I really like kinji because they were able to write a priest character and not have them be “evil closed minded religious person”, “evil sharing religious person who steps on all the toes” “evil hypocrite religious” or “the perfect one who is always right”. Overall found him verry well written and as someone who is more religious than most it really felt realistic to how actually most more religous people are.

I just realised that the bad ending being the true ending was foreshadowed through Mikako. Mikako’s memories weren’t tampered with throughout the game. She knew who the masterminds were and what they’d done. And she believed there was good in them. She believed they could be changed. When Akane breaks down after losing Ayame, Mikako chooses to exorcise the demons that were in her head and save her. Even though letting Akane end her own life would have been what was best for the group, Mikako thought she was worth saving, that Akane could be saved. In the end, she was right in her assessment of Akane. She seemed to hold a similar attitude towards Yuki, at first. She was very wary of him all throughout the game. You can practically feel the tension in her introduction scene. But still, she seemed very persistent in reminding him of hope. This takes a complete 180 however, after Yuki strangled her. She was in the middle of trying to give him hope, and Utsuro was so enraged that he attacked her. It was at that moment she realised that the person who was Yuki Maeda couldn’t be saved. That he really was just a fabrication of a good personality concealing a darker one beneath. This is why she tries so hard to get him killed in the fifth trial. She genuinely did feel threatened by him. She knew that even of Akane did change, she would be crushed by Utsuro. She knew what he would go on to do if they voted for her. Which is why her final moments are so panicked , trying to give the group a last message of not letting hope fall to despair, and trying to get the words of who the mastermind was out. (I’ve heard a lot of people say that Kurokawa died in vain as Kinjo revealed who the mastermind was pretty much immediately after she died, but I don’t think it was Akane she had been referring to). But Mikako, whose despair had always been an experiment- kind, bubbly Mikako, the symbol of hope for the group, the one who tried so hard to let hope prevail, and so, so tired, dies in despair. And she was right. What she thought and feared would happen is exactly what did- saved only by the grace of her brother’s A.I. Yamato says in the final scene of the game that Mikako was right, that hope never falls to despair, in acknowledgement of her efforts and in respect to her legacy. Her death was an impactful one, and her life foreshadowed the events of the series. Seeing her death be spoken about like data and her legacy ignored by certain characters always leaves me feeling cold as a result.

One note about Kinji's reaction to orphans' fate I'd like to address is the reason he was in such despair is not just orphans (even though they are very important to him). It's abouthim being a priest and committing the worst sin possible - murder - twice, to nicest people that don't even deserve this, and that he regretted a lot - all for nothing. And he was about to die in a moment, for the sins he committed. He also admitted right before that that he's going to hell, and, for obvious reasons, he wholeheartedly believed that.

This list is pretty much exactly how I would rank the characters. I do want to talk about chapter 3 a bit, because I think it's DRA's biggest misstep. Kakeru and Kanata are so underused that they leave no real impact after dying, and while Kinji's motives are interesting, I can't excuse the lengths he went to. There is no excuse for leaving Kanata tied up in a flooded room overnight so she can die alone and scared from electrical shock. The way I would change this chapter is simply to have Kinji honor Kakeru's final request to spare Kanata. Let's just, not do a chapter 3 double kill. I feel like too many fangans do that because it's expected, but unless you can make it interesting and impactful, it's just not worth losing that many characters that fast. Speaking as a spiritual person myself, I think if I threw a spear through someone's neck and he survived long enough to make a final request, I'm darn sure going to listen to it. I think the most logical reason Kinji didn't do this is because he didn't sneak up on Kanata, so she would know he was guilty, but just playing with the idea, let's see what happens. The morning of the trial unfolds as normal, except that Kanata is also found unconscious, along with Kinji, Kinjo, Rei stuffed in a locker, and a dead Kakeru. During the trial, Kanata seems oddly distracted, leading the others to think she knows something she isn't saying and possibly even suspecting her. But she keeps quiet until almost the end of the trial, perhaps even defending Kinji because she doesn't want to believe he really did it despite what she knows. I think it would make Kinji a much more sympathetic killer if he didn't take a second life, even if doing so put him in more danger. In the original, he falls victim to the "a complicated plan is a good plan" problem, but if he only has one victim he doesn't have to do that. Kinjo develops a bias against Kanata because she withheld evidence to protect a murderer, and she begins to have serious self-doubt and survivor's guilt. During the 4th chapter, she cracks surprisingly easy and lashes out at the others. She voluntarily stops eating before the food runs out because she doesn't feel like she deserves to be alive after Kakeru's death, leading her almost to the brink of starvation. This may further spur Satsuki's willingness to sacrifice herself for the group because she's worried about Kanata. Haru and Satsuki's deaths leave her feeling even more lost and worthless. And then Kinjo attempts suicide in chapter 5. Kanata is the only one capable of saving his life, and even though Kinjo contributed to making her feel horrible, she realizes she can't turn away from someone in need. Kanata, rather than Monokuma, is the one that tends Kinjo's injury. Part of Kinjo's "recovery arc" is learning to forgive Kanata enough to be grateful for her help. Kanata starts to recover her confidence, but then... She isn't able to save Mikako. She falls into despair with the others in the sixth trial, believing her life to be cursed to watch good people die while she is powerless to save them. She also recovers with the others, with the understanding that as long as she can draw breath, she can do good. She survives with the other three, less innocent and naive, but no less committed to her work as a healer. I feel like this change would make all 3 of the characters in chapter 3 better by association. Kakeru's act of bravery has solid meaning, Kinji doesn't come across as unnecessarily cruel, and Kanata gets to actually have a character arc and matter in the story outside of her talent.

