As a Canadian, I agree with you (Even though I am from Toronto). Canadians don't have an accent. 😢. BTW, I used to have a Nigerian Neighbor so I am used to Nigerian accents. Also I had an Kenyan neighbor and I am also used to Kenyan accent. Also it is puronced Ja - May - Ka.
