@@sam-s6oApparently those are 72 different types of spells... But you know what, they really just need to add 8 or 18 more spirits in the DLCs for that.
I'm so happy to see the Earth Wolf so high on the list. I used him one time and saw his passive and took me until near the end of Ch 3 to switch off it when I went Spellbinder.
Azure Dust has a very fun perk: Erlong won't actually do anything but be vaguely entertained by you turning into a literal fucking rock, and will just stand there as you headbutt your transformation and his poise bar away. Due to Erlongs ability and likelyhood of knocking all other transformations, it makes it the best transformation bar absolutely fucking none for him, because he literally just stops the fight if you go neanderthal and lightly chuckles as you ram into him a dozen times. Every other transformation offends him to his core, but the stone monkey turning into a rock has him going "Understandable, have a nice day"
It’s weird every other transformation he insults it the dead or makes fun of you. But when you transform into azure dust he gets almost “petty” he basically starts saying “detransforms and fight me like man” as if he throwing a trantrum while’s playing smash against his brother. Azure won me that fight
Fun fact about the Stone Monkey, the life saving thread you get in NG+ DOES work while you are him. He'll get right back up with full focus and health. However, it doesn't refill the might bar.
I've gotten so burnt out on not just souls games but hard games as a whole. However I will still watch this because Rusty is entertaining to watch. I will have absolutely no idea what he's talking about but I need something to watch.
Wukong isn't that hard for the most part. I killed most bosses in 1-3 tries. But the harder bosses will still fuck you up, so you might want to stay away from that game until you want to play a hard game again. But it's really great, I can only reccommend it.
@@techdeth I never said I was bad at games I said I'm tired of playing hard ones. I beat almost every boss in SOTE on new game +7 which means a third more health and staggering just doesn't happen. I just want to take it easy for awhile.
@@zelatoth Damn bro no one said you were bad, you got defensive so quick... Maybe you do need to step back and play some easier games, Not EVERYONE is tryna challange you.
i haven't played the game and didn't even know what the spirits or transformations were before watching this video, but i'd play a whole game as Ebon Flow that design is sick as fuck.
It is amazing. And he can block which is awesome. I wanted to use only him but the Umbral Abyss monkey transformation worked way better for me. Hits much quicker and freezes the opponent
The Crow diviner is actually one of the best in the game.. It carried all the way until chapter 5 (I have all kinds of chill resistance). The mist that he created are like the second inmmobilization, as long as the enemy stay in there the whole time, you can spam spin attack while gain the qi back in seconds cause they will get frosted. And then it is just infinite immobilization because it will at least frost them twice. All love and please try it urselves :)
Absolutely. Crow diviner is top 10 at minimum. Its biggest drawback (self frost) is countered by an easily craftable item with dirt cheap materials, or 100+ frost resistance through celestial pills. The only reason it isn't indisputably the best spirit in the game imo is that it doesn't physically hit anything, so it doesn't proc the golden set helm. Crow diviner is top 3 for me easily.
If you are able to build up 3 focus points with Yellow Loong transformation, the fully unleashed heavy attack (which can keep going for three times) will deal INSANE damage, like it would wipe half of late game boss health bar. Surprised you didn't talk about this.
The crow diviner actually has extremely low Qi cost so if u use the gourd that gives u Qi on sips and make a frost build u can perma stun lock enemies I saw one guy beat Erlang by spamming Crowdiviner and cloud step or Crow diviner and immobilize.
Oh, and here's another tip: The needle vessel applies the eggs from Violet Hail, so you don't even need to actually be in damage-taking range. Just pop the vessel, pop the transformation, hold the eggstab button until your HP is low, and then pop it. Enjoy remote nuking bosses with poison mines and getting your entire second healthbar refilled at range.
@elviraweekes3906 Ebon Flow, Golden Lining, and Azure Dome are so good that I've barely used anything else after obtaining them. Always looking for interesting hidden interactions like this one with the Needle and Violet Hail, though.
@@blackhat4206 The one thing I can think of is seeing whether anything has odd interactions with Pluck of Many or summon spirits. I don't think Violet Hail interacts the same way with anything other than the needle though... Which makes me suspect it's an easter egg-type thing that was specifically thrown in for lore reasons? I mean, you can't use Ring of Fire in water at all, and there are other little interactions like that based on "actually yeah that makes sense".
@@FelisImpurrator Some things I’ve noticed: Azure Dome absorbing fire and ice to change the attack buff also changes depending on whether immobilize or ring of fire is equipped. Windwalker from the Ebon Flow transformation seems slept on, as well. Gold Button is a snapshot you can unequip and retain the buff as long as you remain full health, and the potent Preservation Orb curio effect is triggered by the Incense Trail talisman. Another good combo less obvious than the Jade Moon Rabbit + Gold Sun Crow is the Deathstinger plus Rooster Blood soak dropped by Duskveil which instantly removes the poison and provides 2 buffs. Qing Tian gourd in Ng+ with the Boshan Censor curio is my new favorite combo.
Crow diviner is top 10 minimum, full stop. It stacks frost insanely quickly, has a low Qi cost when upgraded, and has ridiculous synergy with one of the best sets in the game. Its main drawback (you can frost yourself) is entirely countered by a medicine made from two of the most common materials in wukong. Crow diviner allows you to stunlock any boss in the game, even better than aparajma bat, with a ridiculously low chi cost to boot. Putting it mid I can understand if you haven't toyed around with it much, but putting it at 2nd worst in the game is down right ignorance. Love you and your content Rusty; I been subbed since the early days. However, you done messed up with crow diviner :(
Earth Wolf is my favorite spirit, used it 90% of my 3 time runs because: 1- the damage is so good when upgraded. 2- has the best passive in the game IMO, literally never run out of focus points with this i highly recommend it
So many noobs just using Wandering Wight and missing the attack half the time lmao. Meanwhile, Earth Wolf is as fast, staggers into a full knockdown most of the time, and is very accurate.
