i staunchly disagree with this ranking. texas is obviously the correct #1 choice but i feel pennsylvania, north carolina, and ohio were shockingly disrespected and i think michigan shoulda been higher. oklahoma obviously saw panhandle bias from u being in florida. please keep making content so i can continue to feel such strong emotions.
Is a college student-esque looking man, ranking all of the US states based solely on their shape in the middle of the night in a swampy forest a common Florida occurrence?
"Maine has gotta start putting some cities in the rest of the state." Northern Mainers: "If Portland takes one step closer, it's gonna find out what my bullets can do!"
Iowa's border was going to be 2 rivers and 2 latitudes, the most elegant border in the world, but the guy who traversed the border to define it fucked up and now the SE corner is jumbled up. #1 if not for that if you ask me.
Its alright, a state that fits in the top 20 for sure. Inland states have the disadvantage of having over straight line borders which makes the shape really boring.
as an Oklahoman I have to thank you for the respect you put on my state. nobody does panhandles like us and ours is so empty it loops around from being depressing to being cool again
Excellent video! What a fun idea. I've become a sucker for geography lately so this was an exciting list. My New York bias was a bit disappointed but can't argue with Texas.
i am just impressed by the fact there isnt an unbearable cloud of insects bombarding you by the end, considering youre pointing a bright ass light towards the middle of what looks like a swampy woodland of some sort
Very sad about your #50 spot. We've got a lot of neat historical quirks hidden in our state's shape (bootheel and Platte Country). Worth mentioning that KCMO was named before the state of Kansas, which I think bumps it a place above Kansas' rectangularity.
Having used to have lived in Georgia, I can attest that Atlanta to Chattanooga is a deceptively long drive. Completely agree with Georgia being at 36, super blasé shape that looks too similar to misery... I mean Missouri. Seriously, go look at their state highway shields Also, love Louisiana at 9, love my adopted home state ⚜️🟣🟡
Thank you! You have to understand that I started around midnight because I wanted the woods dark, but it turned out that drawing each state takes surprisingly long; add setting up my laptop, two cameras, two lights, and the chair and table and I was there from about 12-4:45am
im so glad you put missouri in last place. it pisses me off that kansas city and st louis are classed as missouri cities instead of the neighbouring states'. easily my least favorite state, fuck missouri
