Brazil= 24 UFC champions. Russia= 4 UFC champions. Historically, Brazil has 6x more champions, and currently Brazil has 2x more champions (Alex Pereira and Pantoja) than Russia (Makhachev).
@@asatryeefel1198 Agreed. Canada at 11th bellow countries like China is also outrageous. Canada has had 4 division champions, including a strong candidate for P4P GOAT with 9 title defenses (Georges St. Pierre). I think Hoppero did it for the lulz to see the discussion. There's no way he believes in his own list. LOL
USA and Brazil have been close to each other since the sport started with the majority of each division’s greats being a mixed between them. How is Russia about Brazil when their “rise” started about a decade ago Also Japan should be higher
Because it's no longer the 90s, yeah Roye Gracie was cool at the time, but where not in the era where anyone could join the UFC and you can become a legend off beating bums. Ever since Russians entered the sport they have dominated. Islam, Khabib, Umar, Yan, Khamzat, Fedor, Volkov, Pavlovich, Ankalev, Evloev, Imavov and so on have all had much more recent succes then the Brazilians
@@Fazak-nr3vxall = 4 Champions of the World Deiveson, Pantoja, Formiga, Wilson Reies, Renan Barão, Pedro Munhoz Marlon Moraes, Raphael Assunção, José Aldo, Renato Moicano, Diego Lopes, Charles Oliveira, RDA, Gilbert Burns, Anderson Silva, Werdum, Cigano, Minotauro, Jailton Almeida, Ronaldo Jacaré, Lyoto Machida, Maurício Shogun, Glover Teixeira, Alex Pereira, Vitor Belfort, etc = 15 Champions
@@Fazak-nr3vxFedor never fought in the UFC (I do have him as the HW GOAT though), Umar had a close fight with Cory who is the only good fighter he fought aside from Barcelos, LHW is arguably the worst division currently (that goes for Alex too), Evloev almost got finished by Arnold Allen and had a competitive fight with a sport notice Lopes, you’re lying to yourself if you think Volkov is dominating HW, Imavov really?, Yan last few fights were competitive, and Khabib is the only person here that actually dominated For the majority of each division the top 5 with have 1 or 2 Brazilians whereas Russia is just HW, LW, and maybe BW Also Brazil had far better fighters after the 90s so that’s a moot point
Lmao, it's a crime you putting russia over brazil in terms of UFC 😂😂. Just Royce Gracie on his peak had more sucess than 2/3 of russian fighters. And if you consider Anderson Silva and Amanda Nunes... >>>>>>> all russian fighters.
Poland is quite good in mma, but most of our talented fighters decide to stay in KSW instead of going to UFC. KSW pays way better for average level fighters and if you dont have high enough ambitions (like Gamrot, Blachowicz, Du Plesiss) its way better to stay in KSW and just get well paid.
Russia over brazil is the worst take i've ever seen. Brazil is closer to USA than Russia is from Brazil IMO. Undisputed Middleweight GOAT, Top 2 Featherweight GOAT (only volk clears aldo), Undisputed Womans OVERALL GOAT + all the great champs in Flyweight (GOW and Pantoja), Lightweight (RDA and Charles), Light HW (Belfort, Shogun, Lyoto, Glover) and HW (Cigano and Werdum)... Plus, the math is pretty simple, 24 BR champs against 4 russian ones. If u want to use the argument of the relevance of the champions overall, brazil still clears, Khabib's career too short to put him above Silva or Aldo in the all time list (maybe above Aldo because of how dominant khabib was). Islam have a really good chance of achieving top 5 all time status, but he is not there yet. If u want to use the argument of the relevance of the champions in the present, i mean, Poatan is p4p #2 to islams's #1... There is simply not a metric to be used that puts Russia over Brazil. You can talk past, present or future and Brazil will always be the most relevant country in the fighting game, only behind USA.
No way is he putting Russia over Brazil that doesn't make any sense at all. 20+ champions, and Royce Gracie who started the UFC, Alex Pereira arguably the best striker the UFC has ever seen, Charles do Bronx Oliveria holds most finishes and most submissions in UFC history, compared to a country who has a couple ranked fighters and 4 champions with 2 no one could name.
