@@untitledjunk03 Its like an insider from WumpaLewis. The time when he raced against the dev times, he always said "flame's gone". Even Bennox made an reference to that in an livestream
How I'd rank the Crash mainline games: 1 - Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped 2 - Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back 3 - Crash Twinsanity 4 - Crash Bandicoot 1 5 - Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex 6 - Crash Tag Team Racing 7 - Crash Mind Over Mutant 8 - Crash of the Titans (It's only at the bottom 'cause it's the only one of these that I haven't played) I don't really hate any of these, in fact I really liked playing every single one of them and I still have good memories of these games
Wanna know a reason why it's the worst Crash game? Because of the game's timer, you can play the game without pushing a button (apart from when it's necessary) and potentially win. And also you don't get punished for anything. You can be in negatives and come dead last and still move on to the next board.
It really was a dark start to the series - basically, the Dr N's were genetically mutating local wildlife to create their own military force. I feel that from Crash 3 onwards, the series lost its focus on stopping Cortex's evil plots to just stopping Cortex because he's evil.
There is a unique vibe to the original game that even 2 and 3 didn't capture, the more minimalistic music and creepier level design definitely stands out. Also I do much prefer the sense of progression the game has while traversing the islands compared to later games' more perfunctory warp room system, it makes the game feel more like a proper adventure. If it didn't have that terrible save system and the stupidly difficult "no death" rule for getting gems I'd definitely consider it more on par with 2 and 3. I know the remake mostly fixed things but it didn't recapture the same atmosphere a lot of the time, the screwed up jumping/hitbox detection messed with certain levels and I really wish it'd done away with the no death rule altogether, not just for clear gems.
Even Uka Uka's character model in Wrath of Cortex looks... a little haphazard. Like, have you noticed how his eyes underneath the eyebrows are stuck in a permanent angry expression? Or how the red glow effect that follows him is basically a flat jpeg stuck to the back of the model, and that it has a hole in the center?
The real problem of Wrath of Cortex was both Gameplay Execution & Studio Meddling. I rather play the GBA games (Huge Adventure & N-Trance) then playing another second on Wrath of Cortex except watching the cutscenes despite the characters model had not age well.
Is Wrath of Corthex really that bad? I must´ve played a different game because to me it felt very similar to the original trilogy. Anyways i agree on #1 Warped is also my fave as it was the first one i've played and i appreciate the level variety, i would've gone with the first one if it wasn't too damn hard in some levels, and 2 was kind of samey but still awesome. Never played the other ones.
No it's not. These big youtubers are just unnecessarily harsh to it cause they don't like its age like milk graphics, but the gameplay is solid & the music is really good. Plus they think if it's worse than Warped then it's automatically bad which is silly cause Warped's already an amazing Crash game so something worse than it would just be decent. The hate this game gets in this community never makes sense, lol.
It’s because Wrath Of Cortex is just a worse version of Warped, but because Warped is your favourite Crash game, you automatically enjoy Wrath Of Cortex because it’s a very similar game, just not as good. However, for someone like me for example, Crash Warped is my least favourite out of the main trilogy, and Wrath of Cortex basically took what I didn’t like about Warped (vehicle levels, weird abilities) and just filled the game with it. So more vehicle levels, more weird abilities, and they are also not as good as Warped either. Warped vehicle levels weren’t great imo, but they weren’t bad necessarily. However, Wrath Of Cortex just made a ton of bad vehicle levels and filled a huge portion of the game with them. I wouldn’t say it’s that bad though. But that’s why most people don’t like it as much.
There’s no freaking way TWOC is that bad, in fact it plays to me like a slightly downgraded warped. Idk what this game did to you personally but I apologize on its behalf.
I agree with this, it's not great by any means but it's not the worst crash game I've played. Just don't play it on PS2 cause the loading times are shit.
I was turned off by the first world alone, the controls feel way to floaty, the ice physics aren’t as bad as crash 2’s but still stink, the gimmick levels suck, and that first boss is the love child of AIDS and cancer
Mainline: 8: Crash of the Titans 7: Wrath of Cortex 6: Mind Over Mutant 5: Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time 3: Twinsanity 2: Cortex Strikes Back 1: Warped Racing: 7: Nitro Kart 3D 6: Crash Tag Team Racing 5: Nitro Kart 2 4: Crash Nitro Kart GBA 3: Crash Nitro Kart 2: CTR 1: Nitro Fueled Party Games: 3: Crash! Boom! Bang! 2: Ripto’s Rampage 1: Crash Bash Mobile Games: 4: N-Tranced 3: Crash On the Run 2: Crash: Mutant Island 1: The Huge Adventure/Crash XS
Not bad choices honestly, though I still stand by that Wrath of Cortex gets way too much hate. I mean it's far from good, but one of if not the worst of console Crash games, I really don't see or even feel it. And besides if were to talk every single Crash game including the handhelds, Crash Boom Bang is by far more offensive to me than Wrath of Cortex. But hey, that's just me.