honestly, for the longest time I was kinda lukewarm on dra1 teruya, but after seeing him in sdra2 and getting his full arc between both games, it’s made me appreciate him in the first game a lot more and skyrocketed him up my list of favorites. Honestly, dra1’s biggest issue is just not fleshing out the early dead characters (minus kizuna) enough. But the later chapters just absolutely soar. And thankfully, in Sdra2 they didn’t make a single character feel not fleshed out enough imo, so it’s clear Linuj improved a lot between games

i think this is one of the games where i feel bad for everyone (debatable on mitch cause uhmmm!). even utsuro has some sad elements to his backstory, of course that's not an excuse for his actions, but it does show he has some sort of humanity in him. seeing the flashback and everyone being close and interacting with each other is very melancholic, especially since it wasn't necessarily shown in thh, only through pictures, so seeing them actually talking and caring for each other is very sad. dra is such a masterpiece and it's a shame it often gets overshadowed by sdra2 (dgmw sdra2 is amazing, but plot and character wise, dra excels in that, imo of course.)

I seriously did not expect to a fan game to have such impactful complex character. I daresay the complexity rivals the canon DR characters (Even Kokichi which is my all time fav DR cast). It's a game where I can comfortably put 80% of the character above A tier. Good god it's so good😊😊

Yuki Maeda rant ahead(+mini theory at the end): It's honestly very miserable having fake yuki Maeda as your all time favorite character lmao-. Him and the real yuki Maeda are just different enough to where I can't like them the same (don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the real yuki and he has done no wrong). The sixth trail twist had me as crushed as kinjo. With akanes personality being fake, it was sad but she was still akane taira, she still existed, her persona might have been fake but she was still akane But with yuki, he was just completely fabricated, he was so completely separate from utsuro, Its not like with akane where she turned into the despair akane, while still keeping her main personality, yuki was just completely erased, him and utsuro were literally different people, he even fought back when utsuro was coming back. I honestly feel as bad for fake yuki as I do for real yuki (okay maybe not AS much, but still), just that mental conversation with himself and needing to realize that he literally doesn't exist, not just that he's not himself but that he straight up doesn't exist. It just seems worst than realizing your turning into someone else I've always felt that the 'bad' ending was a better end than the good end, because in both ending yuki dies, there's no way to stop that, but at least in the bad end he gets to die as Yuki Maeda, he gets to die giving hope to everyone In the end, I don't consider fake Yuki as the mastermind, I consider him as just another victim who died at the hands of Utsuro, TL;DR: MY BESTIE FAKE YUKI DID NOTHING WRONG IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE IT WAS ALL UTSURO AND I DO NOT BLAME YUKI IN THE SLIGHTEST - a very big Yuki Maeda stan (Also I honestly loved that kinjo regressed back into his old mentality at the end, I feel like it gives more weight to his relationship with yuki and close the two really were. Also I saw this really cool theory that the reason kinjo reverted was because yukis luck is what ended up helping him, like with how after utsuro died, kinjo physically started deteriorating, his mental health also started deteriorating because yuki not only helped him physically, he helped him mentally too,)

You moving Mitch so that he's the last character you ranked made me laugh out loud lmao- Regarding Kakeru, I'm pretty sure that even Linuj wished he could have done more with his character, but since he already had people like Rei and Kinjo as the brains of the group, he couldn't make Kakeru have a lot of moments to shine during the trials.

