I'm glad you came around to believing your team's the best, because HOT DAMN, is that good for a Classic team! Petey, Red Mag, Waluigi, and Wario are all characters that can easily go in the first 10 or 14 picks of a NORMAL draft, and on top of that, you have Yellow Fellow/YF Daddy, Peach, Baby Mario, and Red Shy Guy. YSG is probably your worst character, which pretty good for a last pick. Your infield is on LOCK, and while Peach isn't a great pitcher, she's competent enough. Baby Mario can get the job done in right, as can RSG in center. Left field is probably the only weak spot defensively. Now, all that aside, I think you're undervaluing Boomerang Bro's team just a tad. Sure, having Toadette and Yellow and Green Toads on the team is weak-sauce, but defensively, he has the 2nd best pitcher, two of the best corner basemen, a shortstop who is probably better (in the field) than PM, a left or right fielder with chemistry to said shortstop, and then he can either put Toadette at second with chemistry to center and LF/RF, or have one of, if not THE best right fielders with chemistry to second base or shortstop (or even first, if he wanted to put Yellow Mag in the middle infield). Then when he's batting, Boomerang Bro has two of the top five homerun hitters, one of the best single/star hitters in Magikoopa, a potential HR bat in Blue Blob, a captain with a decent star hit, okay singles bat, and a great bunt. You also have Red Noki, with an alright singles bat and passible Falcon pop; Toadette, with a great bunt, insane speed, and in the right hands, an "ehh" singles bat. If she gets on base, and he can follow up with a miraculous Toad single, Boomerang Bro will have double chemistry for a Toad dinger, and if not that, then likely a sacrifice fly for Toadette to run it in.

I don't know why Clutch didn't go Red Koopa at least for his team. Red Koopa has a way better star swing and higher batting power anyway.

Ok I’m new to Superstar baseball. What does different color variants do? I know the color corresponds to different star swings, but the magikoopas all have line drive. I know they have different stats except when they don’t. It seems weird that it’s never consistent what color variants do. Like why is red toad (aside from falcon pop) so much better than other toads?

Red Toad has a longer bat and a smaller hitbox (so a pro and a con). Otherwise, the differences are what you said about stats and star hits

That the reason he could hit over a greater range across the plate was that his smaller model allows him to stand a littler closer to the plate, allowing the end of his bat's hitbox to be further away from the plate when he's standing as close to it as he can?

Any reason you’re going Wario over Peach for captain? While not a huge difference I feel like her star hit is slightly less useless. Also love the shocking twist that your team is best at the very end.

IMO, Wario's star hit is more useful, because unless your opponent can get Yoshi or Birdo right under it, they usually have to guess which of the two balls will be the real one, and if they try to stay in the middle and react, it will usually land. In contrast, Peach's star hit is usually caught if the opponent has had a little practice at fielding them, and sliding catch characters can often just get under the ball, and will make the catch as long as the player presses "A" at the right time.

Peach star hit is so easy to catch, especially if the fielder has played superstar mode with drop spots off (which I assume all the players in the seed are familiar with). Wario at least has the benefit of the 50/50 chance to field the wrong ball but imo neither star hit is worth using anyways.

Sure, but for what? I think having a laser character with good middle infielder skills and a so-so bat is pretty good for a fifth-round pick. Looking at the characters that appear to have gone later, it's all either bad fielders with decent bats, or bad batters who are okay in the field. Yellow Fellow has an okay bat and is better than most other characters at 2B/SS.

@@irishjet2687 I’d rather not risk the anti since you already have laser in walu, and no chem for yf. Personally I’d be more inclined to take noki or daisy with that team in that spot I think.. even though they also have petey anti they have better bats and more position flexibility (and won’t launch the ball into the stands with anti). Alternatively you could go for a gsg or green bones to get a pitcher so that you can comfortably leave waluigi in the field. I am not a big pianta fan so that’s a portion of it, but I still think choosing differently could be solid as well I haven’t gotten to watch the vid yet so like if he’s pitching peach the pitcher thing is obviously less of an issue
