I think the Sage arc was off character: he refused to make a move on Jenny because she was two years younger than him, so it looked forced just to fuel Serena and Steven’s relationship

@@not-a-ghost2206 The actor (Chace) didn't feel comfortable kissing the actress (Taylor) due to the age gap, with her being 14 at the time. He was also watching out for her by doing that, so I can understand where he comes from. It's not about Nate and Jenny, they totally made sense to me
My favorites 1. Nate & Vanessa : simple, sweet, wholesome and genuine (minus the letter thing) 2. Nate & Blair : golden couple, dreamy, fairy tale but not passionate 3. Nate & Juliet : right person, wrong time (If it wasn’t for Ben she wouldn’t have to scheme and manipulate him) 4. Nate and Jenny : cute and sweet in season 2 but Jenny was desperate in season 3. Definitely not endgame 5. Nate & Serena : passionate, caring but Serena was emotionally unavailable and not connected. Nate deserves better
Serena and Nate's chemistry will always be unmatched (apart from Blair/Chuck and Serena/Blair) which is what makes it so sad the writers took that for granted and fumbled the ball so badly (like you said, the "emotional unavailability") when both Blake and Chace couldn't be around each other without tingling and butterflies.
As much as I think Nate/Jenny would have worked, I have to respect the writers for actually sticking to their “sister zoned” stance for them. I wouldn’t feel great if Nate suddenly switched up on how he thought about Jenny- from ‘sister’ to girlfriend…
It was never even established he saw her as a sister until they LOWKEY starting pushing that narrative in season 3. They were flirting with each other the full half of season 2
Dang tbh I was expecting you to put Jenny at #1 or #2 because I know how much you liked them together based on previous videos… I definitely would’ve put her above Vanessa personally, I couldn’t stand her and Nate together what so ever
One thing that bugs me so much about the Sage relationship is that she would never able to help him reflect and heal from his past trauma from Cathrine. Because to acknowledge that that relationship was toxic would've also acknowledged that Nate and Sage had an inherent power dynamic that they would probably never be able to overcome
I'd love love love to see more videos about the gossip girl reboot. I have to admit it's so ridiculous but i can't stop rewatching it, their thanksgiving episode was also really good in my opinion. They really tried their best to have a mmmhmm whatcha say moment lol
definitely agree with your top 3! i adored nate & vanessa together and prefer serena with dan for the same reasons as you. i wish we would have gotten nate and serena earlier and she wouldn't have left with trip when nate confessed his feelings to her.
Nate chasing Juliet after Blair and Serena owned her was the most himbo move. Chuck Bass would never have done that, especially not for some poor psychopath like Juliet. Plus, Raina was acted so beautifully but her character is also so annoying in how perfect she tries to be.
I have read somewhere that the writers initially do have the intention to write more about Nate&Jenny，but Chace thought Jenny was too young. I am not 100% percent sure with the truth in it.
i was curious who would be in the bottom cause i kinda remembered he was with lots of older women or just one for a long time? and yeah, didn't disappoint ! i feel like the age gaps don't get a bad rep cause the actors don't look their characters age so we tend to forget, especially if they portray adults behaviors (party, alcohol, no parenting on screen, etc)

i wonder how much was in the book with these, like did they bring in sage because taylor was going to leave the show as jenny? if so, was the actress playing sage actually an adult this time?
Alright, so I agree with your bottom rankings. I did not like his relationships with the older women and I didn't like his relationship with Sage either. She was too young for him. When it comes to your top choices, there are some I would switch around. I would probably have Jenny and Nate as number five and have Nate and Lola be number six because while I don't care for Jenny, I do like her better with Nate than Nate and Lola. Like I said, I think it was better to keep Jenny single so she could pursue her fashion career. Then I would have Blair and Nate at number 4 because I really did like them together. Obviously, they were not meant to be together in the end, but they did have some really sweet and cute moments together and I love their friendship. Even so, I did enjoy the times they were together and I like how they ended up still being friends despite everything. I do agree with Raina and Nate being number 3. I thought they were good together and could've been endgame but oh well. Now, when it comes to number 1 and number 2 you already know I would switch them around. As much as I love Vanessa and Nate together, I am a Serena and Nate Stan. I love Serena and Nate together. They have their cute and sweet moments and I think they had great chemistry. I do agree about Serena's character being ruined in the later seasons and hate how she treated him. I do agree if they had gotten together earlier with Dan out of the picture they could have been really amazing together. It's a shame they couldn't be endgame but like I said on the Dan video he and Serena were fine and I was okay that they ended up together. It is a real shame how Vanessa and Nate's relationship ended though because they were so cute together and I would have been so happy with them being endgame since he couldn't be with Serena. They really should have had Vanessa and Nate reconnect after the time jump and get back together. Ugh, such wasted potential. Oh well. I am also one of the few people who did like Vanessa if that wasn't obvious so I'm with you there. Anyway, great video.
