As I’m just getting into elvis as a 22 year old from casual to serious, i picked up aloha from hawaii and on stage and they’re equally tied at the moment. I do love we’re getting the Elvis movie marathon on TCM so ill finally be able to see elvis on tour and that’s the way it is
Notice I didn't say 68 "comeback" special. The King never had to "comeback"...should have called it the '68 "reminder" special. Reminding the earth who is the King of Rock & Roll.
Mr. Ed. My favorites are as follows! 1. 1969s From Elvis in Vegas. 2. On Stage 1970 3. Aloha From Hawaii 4. Madison Square Garden 5. Elvis in Concert 6. That’s the Way It Is 7. Elvis Recorded in Memphis 8. Having Fun with Elvis On Stage. 😂🤣😅😅🤣🤣Man. You cracked me up with that one.
I agree with your order for the most part Ed. I would've put Elvis in concert 77 a little higher though. MSG has always been my favorite. Thinking about taking my original to Memphis to possibly get signed by James Burton, Glen Hardin, and Jerry Scheff who will all be there for Elvis week. Got my Recorded live in Memphis signed by James, Glen, and Ronnie (RIP) a few yrs ago.
I love to listen to that one having fun with Elvis on stage I left to listen to him joke and cut up with the audience I love his hearty laugh you take care Ed and God bless
Thanks Ed! I'm flattered you used my suggestion. This video gives me ideas for my next music purchase as I'm not familiar with the live albums. Super video!
I love all Elvis' live albums. Used to play the '72 MSG a lot and the Vegas '69 ('In Person' double gate fold). I used to visit many a record shop with my dad, remember seeing 'On Stage' with the collar-less jumpsuit. In 2015 I actually saw this suit at the Elvis exhibition here in London - that was really something.
My favourite Elvis album is That’s the way it is too. It’s good to know you love it as well and I think just like you, although there’s a bunch of songs recorded live, I consider it as a studio album.
Hey Ed. Another great video, man. Can you also do a video about you´re favorite FTD concerts? Dosen´t have to be LPs. Just favorite concerts on FTD. Keep up the good work.
It would be very difficult for me to place in favorite order Elvis’s live recordings. Every live album released by Elvis in Concert, On Stage, in any and all venues are my favorites.
I guess a few of us think the 68 Singer presents should be included - where that would rank is a difficult one, just because all the full live albums are so good.
😀 I almost choked on a spaghetti when you said " okay let's start with this peace of shit " i was eating and just glance on the phone 😂😂😂. To bad they didn't made a live album out of his Atlanta concert in 1975 who is a AWSOME concert, it always seems that he had a great energy when playing in Atlanta
Never have understood why the having fun on stage was even thought of yet alone released I've never classed moody blue as a live album as its just add ons to fill up the album my favourites live albums Aloha from Hawaii and madison Square garden hope you keeping well Ed Regards Robert from England
🇫🇷🙋♂️ Hello from France, I've been a fan of your channel for a long time, I appreciate it and I'm learning a lot of things. In fact, you made me want to create my own channel in France. You are welcome, have a great day!