I would love a video where it explains how Danganronpa Another subverts the expectations set by the real game because it does kind of trick you into thinking it will be similar to punch you in the gut like in chapters 2, 4, 5, and 6.

SUPER LONG ANALYSIS ON WHY KINJI IS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER LETS GO! With Kinji he was originally my favourite mostly as a joke because of all the memes and stuff, but his role in chapter 3 made him legitimately my favourite character. When it came to the point where everyone realised that he was the culprit, I was really scared chapter 3 syndrome was gonna hit and that’d he’d have some really bad motive like the canon killers that he did it “for god” or something like that and he was lying about being a good person. And the game got really close to that in his first breakdown. But something I did not expect was his second breakdown, where he went absolutely crazy and started screaming profanity and death threats to everyone which was absolutely amazing. And at that point I couldn’t even get myself to cry anymore, since I was like “ok, here’s the snap, he’s evil now. Let’s get rid of this freak.” And after a while he eventually calmed down and when asked about how he was acting not too long ago, he was being avoidant and said it was only to “buy time”. Probably one of my favourite things about his breakdown is that he wasn’t revealing his “true personality” and was lying about being a cam person. Neither was this just him acting to be evil like Ayame did last chapter. But instead this was Kinji showing a side of him that we hadn’t seen before. Yes he is an introverted person who can be nice, but when he gets pushed to the limit he goes absolutely crazy, and proceeds to throw verbal abuse and threats at everyone like he’s a completely different person. And there’s minor details in his breakdown that really show this and can be only seen in retrospect, is stuff like how he knew he was going crazy, and tried to communicate it to everyone such as “like you can drive to me this point!?” And after Rei said that he came down from a mental breakdown Kinji said “SHUT UP!!! SHUT IT!!! SHUT UUUUUUUP!!!!!! I’M STILL HERE!!! WAIT!!! WAIT AND SEE, THAT, YOU YeS, ThAt’s It ThAt’s It!” Which him saying “I’m still here” in the middle of that would be weird for him to say, unless it was trying to convey to Rei that he was still sane. And I’ve seen people say that his breakdown was “out of character” or “it was stupid he admitted it while trying to prove his innocence”. But I highly disagree. With this we just haven’t seen this side of Kinji before, and he likely has some sort of anger issues or something. But we just haven’t seen that before because he was never really antagonised by the rest of the cast, and was mostly avoidant of the others. And anger issues doesn’t mean you just have a berserk button, and some types of the conditions can have people have more extreme breakdowns at a less frequent rate if I remember correctly. And something like that would make sense for Kinji. And I’ve heard many stories of people taking up religion as some sort of coping mechanism for their anger issues. And this would explain why it only happened that one time at such an extreme level. And even with this I proceeded to research anger and anger issues and the way kinji’s rage was depicted in chapter 3 was shockingly accurate to real life. Like I said before he knew he was going crazy. He isn’t psychotic or anything and unable to distinguish how he’s acting is wrong, but he can’t control it. And with him straight up admitting his guilt at times “this bitch broke down MY plan” “I thought I was lucky that I defeated Tsurugi Kinjo and Rei Mekaru” but then him desperately trying to defend himself actually makes a whole lot of sense. As when people enter extreme levels of rage (or any other emotion for that matter) the prefrontal cortex tends to shut down, restricting logical thinking and that’s why you say such stupid things when you’re mad. And with Kinji since he couldn’t reason in this situation that was why he admitted his guilt multiple times and kept saying such stupid stuff that made no sense. And interestingly enough later in the breakdown he got so angry that he started slurring his speech and acting like he was drunk, which I don’t know much about but I think extreme anger could probably effect the same chemicals in the brain as being drunk can but that’s just my guess. And like I said his whole breakdown is so accurate to being in such a state of anger it makes it so much scarier. And how after around half an hour he eventually calmed down and returned to normal since you can’t just stay angry forever. And one thing to note about this scene is how despite all of this, the scene is perfectly crafted to make you believe that this is his true nature and he was lying about his personality the whole time. And even the other characters thought this too “U-uehara? You know… your character collapsed…”. And it makes me think of how just because of once incident you can be lead to believe that a person is evil, despite how they never acted like this before and you’re lead to believe this is their true self, but I’m getting off topic here Anyways thank you for coming to my TED talk. I went too overboard here explaining why a character I liked for being the meme man turned into an extremely interesting and complex character who’s a blast to psychologically analysis. But thank you to whoever read all of this.