bruh fuck you mean it's far form good 😒🤦 it's by far easily top 3 crash games of all time probably 2nd best but yea it was a master piece idk how people can hate that legendary game
@@yohannesaklog5936 yeah... if i were to rank all mainline crash games, i'd put woc in my number 3. to me it was very fun and responsive, the plotline was very unexpecting to me with the elementals and stages that brought fun challenges.
I agreed with the list until the halfway mark. I personally feel that Crash Bandicoot Warped is the best, but I definitely wouldn’t put Crash of the Titans in the top 5. Also, I really like Wrath of Cortex because I get a cheesy laugh out of the elementals and it was the first console game I ever really played (I played it on the Xbox). With your criteria, my list is: Crash Bandicoot Warped Crash Bandicoot 2 Crash Bandicoot Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex Crash Bandicoot Twinsanity Crash of the Titans Crash Bandicoot Tag Team Racing Mind Over Mutant
I never had Wrath of Cortex crash on me. Also, most of the deaths I saw in the example footage were kinda the player's fault. Also, Wrath of Cortex was WAY better than Mind Over Mutant, just because of the lack of backtracking. I only played MOM once because the backtracking was so boring, but I've replayed WoC several times and even have both the American and Japanese versions. I also prefer WoC's music over MOM's. It's eons better. Also, Crash is not unresponsive, though that argument _can_ be made that at times the game has poor depth perception, like every game. Plus I have the original Crash Bandicoot and it's not fun to play.
i barely put CTTR above woc because i like CTTR's music way more than wrath of cortex, woc had genuenly good songs, but it also had avalanche so the music as a whole is 3/10
Cody Campbell Spyro Enter the Dragonfly but like WoC I don’t think it’s that bad like people say it is, that game also had a lot of cut content so I also wonder what the game would’ve turned out like if the developers were given enough time
Best to worst, in my opinion: 1./2. Warped (original and N. Sane) 3. Nitro-Fueled 4. Cortex Strikes Back (original) 5. CTR 6. Crash 1 (N. Sane) 7. Cortex Strikes Back (N. Sane) 8. Crash 1 (original) 9. Twinsanity 10. Huge Adventure 11. Wrath of Cortex 12. Bash 13. N-Tranced 14. Nitro Kart 15. Tag Team Racing 16. Purple 17. Boom Bang 18. Titans 19. Mind Over Mutant
I always noticed one of the biggest critiques of Warped(alongside the Vehicle thing) is that it's slightly easier than the prior games and just think "Well so was Super Mario World but everyone loves the Hell out of that now don't they?" So yeah I think it's the peak too, excluding the remakes.
Honestly with Crash 4 being a hard game according to those who've played it, having a Crash game like 3 that doesn't punish you too much and just wants you to have consistent fun, no matter if it's your first or whatever playthrough, is a good thing and gives me a reason to still play it despite being released in 1998. An easier game isn't automatically bad. Is the game simply fun?
@@ultrairrelevantnobody1862 Agree. I think that because of that difficult reduction (and many new fixes and new things to the gameplay) makes the most fun Crash experience along with CTR. Crash 1 and 2 has some frustrating levels that arent pretty fun in my opinion.
Eh.. I can't hate TWOC. It was my first game, made me in love with the series to begin with. I enjoyed replaying it But it's not a favourite, it is oversaturated with vehicle levels which have always my least favourite aspects of Crash Games. Polar/Pura running and the ball levels are my only favourites.
I knew crash warped would be #1 for sure. Especially with the theme music basically being thought as the main theme of the entire crash franchise. Man that theme song just knocked it out of the park. And playing the old version of the game and it’s music is forever great. Why, why did you make me Remember how bad mind over mutant and where you had to backtrack alot
Isn't crazy that a "clone" of Warped like WOC was able to have different level designs, themes, unique soundtrack in every level, new antagonists, fighting the same antagonist all game, Coco with platforming stages, different vehicles, vehicles to platforming transitions in levels, no backtracking, being able to easily slide under stacked crates, able to double jump at any time in the air, invincibility & death tornado spin in underwater levels, invincibility with vehicles, sneak on Nitros powerup, Coco life Icon and lets not forget no time traveling? Wow totally things that Warped had before am I right? Wrong Warped had none of that so WOC isn't a clone and made some improvements to the formula of the originals.