Putting horse guy so low is criminal, he's basically the only one I used late game because using the flame ring was just so good with it, you could manage to pop 4! of his rings off and the lightning hits stagger enemies.
Ashen Slumber is the best spirit in the game for exactly one thing... Grinding enough sparks to justify actually investing in any other transformation. Just running up to a bunch of spider sacks and exploding over and over pays for other, better transformations eventually.
rusty just know that you're my favorite eat to and do other stuff in the background to ever and I watch this even knowing nothing about wukong. please never stop talking you're very fun to listen to, and your videos are always uploaded right when I need something to watch
Hoarfrost meta is to build three focus points up first then transform. Immediately giving you the biggest possible snow field creation with the ability with a big burst of status then you can keep throwing smaller ones till fully frozen if not already, then heavy and repeat. And umbral abyss is still my favorite transformation for my frost build. I had almost zero problems with every fight my first blind playthrough. (Including all secret bosses)
Strand of life being on the transformation of stone monkey and when u of de-transformation u still keep strand of life active is another reason why its the best, especially on a transformation build.
Azure dust is s tier just cause it confuses a certain secret boss where he will stand still like a confused todler instead of instantly shooting his detransform beams😂
Day 27 of asking Rusty to rank every enemy in Elden Ring. If you could rank all the weapons, the enemies should be no issue for you. You know you want to do it, I know you want to do it. Don't back away now.
The Dragonfly spirit actually has a quite useful passive if you are wearing the Qi set. Also, the earth Rakshasa is alwways a good option if doing high NG+.
1:52 genuinely the most insane placement for the spirit I used for the whole playthru u can just spam it while getting ur relic back if u spin to win on the enemy also never had trouble getting a freeze it is rather annoying that it slows you down too
The Lantern Holder is for your farming set. Golden carp, treasure island mask, flora pin thing from the rock merchant and I forgot the other one. Basically gear up, use the ashun slumber transformation at the clusters of cocoon near the jade shattered pond shrine whenever you run into a boss that’s outright kicking your butt.
You forgot to take in consideration Style Points. Wandering Wight Headbutt is just the best and only acceptable way to kill a boss (The slow motion at the end is just peak game design)
Ashen Slumbers main use is with is self destruct, there's a specific spot in chapter 4 (forgot which shrine) where the self destruct makes an insanely fast exp farm
I did notice the spirits seem to get buffed by raw attack... Or at least, the Dark Iron Staff does it. Turning the giant ball into 6k+ free damage is a good time. Wonder if it can somehow salvage some of these garbage spirits.
A lot of people are spell binder builds. So they only care about the passive. Late game, the damage of the spirit just doesn't matter if a single light attack can crit 800.
Oh great, now he's ranking the same abilities, skills, and enhancements for other games. Still waiting on Elden Ring Blades of Grass from worst to best...
Centipede Guai actually does have one use..the passive movement speed increase. You can make your character almost twice as fast when you pair the right spells, equipment and gourds. What good is this? Farming to collect all the seeds you need because ow its a painful thing to do and this just makes the pain go away faster. Also its just really fun to just drink a gourd and animation cancel with cloud steep with the result being you zooming off at a speed so dumb enemies literally can't hit you. You can almost running through the whole game drinking from checkpoint to check point!
Bosses/enemies in games like this have target lock/projectile lock like a MOFO, so it’s pretty sad when character projectiles can’t have that same target lock
I gotta disagree with a few of them. Mainly umbral abyss, umbral abyss can pull out some insane dmg and insane frost buildup its actually really good and i think it should be a little bit higher. Azure dome and golden lining are my 2 favourite transformations and definately the 2 most overpowered. I think golden lining is slightly better than azure dome just because its see through is so good and once you do that 3 focus point heavy attack the boss is basically dead. It is so damn good and i think azure dome and golden lining should swap places.
VERY minor nitpick. None Pure's weapon is actually a monk's spade/shovel, not a halberd. Also a minor trivia, Red Tide/Guangzhi in Chinese community is often nicknamed 'god father' for how early player can get him, and how he can carry the player through the entire game.
The centipede spirit actually has TERRIBLE poise even fully upgraded and if ANY enemy trash mob happens to be mid swing before you connect and hitstun them you will INSTANTLY be knocked out of the form. You need to trigger it from far enough away that they arent starting an attack animation and then you can knock them around like bowling pins but if you dont it completely goes to waste. Also... Rock Solid is sooooo NOT better than Cloud Step that that comment (which tbf is phrased sarcastically) is kinda laughable. I mean playstyle is to taste, but the main added bonus of Rock Solid besides a brief stagger is mana return... it doesnt allow you to wander off, play with yourself, have a drink and charge up a heavy from zero that is almost always gonna crit. Since I fully upgraded and used them both with their respective relic upgrades I've never taken Cloud Step off because it just has so much more utility with less limitations, it's much BETTER, than a parry with a cooldown window, especially when I can already get a counter with invulnerability from Resolute Strike or Tactical Retreat that also has q built-in powerful follow-up attack. Cloud Steps feels like an ACTUAL SPELL rather than an awkwardly implemented parry mechanic and it has breezed me through NG+ levels.
i used mad tigerr for my entire first PT once i got it then i switich to daoist for my second and third daoist is the best spirit because it can buff you then you can pluck and the clones copy your buffed stats and then get buffed again frombeing inside the light its so stupid
