up. I never knew that these were some of the best times-when television was...really good-and would never come back again.
@TheThrillofTheThrift No problem, I'm really glad to see it was so nostalgic for you! My mom was born in 61 and my dad was born in 64 so I had a lot of their advice on what ads to use. I even had some of these toys as a kid, like a Lite Brite, Evel Knievel, Lionel trains and more. Although they were modern versions or in some cases nostalgic remakes. Thanks for the nice comment, I hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
Growing up in the 70's was a special gift..... Life was free and easy roaming around all hours of the night on my Schwinn orange Krate & sweet blue Varsity 10spd and my very rare.... orange Raleigh 10spd Chopper 😁 Yes... bikes were a big part of this 70's kid life, and those 3 were my favorites ! I used them for a trip for pinball & pizza a trip to the joke or hobby shop, an afternoon of football, baseball, basketball, or the lost art of bowling (candlepin).... I wish kids today could experience only half of that amazing 70's magic 🙂 Thank you... this video brought back so many memories 🎄🎅
@lynnstash2247 Awesome! My mom and dad are in their 60s and they helped me pick most of the content I used! Dad picked most of the ads and mom picked most of the cartoons except the oldest ones at the end which dad showed me and I put it all together in a video editing program. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I wasn't even born when this type of television was the norm, but I truly wish we could go back to it. Things seemed so much more wholesome and good natured than the drek that's so pervasive nowadays.
It is so uplifting to see that more and more people are turning from the chaos and nonsense that seems everywhere. Merry Christmas-tide and a Happy New Year to you and yours.
. This brought back so many childhood memories. I had totally forgotten about The Little Drummer Boy and the moral of that story, how the boy learned that it was wrong to harbor the hatred that he did, in spite of what happened to him and his family. To quote the narrator, "All hatred is bad". A message which resonates today with all of our division over race, religion, politics, etc.
Omg I was born in 1970 and ..this is so nostalgic... oh the carefree days ..beafore we had to acknowledge such evil in the world...when we had some false sense of security ..and we were so blessed in our land and in our innocence.. and are the last ones to know what it was like to be natural ! Boy how things change so drastically each decade is like a different world.. thanks for the memories.. who ever uploaded this ..and appreciated the fact that others would appreciate this.. God bless ..
I agree with this post so much ..I was going to post something but this says EXACTLY what I am thinking and feeling right now..I miss this time so much but I’m forever grateful that I got to experience it ❤
I graduated in 82 and I remember all these very well. We. were lucky to live in the 70’s and 80’s . They really were the best of times for my generation. America was in a much better place back then. We never had shootings. I do remember however, the Tylenol scare and it was a HUGE thing and it started the seal everything movement. We had great TV and movies and family got together for dinner every night. We waited to watch shows that came on. I was just telling my mother the other day how she use to require us to call here from the pay phone before and after the move at the mall and we would go to the arcade room and deposit quarters to play a game. And we got our soda from glass bottles that we had to return to get a nickel back. We played outside, went on a lot of great picnics, went camping and did not have air conditioning so we went to sleep with the windows open at night and we just dealt with it. We never had to wear helmets and padding to ride our bikes and we climbed tress and made forts in the forest and we turned out just fine. Yes sir! I would go back and do it again if I could. We were very lucky to have lived then. It truly was a much better time not only for me, but for our country. My first job was at a mall working for McDonald’s and then the Gap. My generation has seen so much from technology advancements to all manner of disasters. Every time you turned the TV on back then you would see commercials for, made in America! or the words in the USA!. it really was about our country! Things were not at all instant and we waited for the night of the week movies to come on. But then ,unfortunately, greed took over when Kmart came into play followed by Walmart and nothing but ‘made in China’. Here we are today in 2023 where the networks are openly at each other‘s throat’s and the country is divided not to mention morals and values have gone straight to hell. I’m actually glad I grew up during that time. I have very very fond memories of holidays, season changes and summer vacations. The kids today hide behind a machine all day long, it’s so sad what has happened to humanity. It’s disgraceful what’s happening to our country and our government. I feel sorry for the new generation of kids it’s just terrible.
@InFltSvc Thanks for this awesome comment, I appreciate being able look back into that era and your life through your eyes. I was only born in 91 myself but I can see things going downhill. I'm resisting the downward spiral myself by trying to a lot of keep old traditions and concepts alive. This video is just one of many things I do to preserve nostalgia and Americana.
@Tricia Slone I'm glad you enjoyed it! I recently fell in love with it myself, a lot of the scenes are very uniquely animated. Like the opening scene where the "camera" looks down at the houses in the city and the scene where the "camera" looks down into the graveyard and the tombstones almost look three dimensional and the part where Ghost of Christmas Past takes Scrooges hand and they fly away. I'm gonna have to watch the 51 version tonight or tomorrow night, I had never heard of it until now and knowing that they used the same Scrooge has me eager to see it!
The '71 version is my favorite animated version. But hadn't seen it in decades. So thankful for this video to revisit an old classic. I've probably seen the '51 version. But after I finish watching this video, I'll look that one up.
My 28 year old son told me today I really want to watch all the old Christmas cartoons you used to have us watch when we were little. I sent him this link, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Merry Christmas!
@aniboo72 I did the same a few times when making it. Somehow these ads and cartoons hold a very powerful feeling. I hope you are having a Merry Christmas!
