2024 NFL Power Rankings: AFC West Defenses 

This Raiders defense is going to be in the running not for just the best in the division, but the best in the NFL. After AP took over they were #1 in scoring defense. Tyree Wilson was coming off a college injury last season and took him half a season to get his legs under him. Malcom Koonce, whom you did not mention, was the other defensive end opposite Crosby and got eight sacks. They moved Wilson inside in order to keep Koonce in there, but also so Wilson could work on his hand-fighting techniques. He was much improved by the end of the season. He worked all offseason, and if you look at any pics of him now he looks like a freaking monster. Add in the underrated Adam Butler (whom they resigned), and John Jenkins (also resigned), both at DT, and they have arguably the best DL in the league. The LBs and DBs are also good and should even be better given that the DL is even better now. The only question remains is who will start opposite Jack Jones--second-year speedster Jakorian Bennet, or the vet Facyson. Personally, not really worried about having AOC at QB. He worked all offseason on getting out of the pocket and throwing on the run, which was really the only thing they told him to work on. He's a got a strong and accurate arm, and finished the last five games with 9TD and 1INT. They totally fixed the offensive line and added Bowers to the weapons they already had (WR Adams, Myers, Tucker,TE Mayer, RB ZWhite). We Raider fans are salivating at what might be possible.

As a raider fan I finally have a valid argument to say our defense is 1 in division and can be top 5 next year 😭🙏🏼

I think this is fair. The difficulty deciding between 3 and 4 is understandable. But I have to admit my bias towards the Raiders. We will see what happens, but I think the offense under Aidan is going to surprise people. I really don't think the defense is going to "give up" so easily. I think the defense knows that they are an integral part of the success. If they can hold the opposing offense to a low score, that gives the offense a chance.

Fair ranking as things currently sit. I believe the raiders defense will really separate themselves this year.

Spagz is the only Def Cord to win 4 rings... everyone forgets he's the Def Cord that stopped Brady's perfect season when he was with the Giants, nobody is better in big games. Raiders Def is better than most think, their Off consistently puts them in tough positions, not allowing the Raiders to capitalize on their talented Def. If the Raiders had Carr still, the Raiders would be competition for KC for the AFC West.

Ok but for the raiders you didn't mention spillane, butler who did a fair amount of dusruption himself, nate hobbs and unbelievably you forgot malcom koonce who statistically played better than crosby this last season!

The Raiders defense finished #1 last year and picked up Wilkins and that's with a rookie that turned over the ball less than vet QBs what did KC defenceman do last year?

Re. the Broncos: you've said "Chubb" now for the second time. He is long gone. The "drama" we had last year was signing Frank Clark late and deciding that Randy Gregory didn't fit. Chubb has been with the Dolphins for two years! I will say that the reason the Broncos aren't higher is because of the unknowns. I expect the starting safeties to be PJ Locke and Caden Sterns. I expect the starting ILB to be Alex Singleton and Jonas Griffith. But don't sleep on Drew Sanders. The third CB is a question mark, I think, but not Levi Wallace. I hope it's Riley Moss. But we have options, so well see. I happen to believe the Chiefs have holes too and unknown or untried parts. We'll see.

This is a power ranking prediction disguised as a defensive ranking lol. You mention three times how you feel the raiders offense could hold back how good the defense will be. This type of analysis doesnt fit in this type of video. One argument is how good they are and the other is how good they're gonna be.

"your defense isnt the best because of your quarterback", okay sure, but that would imply someone on our defense doesn't have the stamina or motor to play 100% with their hair on fire for extended time. Name one player on our defense who doesn't have stamina.

Like most of the people here, you need to swap 1 and 2. Raiders are hands down the best D in the division. Just look at the stats once AP took over as HC. And we have Wilkins now.

Did we forget that the raiders got christian Wilkins. The d line alone will be number 1 then that'll make our back end top 5. So we'll be the number 3 defense in the league. Chiefs can suck one!!!

The Raiders, if healthy, will easily have the best defense in that division. If not the entire NFL.

I was going to subscribe but the fact u put the raiders defense at 2 is crazy. They were a better defense than the chiefs. We didnt lose any and we gained a lot. Just kidding i subscribed but we will show you and everyone we on the way up.