20:30 this made me think about the most obscure, experimental aligments in D&D. There used to be "extreme" aligments like Good Evil and Chaotic Lawful, and Kinjo FOR SURE would be a Chaotic Lawful, the guy that goes to an extreme for the law and shit.

Pretty good list. Looks like we share a few favorites. Here’s my list: S Tier: -Yamato (my favorite character in the series) -Utsuro (he is basically what I thought Izuru Kamukura would be like, except I enjoy him way more than Izuru) -Tsurugi (he’s an amazing rival who actually cares about the group, which sets him apart from most Danganronpa rivals) -Mikako (best girl who deserved better) -Kinji (he’s great; I’m glad that Linuj made the religious character an actually likable person, instead of what happened with Angie Yonaga) -Kiyoka (also best girl, chapter 6 proves this) -Rei (I thought she was just a Byakuya clone at first, but I like her way more than Byakuya now; her character arc in chapters 4 and 5 cemented her as one of my favorites) -Teruya (he started off as just a comedic relief character, but his character arc in chapter 4 made him one of my favorites) A Tier: -Yuki (he seemed to be too similar to Makoto at first, but he grew on me over time; chapter 4 made him much more realistic and likable than Makoto for me) B Tier: -Kanata (I spent the first three chapters convinced that she would be the crazy chapter 3 killer, which made what actually happened a little awkward; I felt bad for her, and I also really liked her free time events) -Akane (she’s one of the most well-written characters in the series) -Mitsuhiro (unpopular opinion, but I don’t hate him as much as most people; he’s not one of my favorites, but I also don’t hate him) -Ayame (I liked her free time events, and her friendship with Akane is nice) -Kakeru (he tried to save Kanata, so that was pretty cool, but I wish there was more to him) -Satsuki (her free time events made me like her, as well as chapter 4) C Tier: -Haruhiko (unpopular opinion, but I personally don’t care for him; I don’t hate him, but he annoyed me a lot in chapter 4 with the whole food situation; his relationship with Satsuki was wholesome though) D Tier: -Kizuna (she’s my most hated Danganronpa character of all time; I already disliked her in chapter 1, but chapter 2 took it a step further and made me despise her with a burning passion; I hate her so much that I now use her as a benchmark for how to rank other characters that I hate lmao) And that’s my list. I watched your playthrough of DRA, and seeing you hate on Mitsuhiro always made me laugh, because that’s basically how much I hate Kizuna.

My favorites are also Weeby's best boys hehe. For me though, what compelled me to them is how both Kinjo and Kinji have talents (Police and Priest) that imply a certain virtuousness to them, but it gets juxtaposed and enhanced with the dilemmas they go through, while also having their talents be well utilised. You get to know Kinji a suprising amount despite being a Ch.3 killer, a lot of his actions before that can be explained by the motive Monokuma gave him. Him declining to conform to Kinjo's rules along with Rei and Kizuna can show two things: 1. The man follows his own set of morals (Linuj also wrote in Kinji's character profile that Kinjo and him were meant to conflict a lot more, but didn't know how to implement it, which is such a shame...) 2. Through hindsight, the reason he wanted to distance himself was to not get attached since he would have had to sacrifice them to save those orphans. His moral compass definitely gets challenge because what he was dealt was Catch 22, whether he kills his (previously close) friends or give up on those 100 kids that meant the world to him, regardless, he would still go to hell for it, there's no good outcome for him and it's terrible. Which makes sense why he ends up choosing the orphans instead of classmates, it's both the more logical option ("disregarding prime numbers for majority") and emotional one (the 100 kids meant more to him and not to rob them of a bright future). And the way he is one of the few characters to call Kinjo out, chef kiss. As for Kinjo, what else can I add that Weeby and others haven't said before? He's just the best! I will add one thing though, I like that as a "rival" character he doesn't feel invincible. Through out the game, Kinjo's morals constantly get challenged even if he doesn't realize it: Ayame's case didn't really challenge Kinjo but the audience is well aware just how dogmatic he's being, Akane stabbed Kizuna out of self defense and displayed plenty of remorse, but to Kinjo it means nothing, she's still scum. We know he's horrible for making the consequence worse, with Akane's psyche being terrible during Ch.3. Kinji was the first one to truly challenge Kinjo's sense of justice, calling him a hypocrite for basically claiming the same thing Kinji did (he was willing to disgard Rei, Kizuna and Kinji for not abiding to him). Haru and Satsuki show how the victim could assist the killer, as well as the fact that killing is not always for a selfish cause, this caused Kinjo to basically short circuit and his actions became much more erratic by Ch.5 (he wanted to shoot himself to "atone" for his sins, which doesn't really solve anything, it's kind of a cowards way out). And I think Yuki's betrayal was truly the nail in the coffin, after pointing fingers on who is criminal scum, the one person that didn't become a killer and was someone he trusted, was in fact the person who not only set up the killing game, hurt his friends but also revealed to force his dad to eat his best friend's remains... his sense of judgement was truly broken at this point, which makes sense why he reverted back to his old ways, it was all too much and he ultimately regressed. I don't remember who said this, but I think Kinjo is a character who will never truly improve in difficult environments, Kinjo was able to heal and process his views before the killing game because he didn't have to directly tackle these grey dilemmas, he had friends who help him discuss and comfort him. I don't think Kinjo would have changed for the better if he didn't live through the gunshot or get his memories back. But this just makes him more compelling, he's a good example of how a bad situation doesn't necessarily cause someone to change for the better. Anyways, great video as always Weeby! Can't wait for the SDRA2 cast version of this :))