@@JaybillsGames WOC is a solid game that's clearly overhated due to its graphics. It's designed to play similar to the classics and it does a decent job at that. There are way worse Crash games after it starting with Twinsanity.
@@MSCLeap75 how the hell is the game hated due to its graphics??? The game doesn't look good by any means, but literally everything else about the game is bad lmao. It's barley even a platformer. More than half the levels have a vehicle in it.
I personally think Mind Over Mutants is a really good game I didn't really have issues with the camera or invisibility frames, the only major issue is backtracking, but the game had a lot of other good aspects the graphics were fun, the level design was actually pretty cool (some even reused for Crash 4 like the ice levels and stopping time), the titans had better designs and were overall better, the titans gameplay was way better than it was in Titans, in Titans you could not take your titan t another place or even JUMP, the titans felt like Baby-T in Crash 3 rather than an actual gamplay mechanic, in Mind Over Mutant, you could use the titans for puzzles, take the titan you want to any place you want, and you even had battle arenas I think the open world in Mind Over Mutant was more ambitious than Titans' linearity but I agree the game had some issues, mainly the backtracking, they could've at least given us teleportation, also the cast of villains with weak, it had only 3 boss fights, two of which are Coco and Crunch, I think both Titans games would've been significantly better if they had better character designs and bigger casts (I remember hearing Ripper Roo and Pura were originally in Mind Over Mutant, that would've been really cool), maybe even merge some of the Trilogy traits with the Titans idea, like vehicle levels
Yeah Ripper Roo was going to be a NPC in MOM. But Pura wasn't planned for MOM as far as we know. Pura and Baby T were originally going to appear in Titans tho.
Personally opinion but i actually like Crash twoc more than twinsanity, whenever i play twinsanity it just always hit me with bull,Glitches, and frame drops. The songs are good and some ideas in the game were good too i enjoyed it but i just still like Wrath of cortex better.
I agree, I can definitely see why some would love Twininsanity more then Wrath but most reviews down play the glitches in Twin which can be found throughout the game but then play it up in Warth when thay are a rear occurrence, I honestly think theirs a lot of biases against WOC and part of that is probably the emulator that some people use and some ports, the one I have quality wise is easily a 6/10 which is the same score I'd give Twininsanity but the ones there using have bad load times and glitches so Warth never gets a fair chance in the community
Agree. At least WOC is based on a game that is a masterpiece, so it gets some really positive points, where Twinsanity fails in lots on aspects with few good ideas, but with little execution.
What always really bothered me about twinsanity was the lack of direction, some times I played the same section 3 times because I didn't know we're to go and once I made the mistake I was locked on that section because of the cutscenes witch felt like the only way to "save" your progress
@Fire Hedgehog And for platformer levels 3 Castle levels 2 Dino levels 3 Arabian levels 4 Egyptian levels (1 firefly level) 2 Future levels So that is 14 full platformer levels, plus Level 27, Level 29, and Eggipus Rex, which can add up to 2 full levels, which would make 16 full platformer levels out of 32 levels. Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped is exactly 50% platformer levels and 50% vehicle levels. I do like how both Cortex Strikes Back and Warped has at least one type of blended level The River levels from Crash 2 and the Dino levels from Crash 3.
My list was very different, but I probably based the post-Naughty Dog game spots on how much of a departure each took from the original formula and lore: Crash Bandicoot 3 nearly perfected the mechanics. Crash Bandicoot 2 improves on the first in every way. Crash Bandicoot is a landmark in graphics and art design, but I only find alright on the gameplay front. Crash Twinsanity has its appeal and cult-status and decently fits into the spirit of the first three games. Wrath of Cortex was an attempt to copy the previous game's formula that ended up being a mixed bag. Suffers heavily in the art and writing departments but at least it isn't Enter the Dragonfly levels of awful. Crash Tag Team Racing had decent platforming sections, but the racing was too easy. Crash of the Titans loses a lot of points for me by being a near-complete abandonment of what made the Naughty Dog games successful. Crash: Mind Over Mutant had funny cutscenes but very annoying and tiring gameplay that took CotT's new format and made it worse. I don't hate any of these games, so take this with a grain of salt.