I am so grateful that I grew up in the 70's! The 70's had the best cartoons, commercials, toys, bands & horror movies! I'm all choked up! Thank you for giving me this great Christmas gift!
@HumongousFungusAmongUs! You're most welcome, I'm really glad you enjoy the vid! There was definitely a lot of great stuff going on in the 70s! I absolutely love the cars and trucks and entertainment from that era! I was born in 91 but my parents shared so much of their past with me that I ended up really interested in 60s-70s culture. Thanks for watching/commenting! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
Although I can appreciate your opinion of a great decade, I believe the 80's rocked it! Something tells me most of us will believe that whatever decade we had the most childhood memories, the most feeling of being carefree and open to the world, a much LESS COMPLICATED world. Again I always wish my sons could visit the 80's, they get an idea when I describe it but what a gift that would be! Merry Christmas!
@@keithfloydjr4014 The 80s were great, way better than these crazy times! I still prefer the cars of the 60s/70s though. A 1970 Dodge Charger/Challenger R/T had 390 horsepower stock and only weighed 3700 pounds which is 700 pounds less than the 4400 pound 2020 Dodge Charger/Challenger and the modern version actually comes with less horsepower too, only 370 HP unless you order the rare expensive factory supercharged "Hellcat" Version. For comparison a 1984 Dodge Charger had only 97 horsepower stock. There was a lot of cool stuff going on in the 80s but performance cars were really suffering.
@Impactjunky oh absolutely when it comes to vehicles, the muscle car days of the 70's has the upper hand. For me the 80's were great because rock music dominated popular culture, we could still make fun of one another without getting "butt hurt" and because we didn't take ourselves so seriously. OL "RR" was in the White House, showing the world its the USA's way or the highway- all the great new toys, gadgets, video games began to arrive (although it went too far IMO, now it dominates negatively) it just was a decade of innocence and comfort for me, being a young man helped, no responsibilities YET. Live sports still packed stadiums, no empty seats anywhere! I could go on! Have a Merry Christmas!
I started with Rudolph and i love the addition of the commercials. I won't be skipping thru these commercials-I'll savor them. Takes me back to the late 70s and the sponsor billboard, delicious!
@IDPhotoMan My mom and dad are about 60 and they helped me pick a lot of the ads and shows I used making this special. My mom still likes to watch these shows every year and dad has picked up the tradition from nostalgia too. Dad picked a lot of the ads and mom picked most of the cartoons. Thanks for commenting! Hope you have a Merry Christmas this year!
I can't believe you could load over 7 hours of video on RU-vid. Anyway, I'm a Boomer and really appreciate you putting this up reminds me of my childhood
I was born in 76.. so i just caught the tail end of classic wholesome Americana. Many were reruns, but they played all the greatest ones. Now they dont play any good classics, other than a few . Its so sad now in this world 😥
@@Impactjunky kids today are bombarded with disgusting internet videos like people chopping heads off, and opioid epidemic, mass homeless.. the world is hard for the children. That's why i hate when people talk crap about millennials.
Thank you for this amazing video. Brings back the wonderful days of my youth. I can remember the excitement I felt every year when these " Specials " were coming on. Unlike these days, we didn't have the internet and access to "everything" at all times of the year. Boy the big changes in 50 years, Wow!! But Thank you for bringing back great memories of our past!!
You're most welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm only 31 but I didn't have internet or cable until I was an adult and I have also never had a personal vehicle newer than an 86 model, so I feel like I can relate. Thanks for the good comment! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
The KMart Christmas jingle was awesome as a kid. So glad i was a little kid in the 70s. In my soft footsie pajamas and a big sugar bowl of cereal watching these on a big wood box holding the tv on tge floor
@user-hz2gc6jl7f Awesome! I tried really hard to clean up the audio in the old Kmart ads with an audio editing program to make sure you could hear it as good as possible. I knew a lot of people would remember it. I cleaned up the audio in many of the other ads too for the same reason, they used to have LOADS of hiss and fuzz but luckily I managed to remove a lot of it without damaging the rest of the audio. Thanks for the nostalgic comment, I hope you have a Merry Christmas by the way!
Rankin-Bass was the king of children's stop-action production throughout the Sixties. Actually brings a tear to my eye to see it once again as I had the original broadcasts
Own all these on bluray (all fans should!) Was born in 1975 , Thank God - we had Best Movies, best toys, best cartoons, best music. Long live the late 70’s, and 80’s decade. Awesome job including all those great ads!!! Now how do we get back there?
@michaelanderson2886 Thank you! It took an unreal amount of time to track all this stuff down and edit it all together so I'm really glad to see that you and so many other people seem to appreciate it so much! I hope you have a Merry Christmas! Maybe if we're good we'll get time machines!
@@Impactjunky oh I bet it did and took a great amount of patience! But well worth it! So yes thank you for providing it and putting in the work! My teenage daughter watched with me and loved as well! And yes I keep having hope for time travel! Maybe we will?God bless and Merry Christmas 🎄 🙏🏻

@fig1954 No problem! I didn't just post it though I completely remade it all from separate ads and clips and stuff in a video editor. It took forever LoL
The commercials in some ways are better than the shows. Like the Santa in the Norelco shaver head. I remember my brother asking if that was actually how Santa really traveled. 😄😄
LoL my dad remembers the Norelco ads very fondly too. They may not have even made it in here if it wasn't for him! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year too!
