Metal Sonic literally is Lord Speedrun Meta. It’s rare seeing someone acknowledge him in that department, since he’s overshadowed by Tails or even Knuckles because stages like the entirety of Marble Zone exist. I kid you not, I managed to beat two Super Sonic users in a race across the first three premade Green Hill Zone levels as him. Outside of speedrunning, he’s STILL a pretty solid but underrated character choice. God bless all Metal Sonic enjoyers.
if anyone's wondering why peelout is better than the spindash, in classic sonic, when spinning, unless you're going through slopes and stuff to gain momentum, you will slowly lose speed, however, when you're running, you'll keep that speed
Well here we go: 12- Sonic 1: Since he got no spindash he kinda sucks to get speed and he will need shields to it. 11- Amy She got a dash that you can spin and a jump that you will hit after pressing again so "semi" jumps and spindashes. Also, she can jump the height of eletrical shield and water bounce so she surpass Sonic 1 by that. 10- Robotnik Yes, he fly and have some enemy immunities, but he can't fly in water, low jump and is bad against spikes. 9- Sonic 2 True spindashes and jumps and also shield boosts, a pretty average character. 8- Sonic 3 Same as Sonic 2 but with insta-shield. 7- Shadow Same as Sonic 3 but with 5 ring boost. 6- Rouge She can glide and have a quick fall but she is behind knuckles just because of his "destroy walls" ability. 5- Knuckles Same as rouge but with a better other ability which is "destroy walls". 4- Tails Great flying ability, can swim, spindash and carry light characters. Robotnik but way better. 3- Sonic CD Best spindash, super peel-out, shield boosts, a very speedy character. 2- Super Sonic Invencibility, but it has a terrible spindash and falls a lot of times. 1- Metal Sonic Sonic CD spindash, double jump, invincibility when running fast (Yes metal sonic can defeat super in a race) better because it does not fall very often. Metal and Amy are my mains, Amy is good for momentum on steep slopes going downward, and her spin dash being a peel out makes it easier to keep her momentum going, Metal has his dash mode, op as is, and then has a double jump and a CD spin dash, bro is built different like that.
I main Metal and CD CD is good because I enjoy the peelout, his spindash is good and I get to flex my Pink Sonic Skin I use Metal when I want to cheese a level a tiny bit
dude I don't know if you know this but if you spam the spindash button with any character that can spin dash they go the same speed as the sonic cd spin dash so overall cd sonic wouldn't be the best sonic but idk if you know that you're supposed to click the spindash 6 times and not click it once
Actually, Tails can defeat enemies while flying, if you hit them with Tails' tails. Also, Tails has a smaller hitbox compared to the rest of the characters, meaning that he can get through smaller gaps.
Random Fun Fact: Did you know that Amy and Tails has smaller hurtboxes? If you roll as Amy, you can go through gaps that are 7/8th height of the block Tails can go even further, with his spin dash allowing him to move through gaps that are 5/8th height of the block. Besides, he doesnt even need to roll to go through single block gaps!
For me, super sonic and Amy are around the same place! That’s just my opinion though! Cd Sonic is the best for me and metal sonic is just behind him for me!
My opinion: 12. Eggman: not a fun character. 11. Shadow: has potential but never used. Also dash is just a bad move 10. Super Sonic: too easy and is only gopd when used correctly 9. CD Sonic: He's just not a used character, S2 is better 8. S2 Sonic: Nice character, nothing stands out much. 7. S3 Sonic Better than s2 because of the insta sheild and nicer sprites 6: Knuckles: Great character in general. 5. Rouge: The Cooler Knuckles 4: Tails fun character 3. Amy: fun character with downthrust and high jumps. 2. Metal Sonic: Perfect for speedeunners, most of the CSS community 1. S1 Sonic: best platformer hands down, perfect for basic platforming kaiso levels, speedrunning and anticheesing. a well rounded character with good physics and an ideal character for most pro CSS players.
amy can perform spin dash after you perform the peelout and then press down then you can do it at a certain speed but still good enough and second thing she gets a high jump ability you can use while move which is hold up and then jump the thing is it's tie with metals double jump
Just pointing this out even though it's very useless (Unless if you're adding some frame perfect jump thingies in your levels???) but Shadow has a slightly smaller hitbox than S3 Sonic.