@Magentanator I agree with this list, but I personally think cttr is better than twoc, but there is still reasons to return to cttr. like, the platforming is so fun, with the theme park, chicken challenges, track shortcuts, mini games, etc. twoc in my view is a good game thats unpolished due to it being scrapped due to the fallout with universal, so they had to restart from scratch and they had to finish by the original deadline
I don't actually think that any of the mainline Crash games are "bad games". Even the worst ones are still functional and enjoyable enough experiences. My lowest ranked ones are TwinSanity and (going by this list) Tag Team Racing, but I would still credit them as having the most fun platforming-based exploration in the series.
Honestly a lot of your reasons for WOC seemed pretty odd when you compare it to the other games. Its fine if you personally hate WOC and MOM but it seems like you let the hate decide rather than actually give the games an actual reason And no, Tag Team Racing isn't a mainline game because its a kart racer first, the platforming was just added in to give it an extra gameplay mode That being said my list is: 1. Crash Bandicoot Warped - I like the variety in level environments and the idea of time traveling. Also the bosses and music are on point. 2. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back - The gameplay, levels, and music is solid. I'm not a fan of the forks throughout and sadden N. Brio isn't a boss at all. 3. Crash Twinsanity - To me, even with everything wrong with it, its the best post-ND game. It takes Crash in the right direction but just needed polish in that area. Also, some cut content was Twinsanity, but overall the cut content was Crash Evolution, which was a game that was deemed too similar to Ratchet & Clank. The ideas people want for Twinsanity aren't actually that, but Evolution and I hate how people think its the same. 4. Crash of the Titans - Yes I like this game more than even Crash 1 after I got over the redesigns. Even though the series went in a different direction, the game isn't bad and does allude to the original trilogy 5. Crash Bandicoot - This rating is based on the original version. Its a fun game but very rough on the edges, and well I do respect the legacy, its not the game I would ideally come back to if it weren't the first game. I do like the island map and the later bosses are pretty cool, and it has N. Brio, the best scientist of all time. Read your bible, he wrote it! 6. Crash Mind Over Mutant - Unlike most people, the backtracking isn't a big bother to me. The style they went with this game made me expect it. Its a central area that branches out to other worlds and has missions rather than levels like Titans. I like the improvements such as pocketing certain mutants and leveling them up. But the sour taste that gets left in my mouth is the underutilization of various characters and basically leaving Cortex by himself at the end. N. Gin wants to serve Cortex but Cortex kicked him out... And N. Gin disappears after his mission. Nina is just stuck in a new school and doesn't even try to do anything to Cortex. N. Brio isn't even part of the boss fight even though he could have used the mutagen... And finally, Uka Uka had the weirdest story here... 7. Crash Bandicoot The Wrath of Cortex - The only reason this is so low on my list is because it takes my favorite game, and the underperforms at most turns. Crunch is cool, but overused and underdeveloped
Great video! I’m so glad Crash 3 is your favorite because it’s mine as well. I agree with everything you said about WOC but tbh, I have a soft spot for it because *flame shield* it has one of my favorite tracks in the Crash Bandicoot franchise. (In my defense, just listen to Cortex Vortex)
My ranking of all crash games i know and have tried (exluding skylanders and ports) : 17. Crash Boom Bang 16. Crash Purple: Riptos Rampage 15. Crash Mind over Mutant 14. Crash Wrath of Cortex 13. Crash Tag Team Racing 12. Crash Bash 11. Crash the Huge Adventure 10. Crash Bandicoot 9. Crash Nitro Kart 8. Crash 2: N-Tranced 7. Crash of the Titans 6. Crash Reignited Trilogy 5. Crash Twinsanity 4. Crash Team Racing 3. Crash 2: Cortex strikes back 2. Crash Team racing nitro fueled 1. Crash 3 Warped
Here's my ranks for all games: 1. Crash 3 2. Crash 1 3. CTR Nitro Fueled 4. Crash 2 5. CNK 6. Titans 7. Crash 4 8. Wrath of Cortex 9. Twinsanity 10. CTR 11. N Tranced 12. Huge Adventure (XS) 13. On the Run 14. Purple 15. Tag Team Racing 16. Bash 17. Boom Bang
Cause the game doesn't have a lot of glitches. He's saying that to make it look bad, like he didn't even show proof of a single glitch. Plus he lied about how bad the loading is when he's never experienced it on the initial PS2 version, yet in this video he shows the Xbox version loading which has 5 secs or less load times. So ingenuine cause he hates the game.