I think that some things could bebadded to make more background characters more interesting: 1. The Alliance of Kakeru, Kanata, Ayame, Akane and Yuki- in chapter 2 Kakeru, Akane and Ayame trains in the gym when Kanata walks in to check them. In this moment Kakeru brings up the idea of alliance. Why him? His main reason is to watch Turugi and others more succesfully. As an ultimate lawyer he probably proteted very dangerous people in the court who had commited various unforgivable crimes so he knows that Tsurugi's behavior is a sign that he will do something crazy. In this moment He decides to come out of his shell and convice Kanata, Ayame and Akane to form an alliance( Yuki joins through Akane).

The first time I saw this game, was through TempsAccount's channel. And I just watched the story without any background or who exactly made it, but the story itself was attractive in way to show this new cast and then learning it was made from Korea of all places. It really gave me so much interest in knowing more about it than I first thought when I saw so little news about it in comparison to the second game (which I stopped watching after chapter 5 daily life, because there were some information I was obviously missing from the prequel). It was then that I decided to try and help out with this story and let everyone know (with my basic skills ) translating this story. It was actually my first time/ project as a translator, so at the beginning, I struggled a lot with the wording (Mainly because I'm native spanish, so I didn't know a thing about Korean words and to even work with English i found the idea more entertaining to try) , even made some silly lines during the recording process plus editing, but then I learned how to type with the help of a Korean keyboard and then transcribe the script from the page to the game's script. Saddly at the time I didn't put this script on a document, since my time was very limited and I wanted to find the most simple way to work with this new program which I had not much idea about it. Which is RPGMaker 2001 (And by the way, I 100% dislike it by how much trouble I had with it). To make it simple, it was tough, because the one I managed to work with, I had to witness the entire coding in Korean, so I had to start somewhere, and seeing that Chapter 1 was recorded and published on RU-vid. I decided to give it a go from Chapter 2, and try to make the promise to the people who watched it, to finish everything until Chapter 6. At that time I had no clue where to begin so I tried to translate the titles,and images and look for some kind of starting point. It was not easy at all....During my year working with this translation, it took me around 1200 pictures to edit from english to korean and that amount was simply just the passion I had for this game, and that's not even the total amount Linuj worked for this game. It goes to show how much potential this whole story had, and how far the creator and the people helping in the developing of the game were willing to go. And then I discovered a few people working for the translation project as a team, and I was fascinated by the idea to help out. So they reach out to me and I decided to give it a try. And that was the beginning of my interest in Fangan content. At the time I never really imagined I was going to end in this place. But I 100% loved how thing started to developed over the course of the months, the story was super interesting for me, and how many people reached out to comment on it, I was having a lot of fun, but of course it was as previously mentioned, a lot of effort. I had to put around 5-6 hours of translation, putting the korean text inside the machine and figure out the best way to put the sentence with my own intuition. It is of course not the best way to tell the complete story, but hopefully with the REMAKE, that will show how much potential Linuj really delivered for this story in it's entirety (not to mention, the new interaction with the characters is hillarious and I highly commend the people working on the script to make it even mor enjoyable to the reader). Anywho, this is probably one of the longest comments I've done, so I shall make this brief, I LOVE DANGANRONPA ANOTHER. That's pretty much what I felt once the story was completed. This story felt like an original creation for the canon story that it was so right, it blows my mind how much it works. It just...Fantastic and I have nothing but joy to have found this game and try to share the story with people who wanted to see more about danganronpa from "another" view (hehe, made the joke there 😉). Thanks a lot for sharing your reactions Weeby, it was enjoyable to see your videos and how much people were into the story. I had a lot of fun and hope to see more fangan content in the future from a new Korean game in the making which is Mauve and DRCroxx (They're still in development so hopefully those two stories will be completed in the course of the years). I'm so glad that many people feel the same way about Taira because she's such a well put character, I honestly thought she was Linuj's favourite from how he designed her. Even though Utsuro was the true protagonist and the person whose character was transforming gradually throughout the game, Akane was essentially like a protagonist who was also getting development from the second trial. When it came figuring out the mastermind, I always crossed out the characters who went through immense character development and a character who seemed independent and fits into the survivor criteria but Akane just threw me off my predictions. She is essentially represents the victims who were constantly being tormented by the corruption of society, ultimately robbing her from who she wanted to be yet she still yearned for the hope of a normal life despite the pain and gave her life to save a friend. Her character is so amazing that I can't describe it but obviously she can't beat Mitrch who's the most complex character in the series.