I don’t see the problem with Amy. Skill issue to me bet most of you haven’t really played Amy in any other game including fangames and mods. You also have the extra reach with her hammer but there’s only one boss so thats useless. Still think they should buff her by giving her the hammer glide from the Sonic Mania Plus Mod and buffing her spindash. S1 Sonic is worse. Also all the Sonic’s can use the elemental shields and you only pointed that out for CD Sonic to justify his ranking more. Vyriss should def add “Mania Sonic” he would honestly be top 3. Yeah and like you said the Insta Shield if you time it right you are shielded by anything so it has a very high skill ceiling. my opinion: (LOTS OF HOT TAKES) 12. Super Sonic - He makes the game too easy to the point where its not fun anymore 11. S1 Sonic - He is very Meidiochre because he cant spindash but he does get access to the elemental shields 10. Amy - She can spindash but not into a ball, she does get a special ability to jump up high but thats it 9. Robotnik - he can fly but thats it 8. S2 Sonic - he gets access to the spindash and the elemental shields which is cool 7. S3 Sonic - his insta shield is OP and he gets access to the elemental shields 6. Shadow - Im ranking him above S3 Sonic because the Boost that costs 5 rings makes him amazingly better than S3 Sonic 5. Knuckles - he can glide but when he lands it takes away a bit of speed 4. Rouge - she does get a move to throw herself to the ground if that makes sense which makes her better than Knuckles 3. Tails - he has the best flight and is an awesome charecter himself 2. Metal Sonic - basically CD sonic but slightly worse also he can double jump but no elemental shields 1. CD Sonic - he has the superpeel out, the best spindash access to the elemental shields with one more pro, He is amazing
I use sonic cd sonic for everything, is the best sonic, and sometimes i use shadow and metal sonic, i prefer sonic cd than metal sonic because cd sonic have the peel out, that means more speed, and i feel metal sonic more slow than sonic i dont know why.
someday i said to my friend in a sonic game (not classic sonic simulator) knuckles can fly my friend didnt know that today i was playing with him as knuckles and i showed him flying knuckles and my friends was confused xd
For amy, i mean, origins plus didn't exist at the time this came out & even not the can't roll in i believe most official sonic games & sonic 1 sonic, i meeeaaan, he just emulates the sonic 1 gameplay Eggman doesn't have a reason for his flaws, atleast not any i can think of & sonic 2 sonic has not really anything special because he emulates the... well... sonic 2 gameplay
I would rank Super Sonic as the worst, here is why: 1.Cheating 2.Doesn't challenge the player which is the entire purpose of the game 3.Speeds Even Shadow Can Reach Through Boost 4.Absolute Garbage SO MANY PEOPLE USE THIS TO CHEAT LEVELS, so I disable Super Sonic Entirely :) *PLAY THE ACTUAL GAME*

I just don't know why they split sonic 1 and CD into 2 despite they look very identical except for key differences but still I want them to merge together. Plus sonic 2 & 3 don't have the super peelout anymore which is sad. I want the Sonic 2 & 3 peelouts back cause it made people to not force them to use sonic 1/CD but after V9 it made people force them to use sonic CD.

ok, I understand that Amy can be bad, but it's not possible that she is behind Sonic (1) and Eggman, Amy is bad for those who don't know how to play, but she can be a great character, almost above the 3 sonics (CD) (2) (3), it's terrible for beginners, but great for those who know how to play. maybe he only counted the characters that are normally playable. practically what he said about sonic (3) 3:35. "If you time it right" this phrase defines Amy's abilities, so yeah, Amy isn't actually as bad as she seems. Something about Amy's abilities are: the hammer, which is the normal ability, also has a bigger hit box than the others (just like sonic 3). the super jump is useful either to avoid some spikes or to avoid/attack buzz bombers (I don't know if that's the name). also an ability that I didn't see him mentioning but which is kind of useful (kind of because it's one of the most useless of Amy's abilities) it would be the ability that if you jump and press the button to lower, you do an ability that spins your hammer and makes Amy fall SUPER faster AND deal damage (like rouge). about the super peel out (nerfed) it might be bad, but you can make it a spin dash by simply holding down button. Another fact is that as Amy is smaller, she has a smaller hit box, so this makes it easier to dodge spikes (upside down) and attacks from some enemies, this goes for tails too. By the way, did you notice that the only defect that makes the character fall in this rank is the fact that she doesn't do the normal sonic jump? Of course the peel out is nerfed and there is no spin dash but in my opinion it is just the jump that is the main problem. By the way, in my opinion, I think Amy is really cool to play (my opinion). but the rest of the video is great, and thank you very much to those who read all of this (1% of people lol) :) EDIT : Just letting you know that if my English is wrong it's because I'm using the translator because I'm from another country.