My ranking: 1. Crash Bandicoot: Warped 2. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back 3. Crash Bandicoot 4. Crash of the Titans 5. Crash Twinsanity 6. Crash Mind Over Mutant 7. Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex Never played Tag Team Racing enough to have an opinion on it
I don't count CTTR as a main title, so my ranking is: 1) Crash Bandicoot 2 2) Crash Bandicoot 3 3) Wrath of Cortex 4) Crash Bandicoot (PS1 - I'd put it higher with the N. Sane Trilogy) 5) Mind Over Mutant 6) Twinsanity 7) Crash of the Titans
Another great video man. This is my personal list: 1. Crash Bandicoot: Warped 2. Crash Twinsanity 3. Crash Tag Team Racing 4. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back 5. Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex 6. Crash Bandicoot 7. Crash of the Titans 8. Crash: Mind Over Mutant
i respect ur list, but i didn't grow up with the ps1 crash games nor titans or mom. for me with the crash games i grew up with since childhood, it'd be. 1. twins (the game is really good but ufinished) 2. cttr (the game is soo much fun but the exploit in racing made it not as enjoyable, and some mini games are reskins) 3. twoc (a pretty good platformer that's unpolished, if they had more time to make twoc it would've been much better) *you might disagree with this one but its my opinion xd) 4. nitro kart (it was really fun, but when i go to nf and then cnk it reminds me of the controls... if cnk had better controls it would've been much better
So in other words Wrath of Cortex was the warning shot, Mind over Mutant was the near fatal shot, and the original trilogy born anew saved Crash from self destructing.
Finally some love for Crash of the Titans, they might have screwed the pooch with the character designs but the gameplay is pretty good. I wouldn't say Wrath of Cortex is the worst though.
It truly is fascinating how much Crash and Spyro have in common. Both have the their 3 game original trilogies that were all fantastic. Both then get passed on and screwed by universal, releasing their worse games together. Both experiment a little after with little to no success. Both then reboot into beatem ups, both appear in skylanders and finally both get remakes of the OG series. Now I await Spyro 4 teasers to an eventual announcement following the release of Crash 4
This is my top 5 of the mainstream Crash games. And yes, I do count tag team as a mainstream one as it contains a lot of platforming, at least, last time I checked. 1. Crash Bandicoot 2 2. Crash Bandicoot 3 3. Crash Bandicoot 1 4. Crash Twinsanity 5. Crash Mind Over Mutant 6. Crash Tag Team Racing 7. Crash Wrath Of Cortex 8. Crash of the titans
My list from best to worst: 1) crash 3 2) crash 2 3) crash 1 4) crash twinsanity 5) crash wrath of cortex 6) crash tag team racing 7) crash of the titans 8) mind over mutant
I've only played the N.Sane Trilogy, but I do have my favorites there. Crash 3 is definitely my favorite, but I loved Crash 1 more than Crash 2. I dunno, Crash 2 just seemed a little... Boring to me
Between the 8 games I'd do this 8. Tag team racing 7. Wrath of Cortex 6. Mind over Mutant 5. Titans 4. Crash Bandicoot 3. Crash Twinsanity 2. Crash 2 Cortex Strikes Back 1. Crash Warped
Crash 2 is and always will be my favorite game of all time. It was my introduction to the Crash series, and I just think the gem hunting is a lot more fun in this one. ;)
In crash 2 the colour gems all all early before the colour platforms whereas 3s are all after the colour platform making you go though bad backtracking for no reason.
For me, it was artifficial. Have to found the gems and the secrets in hidden walls, pitfalls, killing a random enemy, honestly its not very good. I prefer prove that i have the skill to win a secret or gem like Crash 3/WOC
Wrath Of Cortex isn't the best designed game, and it has a lot of flaws with its vehicular gimmicks. But, I still love this game due to its great controls, great music and interesting design elements that would inspire It's About Time later on. The platforming stages are pretty neat, along with the ball rolling stages, and the final boss is quite neat where you take down Crunch and all the four elementals.
Warped was the first Crash game I played (And the first one I fully completed), I haven’t finished 1 and 2 but I have finished Mind Over Mutant (Unpopular Opinion, I love this game) it’s just so nostalgic to me.
If Crash of the Titans and MOM had just been their own original thing, without the Crash characters, I don’t think people would have hated them the way they did. It wasn’t just the character redesigns that got people upset, the gameplay had nothing resembling the rest of series and result was a Crash game that felt nothing like a Crash game.
I think it's widely accepted that they kind of used the Crash IP to rake in the fans, because while if it had been it's own thing, it wouldn't have been upsetting to fans, it probably also wouldn't have gotten too much attention.
