im crying bc i understand "avant basic" has a lot of micro trends but for a brief moment ppl were experimenting with color and now i feel like if you do bright clashing colors and patterns even with vintage/secondhand its labelled as "avant basic microtrend"
I get you! I love a bright maximalist outfit but struggle feeling the same way or even checkered print? Still love but can’t wear without feeling so dated ugh😭😭
its ok the trend cycles now move so fast its almost like they don't exist :) at least thats what I tell myself when I continue to wear swirl and checker lol
I never heard of Bloquette before this because I’m completely tuned out of fashion tiktok but it feels like a gentrified version of a chicana style that started emerging years ago. Girls wear lots of lace and ribbons that feels reminiscent of traditional Jalisco dress and combine it with street wear like sporty soccer jerseys and workwear. It’s taking elements of how we used to dress for soccer practice and making it girly.
also i was like 12ish (and on tumblr) when indie sleaze/soft grunge were a thing and its so jarring to see them coming back!! i was in a touristy part of ireland for work a few months ago and saw sooo many circle skirts and black sheer tights lol. and interestingly a lot of scandi teens in earth toned raver fits.

Bruh. I came up with blockette in like 2017, cause I was trying to make my practical sport rain jackets cute (I lived in the UK). I kinda feel it has the potential to stay and not be a micro trend.
i have mixed feelings about twee. Some elements were really tacky for sure but some of it i still think is really cute, like the whole 2010s zooey deschanel sort of look. I think it could be brought back in a cute way, i wouldn't be mad about it.