Kinjo will always be my favourite.

I really enjoyed your Danganronpa Another Let`s Play and this ranking list and I totally agree with your tier list (I almost have the same ranking, I only switched Maki with Utsuro, because I like her more than him). ^^ I am really happy that you put Kinji, Satsuki and Tsurugi in best tier and I agree with your reasonings for it, because they are my favourites, too. ^^ Honestly Tsurugi Kinjo is one of the best characters in DRA1 and he is really misunderstood in SDRA2. I don`t get all the hate he got in the sequel, because it is understandable how he reacted that way, considering what happened in the end of DRA1 (and his past). He is not the one at fault what happened to a certain character in SDRA2 (I won`t go into detail, because it will be a spoiler for the sequel, but I can write about that in the SDRA2 tier list when it is released). So he is/stays as one of my favourite character in both games (DRA1+SDRA2). I only wished that Yamato would find the right words to convince him and give him more hope, so that he can keep his character development and would not be so despaired that he reverted back to his former self in the end again. Anyway, thank you for the great DRA1 tier list and I am looking forward to your SDRA2 tier list and your other great video`s. ;-)

This all tracks pretty well to me, I don't know if my exact rankings are the same but I understood everything here. Don't have much to add to this, though I will say Kinjo regressing at the end kinda made sense to me after thinking about it, and it's nice that LINUJ isn't afraid of taking the less happy route for many things. My real question however is... where does Bitch, the secret 17th student, land? :P

The flashback was supposed to humanize Mitch and add a layer of irony to the victim/culprit of the first case but nobody cares because he’s still such a douche. Rightfully so. I think him being included does actually add something in the sense that there is at least one character out of this anime-ass cast who is just a guy who could really exist. His talent isn’t as extravagant as a high schooler pilot, surgeon, or lawyer. A soccer player being scouted by a prestigious school is not as “out there” as an exorcist, or “ultimate clown”. I think Mitch’s personality choice is a good literary device for making the killing game feel real. In conclusion, he serves a purpose well by being portrayed as a douche.

I just want to point out that Monokuma in DRA isn’t any different than any previous Monokumas. Although I think an “Utsuro-based” Monokuma would have been really cool, especially given how brutal he was in the trial despite his complete apathy, the Monokuma presented to us in DRA is just Junko’s A.I. Same as in SDR2. I don’t think it’s possible to be more brutal than Junko is. She was kind of restrained by certificate ratings in the original games, but part of her appeal is that there is no bounds to her cruelty, regardless of how tame she might seem in comparison to this Monokuma. But slaughtering toddlers and shoving decaying corpses in somebody’s face is definitely something she would do. That said, there are a couple of differences between A.I Junko and real Junko that would be interesting to note