I’ve been waiting for this ranking, great list!! I grew up with the PS1 Crash games and it’s my favorite video game franchise of all time (although it’s very close with Spyro). The first Crash is my #1 because it has my favorite level theming and music, and Warped barely edges out Cortex Strikes Back for my #2 because, like you, it's the game I played the most as a kid. Your analysis of the OT was spot on (I can’t comment on the other games as I haven’t played them). I'd love to see a ranking for Spyro as well though!!
I can't really say anything as I've only played Crash Bandicoot TWOC and Twinsanity (despite the glitches), but those 2 games got me into the franchise which ultimately makes them my personal favorites of the whole franchise. I also like the story of Crash Bandicoot 1.
Me too, I loved Mind Over Mutant way more than Titans & Wrath of Cortex, not saying that Titans is terrible but the writing is much better in Mind Over Mutant along with the amazing cutscenes.
I would say 1. Warped 2. Cortex Strikes back 3. Crash Bandicoot 4. Titans 5. Wrath of Cortex 6. Twinsanity 7. Mind over mutant 8. Tag team racing Great vid by the way!
Wrath of Cortex was my first Crash game, and I remember quite liking it mostly because it would've been one of my first console games. But I can appreciate looking back that it had it's flaws
My rankings: 1 - Crash 1. This may be a controversial opinion, but I honestly feel the original is the best. At least, in terms of levels. The progression and challenging difficulty, as well as the atmosphere, is second to none in the franchise. No other crash game legit gave me chills and a rising sense of tension as I got closer to the final battle. My only gripe is the saving system is awful. 2 - Wrath of Cortex. Look. Maybe I'm a little biased here as this is the first game I ever played, but seriously, I feel a soft spot for this game even playing it as an adult. It gets WAY too much hate. I feel TWoC is that kid in school who everyone loves to hate, even though the kid is actually a nice person. Sure, this game has its problems, but the music is incredible, the levels are extremely diverse, and it's overall a really solid game. I find most of the vehicles actually are fun and don't control as bad as people say. For the most part, anyway. 3 - Crash Twinsanity. I love this game, especially the music and the open-worldness of it all. I really do have a soft spot for this game. But unfortunately, it is incredibly rushed and incomplete. Sound effects are missing, and there was SOOO much cut content. It's a real shame that this game could have been so much more. 4 - Crash 2. This game is really solid. I'd almost say it's the most classic of the games, setting the scene for future games. The character moments are great, and the level design is very solid. What else can I say, it's just a really good game. Now we see a considerable dip in quality. 5 - Titans. I think this is a fun game. It can get a little annoying at times, and a bit repetitive, but I just really enjoy playing as each Titan. Episode 17 is way too difficult and an unnecessarily nasty difficulty spike, however. Similar to crash 1, this has a great sense of progression, and has a wide range of environments. 6 - Crash 3. I am definitely in the "overrated" group for this game. It's alright, but really nothing special. I'd even say TWoC added more new things to the mix than this game did. There are a lot of vehicle levels, and whereas in TWoC where I find most vehicles control well, I find most of the vehicles here control AWFULLY. Especially the jetski levels and the motorbike levels which are honestly such a chore. And now the games I think are truly bad... 7 - Tag Team Racing. This game is just very bland and boring. It tries to be too many things, and kinda falls flat with all of them. Even its title is a rip-off of an earlier Crash game. 8 - Mind Over Mutant. This is the only Crash game I never completed. Why? Because it was not fun in the slightest, and the backtracking had me rolling my eyes.
"It's basically a bad Crash Bandicoot Warped clone that butchers every aspect about it" Well Twinsanity basically butchers everything about Crash Bandicoot in general: Can't jump on most enemies, Aku Aku's protection & invincibility not working at all, including not protecting you from TNTs & Nitros anymore, slide jumping is worse than before, no drop shadow on crates, spinning doesn't send enemies flying into other foes or crates anymore, no level select, can't slide around in ice no more, no higher bouncing, no break all crates for a gem, etc. Plus it feels like a poor mans Jak and Daxter game, yet you ranked it way higher.
I agree. Also, the "open world" is not open at all, the areas are flat and almost empty and personally i prefer the serious tone over the comedy of Twinsanity.
Being honest I have the oposite feeling as you about Mind over Mutant dificulty, for me it was way too easy even on "bonkers", the platforming was fun and kinda cool in some sections, meanwhile I actually struggled on Titans especially since it had lives, I got 2 or 3 gameovers by the last levels, some of the Titans like the Sluggers and the ratcicles were really annoying to deal with too.
