I imagine most of the combat abilities, especially for knuckles, will be useful when the dlc stages are added, which has been confrimed by ChaosX. In general, the dlc stages are more enemy dense, so we'll see more use for some if these moves (hopefully)

The badnik bounce in P-06 has some interesting advantages and disadvantages compared to the classics. In the classics, it has more potential, but less situations to use since it's harder to utilise in a closed 2d space. It also requires a lot of speed and height since it converts your momentum into the bounce, it doesn't give you much extra height. P-06 has less potential per bounce but is always useful since it gives the characters extra height rather than just converting their momentum. It's also 3d, so more space.

Personally i love all shadow vehicules (the buggy, the bike ,the hovercraft and the glider) because they are just ao stupid and at least we can admit that their designs are pretty cool the only problem is that they are the least efficient way to complete a level

I'm doing my best to avoid playing this game, and it's really tough. I'm waiting for the full release before diving into this goated game. But your video is making me reconsider my decision. I really want to play it now 😫

Probably my main gripe is I wish ChaosX would be able to somehow add the story back in. I don’t need it changed, but I like have the plotline and going through the levels like that. But what is there is a blast and helps highlight what good there was in the game.

I think the red gem should just be completely re worked from scratch. Make up a new ability for it, make into something fun but also useful for players.

I've played 06 extensively and dabbled in each release of P-06 when they first came out. What in particular makes the Red Gem suck so much in P-06 compared to the retail version?

In 06, it slows down everything, except for Sonic, which makes getting huge time bonuses in Sonic's stages way easier because you move at normal speed, but all enemies, the stage timer, and (annoyingly) the camera move way slower. In P06, Sonic (and the audio) are affected by the slow down, so now it only helps you react to some enemies faster, and basically doesn't do too much for you anymore.

@@jammychoo Thank you for replying. Ahhh that makes sense now, sucks to see the utility utterly drained from it but it kinda makes sense. I remember HATING how the Red Gem in retail made the camera lag behind regardless of how cracked it was.

@@dragnjames2190 yeah I hate it too. It's normally not an issue but also it slowing down how fast you can manually rotate it is such a minor inconvenience 💀

Its not even a rebalance thing, ChaosX literally cannot make the red gem work like it does in retail within the Unity engine

I think one of the abilities u've missed was Shadows Chaos boost mode (Memory shards forms) or Kaioken as I call it and I'd place it in "Great" due to its capabilities to enhance his attacks and adapting his combo game as well as infinite ammo (gotta love it) however it's uses is mostly on gauntlets of enemies or boss shredding (when the time comes), overall I enjoyed the tier list

Chaos Snap, Chaos Lance, and Chaos Blast are the levels 1, 2, and 3 of Chaos Boost respectivly. It would be unfair with how I seperated out the other abilites of bundle all of those into one

Really fun and interesting tier list! The jump dash, into sky gem, into double jump dash is really cool new tech to learn! I hope to see a few of these moves rebalanced and looked at again for the final release of the game. I don’t expect Knuckles’ combos to somehow become amazing, but small tweaks could go a long way to making them viable. Letting the dash punch hit for 6 points of damage would go a long way to making it at least more fun to use. I think the Uppercut should have a greater range of effect so it can hit more enemies when used. If the Screwdriver could be used in Midair and act as a pseudo homing that’d be cool too! Same with Shadow, while I love that the Tornado Spin Kick is actually useful now unlike Retail, we can clearly see why it didn’t work like this before. Way too busted lol, to the point and damn near making the rest of Shadow’s kit pointless. I hope to see some adjustments made to make the Chaos Attack, Snap, Lance and Blast more useful (faster, and more range on the maybe), and the Tornado should be balanced a bit better in some way. I think I recall hearing ChaosX say he plans to bring back Shadows little spin kick for his base form (I did think it strange he completely removed it), and then lock the Tornado Spin Kick behind level 2 Chaos Boost? Honestly it might even be an idea to straight up lock it behind level 3 Chaos Boost unless he plans to buff the range on Chaos Blast haha! Thanks for the tier list, glad to see you still making such good content for this game! I know it’s still another possibly 2 years off, but I hope to see you do even more amazing stuff once the End of the World update drops for P-06! (And I hope that ChaosX gives you many more chances to see behind the scenes and test things for the next version until then)

I would like to add another point for Chaos Spear being in the "great tier" (which I saw you added it to that tier post recording) and that is how amazing it is for score attack runs. The biggest thing is that you can kill an enemy with it via charging it mid combo, land, and quickly spindash to keep the combo itself going. This is because, similar to Sonic's Bound Attack, Chaos Spear delays the point tally if you use it to kill an enemy and then land, and again combining it with a spindash or namely spindash jump, Shadow can go a good distance more without the points tallying to extent his combo. You can also use it to destroy boxes and such to get this same effect, with this Chaos Spear tech, I managed to get over a 100k point bonus from a single combo chain in Aquatic Base. I understand this list is mainly for speedrunning and not score attack, but for score attack I think Chaos Spear would probably be in the "goated" tier for its combo-extending ability alone.

Btw, does anyone else have the controller problem of A being A and start and B being B and A? Because of that I pretty much have to play on keyboard, which is at times kind of awkward

Well well, crow attack? Really, is it comes from the menu? Sounds out of character from being a cat into a crow😂😂😂. Claw attack sounds right to me instead of crow attack. For chaos spear, chaos snap and chaos attack, I like that mechanics only because I was chasing a high score (S rank actually) through combat with quick pace (I just can't do a speedrun anyway because I'm just afraid of me being skill issue). Shadow's chaos ability are cool though.

i am new with all the P006 stuff. and my question is, does this game support the story? or is it just the stages of the game? i mean is it a full sonic 06 experience? what does the game miss from the original game?

For now it has all the stages from Sonic, Shadow and Silver's story. Bosses and medala are coming soon, for now there's are no stories, hub or town missions

It has all the main levels. According to ChaosX, bosses and DLC levels are next. ChaosX has also stated that there will be no story or hub worlds.

To be honest you don't really need the story i mean you can just watch the cut scenes online..but if you meant it like improved story i guess that's up to fanfic writers

I would agree with the Red Gem placement. The Red Gem from the original '06 slowed down time for everything but Sonic. This was pretty useful for beating enemies or avoiding attacks, especially if you have no rings. In Project '06, the Red Gem slows down everything, including Sonic, which I feel makes the Red Gem kinda pointless because everything is moving at the same pace but it's just being played back slower. The effect is pretty cool though.

That’s basically how every “slow down time” ability has worked in Sonic games after 06. Time Break in Secret Rings was the same, and Generations’ slow down ability was the same. So while not useful, I get why ChaosX just standardized it to what other Sonic games did. Maybe that’ll change in the final update!