My favorite live album was and is and always will be Elvis in person at the international hotel Las Vegas , Nevada you could just look at the cover and see how much fun Elvis was having still the best whether you or anyone else agrees with me that's my opinion I have a first pressing of from memphis to Vegas from Vegas to Memphis 2 of the best albums he ever recorded
It’s a great Album Gerald. Remember my friend. Opinions are like buttholes. Everyone has one and they ALL STINK!! I know, it’s a hack line, but also true. 🤣🤣🤣
Madison Square Garden! Fantastic! #1 all tough choices. Elvis talking on stage (it's a separate animal) is a great driving album on tape. Just great to hear Elvis talk, you gotta fall into it
Hi Ed well picked i myself have all them and from what i remember they are all orriganl the double Vages to Menphes but my copy of On Stage has nothing above the title and that 52 years ago OMG seems only yesterday .. And yes the Maddison Square Album of mine has no tracking which i like
😁 Great upbeat humorous video Ed ! I think I would pretty much go along with your running order with the live albums 👍 We have been very much spoiled for choice in recent years with all the FTD live recording that have surfaced.... My favourite period of live recording is still very much Vagas 69/ 70 ... I love the 11 CD box set live in 1969( incredible stuff ) Elvis was defo on top of his game by MSG in 72 though 👍 And for me the original concert album is not as good as Prince from another Planet 😮 But all great stuff ... Great video 👍
ED: I just revisited The old Ed. Sullivan show on RU-vid, showing Elvis at his beginning,. I think you should refresh your memory, and take a look at what the real Young Elvis,.looked like..Not only was he so gorgeous, but funny, charismatic , laughing all the time, and non-stop joking. I think that we tend to forget how Elvis was ,when he was younger.. i know it has nothing to do with your last video, which I loved by the way, I love all your videos, they are great , very well documented..and explicatives...but, I just wanted to share my toughts , that s all...
Hi Ed, i don't wanna be the Elvis nerd ... but Elvis' very first "Live Album" was RCA LPM 4088 "ELVIS (TV Special)" from 1968. 4 Live Shows in front of a audience recorded by RCA at Burbank TV Studios in California...Only a few parts of this Performances landed on this black Vinyl😉 @and the very first Live Song release ever was on the "Singer Presents Elvis singin Flaming Star and Others" USA RCA Victor Album PRS-279 in Nov. 1968. Imo could have been a cool 45rpm too: A Side: Tiger Man / B Side: Too Much Monkey Business
Your suggestion for a 45 would make no sense to the powers that be, imagine if we could get sumthin special like that, in the real world !!! Take care.
Hi Ed, I agree with you for the most part. I would say my favorite live Elvis album is also Live at MSG. Number two is a toss up between Aloha and his live in Memphis albums. And what about his live 68 comeback album. Are you not considering that a live album? I also love his post death live album An Afternoon In The Garden.
A 2 x platinum album cant be second to last. That's blasphemy! 🤘👑⚡TCB I get ur reason because I guess it was half live, but u had it n your stack ✌ Aloha #1
I am really surprised you would put "Moody Blue" and "That's The Way It Is" as real live albums, since the studio stuff makes these albums essential in having all of Elvis's studio sessions complete. Anyway, all fans hear these things differently, so there is no right or wrong answers. I think we can all agree that "Having Fun With Elvis On Stage" is terrible, but was strictly Tom Parker's doing. Myself, I always thought "Madison Square Garden" was a bit rushed, my least favorite of the original RCA releases. I decided to add some of the early live bootlegs, because without them, I would be missing a large piece of the puzzle. 1. 1968 NBC Television Special 2. Rockin' With Elvis On New Year's Eve 3. In Person From The International In Las Vegas 4. The Last Farewell, Indianapolis 6-26-77 5. Elvis On Stage 6. Elvis As Recorded In Memphis 7. Aloha From Hawaii 8. Elvis In Concert 9. Recorded Live At Madison Square Garden
My Top 5 would be: 1. Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis 2. On Stage February 1970 3. As Recorded At Madison Square Garden 4. At The International Hotel 5. Elvis In Concert I'm not a fan of the watered down sound on Aloha From Hawaii.
ED , you missed this by a mile!! Number one MOODY BLUE, and THAT'S THE WAY IT IS are not live albums. Yes they have live cuts , but some of his 70's albums have live cuts on them. If your going.to have them on your list then where is 68 COME BACK SPECIAL album? Nice try tho have a great week .
I suppose next time I’ll wait to watch the entire video. Lol. I just saw ur line up n thought hey what a minute lol. Thanks Ed. Always find ur videos entertaining and informative
Judging by only the audio performance...I don't think Aloha was that great. I rank MSG, On Stage, Elvis In Concert, International Hotel and Memphis 74 all better than Aloha.