@@draguOdoT I'm not saying it's a good game, I'm saying it's decent at best. At least it's what the series is not a "beat em up". So, IMO I would put MOM & CotT at 7th & 8th, then either WoC or TT Racing at 5th & 6th, then Twinsanity 4th, Crash 1 3rd, CSB at 2nd & Warped at 1st.
Got here quickly because of a friend... Anyway, I'd ordered the games you've listed as follows: 1. Crash Bandicoot: Warped 2. Crash Bandicoot (N. Sane version ONLY) 3. Crash Mind Over Mutant 4. Crash Tag Team Racing 5. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back 6. Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex & Crash of the Titans 7. Crash Twinsanity
I think seeing Titans at 4 is actually really interesting. I enjoy the title for nostalgic reasons and just finding it a good time. Radical Entertainment could have done way more, especially since they were working on Prototype when making both Titans games, but I am rather intrigued seeing it up high on the list. Actually makes me happy seeing it up high, especially since it could have been more but it was made to be a budget title just as it's sequel.
1. Crash Twinsanity ( Suprised? I even surprised myself with this one. But I remember enjoy playing this the most and hating that it was over once I beat it. First time using characters other than Crash and Coco, story was well written and the music was hands down the best.) 2. Crash Bandicoot 3 (This is when the story started becoming clear to me. Made me wanna go back and play the first 2. Great variety of level variations that were enjoyable and the bosses were as well, except N. Gin.) 3. Crash Bandicoot 2 (Easiest crash game in my opinion but was very fun to play. Probably second best in franchise music wise in my opinion. Also for some reason, the most nostalgic to me.) 4. Wrath of Cortex (Say what you want I enjoyed playing this game. It was frustrating at times because the feel was different. The animation was terrible, the story was as well. The way the boards were grouped together made no sense to me being that every mask had a specific element, hence it would make sense for the boards to correlate with that mask. If you played it and remember, you may know what I mean. Music was fairly decent.) 5. Crash Bandicoot 1 (HARD AS SHIT!! But that’s what made it fun. Because just jumping and spinning is like...eh. Gets boring. And the games laws of fucking gravity WITHOUT DOUBLE JUMP made it a bitch. I understand it was the first game so that’s okay, they’ve evolved over time. But this game made me rage the most.) 6. Tag Team Racing (As a kid, yea I thought it was fun. Now that I look at it, it was just a half assed racing game and a half assed adventure game creating one big half assed game. And the mini games pissed me off. Music, not memorable. The game had the recipe to be the best in the franchise but blew it.) 7. Clash of the Titans (Only cuz I haven’t played it and I imagined it’d be like Mind Over Mutant, which was the least exciting Crash game I ever played. I’m only putting this above MOM cuz I’m going off of y’all.) 8. Mind Over Mutant (I thought this would end the crash franchise altogether because of how bad it was. Nothing was memorable. No memorable boards, it just felt like one big ass board. No memorable music. I half ass remember the story. I think it was about hypnotism.)
Actually they did cause Universal screwed them over & force them to scrap their initial plans and gave them that tight 12 months deadline to make a game for a series they weren't familiar with on new hardware, pretty freaking unfair. With ND, they already had a handle with the series(that they created) after Crash 1, so they basically just carried over old assets & added improvements, especially for Warped's case.
The problem with Tag Team is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. Does it want be open world like twin or a race gaming? It is both it just doesn't work. Because the racing part is not that fun and the look/design of each track is just lifeless and dull compared to CTR and CNK. The open world part is alright for the most part, the idea of getting coins and buying upgrades with them was a cool idea but that's about it. Overall it is lackluster crash game in my opinion.
Totally agree, has Crash Boom Bang/Crash Bandicoot: Purple didn't exist, Crash Tag Team Racing would easily be the worst spinoff game in the Crash Bandicoot franchise.
Personally, I'd put CTTR way lower down the list based on the unintresting platforming alone - and heck, I'd rather not have it in because it's not even a platformer in the first place - but your points of view almost mirror mine on the other seven. I'd swap Warped around for 2 (both are still very good, can't argue with that), and Twinsanity and Mind Over Mutant around as MoM is at least more functional to play, but it's still well aligned x)
U clearly used a bad emulator of WOC but I respect your opinions, especially with Titans being 3rd as it's a decent experience overall and crash 2/3 or the best of the series hands down.
@@sebastiankulche yeah I've played WOC years ago with the bad loading times, and the one I brought earlier this year has short loading times in comparison. I honestly think the game is okay, with some genuinely good moments and a few bad ones personally but I can't understand why people generally hate it? It's like I understand why people wouldn't like Donkey Kong 64, Spyro enter the Dragon fly and Crash purple/ boom bang but even those games don't get the hate WOC dose, it's the one thing on this planet that confuses me to no end lol I'm not saying Wrath is amazing or good but it's not bad or even mediocre, it's okay/decent (5-6/10) IMO
@@experiencefanatic4380 Also for me is okay, especially consider that copied a lot of things from Warped and Warped was excellent for me, so a less good Warped remains a good game for me :) WOC: 7/10
@@sebastiankulche yeah I agree with everything you've said. Warped is objectively amazing and Warth copys that so it's bound to be good, in all honesty I'd give WOC a 7/10 but I think everyone's hate has made me give it a 6/10 as I thought I was being driven by nostalgia but hopefully if I become successful on RU-vid (I being tomorrow ironically lol) I'll do a big video explaining why Warth is ultimately a good game whilst addressing common criticism plus it will be challenging staying objective but this goes beyond my nostalgia tbh.
@@sebastiankulche most people give it a 4 or a 5 and one RU-vidr a really respect gave it a 2/10 which implies it's so bad it's good like enter the dragon fly as that game is comical cos of its glitches and odd design (I can't comment since I've not played it) or the game has no redeeming qualities. One thing WOC does better than the ND games is sense of level progression. H2ONo starts underwater and has u make your way to a water facility, crash and burn has u climb a volcano. Crash 1,2 and 3 start and end in similar environments but I've never seen a reviewer bring this quality up so I think these still a lot to be said about WOC IMO, I'm glad u like the game
IN MY OPINION 1. CRASH WARPED 2. CRASH TWINSANITY 3. CRASH BANDICOOT 4. CRASH 2 CSB 5. CRASH OF THE TITANS 6. CRASH TAG TEAM RACING 7. CRASH MIND OVER MUTANT 8. CRASH 4 TWOC
Surprised to see CoTT in top 5. Lastly, between WoC and MOM, I'd prefer to play the latter because I've always felt that WoC was a slightly worse version of Warped with more vehicles, looking at how slow you go on the monkey bars makes me mad
People wonder why Galaxy 2 is not in Super Mario 3D All Stars. Well that's because it's The Wrath of Cortex of 3D Mario. Where as Galaxy 1 is basically Crash Warped. I know it was off topic, but I had to say it
When he was talking about Crash Mind Over Mutant, getting frustrated, he kinda sounded like Rerez in his "It's Just Bad" videos when he gets frustrated.
To me nothing tops CTR especially the NF remake. Mega respect to you for putting in good words for Crash of the Titans, I really enjoy this game. I'm very tolerant when it comes to reboots unless it's something god awful then I won't bother with it. I do hope the proposal for a twinsanity remake does become reality, as much as I like tight platforming, I personally prefer the cartoonish comedy and high speed racing more.
Going to include all the games I’ve played including the racing ones 1 - crash 3 2 - crash n sane trilogy 3 - ctr and ctr nitro fuelled 4 - crash 2 5 - crash 1 6 - wrath of cortex 7 - n tranced 8 - Xs 9 - nitro kart 10 - tag team racing Haven’t played that others Wrath of cortex is not that bad lol. It’s not great but it’s not a train wreck like most people say it is
(I won't put Crash 2 or Mind Mutant in my list because I haven't played them yet.) 1: Tag Team Racing: I just really like the platforming segments. Exploring the theme park feels super nostaligic to me♥️ 2: Twinsanity: It may not be polished enough but from what I played, parts of it just stick in my head in a nice way. 3: Titans: Playing as the mutants is fun. 4: Crash 1: Is ok, I guess. 5: Crash 3: Haven't played the vehicles yet but I worry about them... 6: Wrath of Cortex: Yeah, it sucks...
I have to be honest, I thought you would be one of those Crash fans that would hate Crash of the Titans. Most fans hate it because it doesn't play like the classic Crash games. I'm pleasantly surprise to find out that you actually like it because I like it too.
My personal full list is: 1-Crash Warped 2-Crash 2 3-Crash 1 4-CTR-Nitro Fueled 5-Crash N.Sane Trilogy 6-Wrath of Cortex 7-Twinsanity 8-Crash Bash And I really don't care about the other Crash games so that's it. lol