All absolutely on point except part rusia has couple ranked fighters. Islam, umar yan ulanbekov evloev volkov pavlovich ankalaev krylov murzakanov not to mention guys like khamzat imavov mokaev etc who dont fight under rus flag but were born there
I’ll tell you one thing, you group Australian and New Zealand as one “super country” but when erceg and kara France fought no Australian was going for Kara France and vice versa, cmon man 2 different countries, 2 different cultures and 2 different histories, as a country neither of us want our success to be cause of the other
You are wrong, in March he received Spanish nationality, so he is now officially Spanish. Not to mention that he has been living in Spain all his life and now he lives, his children are Spanish, his culture is Spanish... so he does have his Georgian heritage but to represent he represents Spain more. So Ilia really counts as Spanish champion
Saying Russia is better than Brazil is absolutely crazy when Brazil has fighters like: Anderson Silva, José Aldo, Royce Gracie, Alex Pereira, Wanderlei Silva, Charles Oliveira, Lyoto Machida, Edson Barboza, Minotouro, Pantoja, Vitor Belfort, Glover Teixeira, Gilbert Burns, Fabricio Werdum, RDA, JDS, Amanda Nunes, Deiveson Figueiredo, Shogun Rua, Demian Maia, Gleison Tibau, Cris Cyborg, Renan Barão, Jessica Andrade, Renato Moicano, Caio Borralho, Carlos Prates, Jean Silva, Maurício Ruffy, Antônio Bigfoot Silva, Marco Ruas and many others.
Brazil should be top 1, USA really do have a lot of champs on the course of history, but if you get the proportion of how many fighter in total are from USA, the percentage of successful fighters is low, they are just too much. Brazil don’t have that much fighters, but the numbers of successful are still close.
I like your videos, but the amount of times you repeat yourself every single time gets quite annoying. Every video would be maximum the half length if you wouldn't repeat everything you said several times.
I also make these kind of videos, trust me, it's harder than you think, especially if you are just speaking straight from your mind, it's just difficult to not repeat yourself, and then even if you make a script and read off it or something like that, it just makes you sounds unbearable and robotic.
Feel like including some of these countries over Sweden is kinda criminal, Gustafsson was a top contender for years, Latifi was a contender, Khamzat was a top contender while he still was representing Sweden and still big talent, Hermansson was big for a while, Albazi #3 ranked atm and Bane has potential to do big things in the welterweight division (going to be a really fun fighter to watch at least).
Arman tsarukyan is NOT georgian. Both parents armenian he’s born in georgia in a place where all armenians lived there. Wasn’t even raised in georgia mate He lives his whole life in russia
FUCK NO. Lol aldo isn’t even the featherweight goat. Volk is better and you can also make an argument that Holloway the guy who beat him twice has had a better career jus stop glazing aldo so much. He’s lost to every other featherweight goat that is in contention. Silva is miles better than aldo. Best middleweight ever
@@thevrocko7483 he isn’t tho. Losing for the first time at 38 while having a very dominant title run that is almost virtually unmatched by any other fighter on this earth is better than Jose Aldo the guy who lost at age 29 and couldn’t get back up to that same level. Lol trust and believe spida is far better than y’all let on. Lol 10 years back who were you kallin the goat? Silva ok then thank you sir
@@FlakkotherulerMMA Silva fought shit Comptetion when middleweight was at its lowest point. He lost when the competition started getting good. Aldo fought in the 2 most stacked divisions bantamweight and fw and only lost to the greats. Most of Aldo’s legacy’s comes from his wins after losing the belt
In France mma had a very bad réputation and was even prohibited for a time. Judo is a very big thing here with a lot of public money involed. So judo lobby made all it could to influence society away from it.
World champion in arm wrestling, world champion in weightlifting, countless judoka gold medalist, countless Greco Roman wrestling gold medalist, top 10 best country in rugby.
Imavov was born in Russia but I still think it’s weird that he wasn’t counted because he grew up and trained in France for most his life and represents France
@@Amrgoated Nah he mentioned Adesanya's dual citizenship for instance and counted Edwards whom is born Jamaican as English so he must've forgotten Imavov lol
No Topuria is georgian he is presenting Georgia He us from Georgia his parents is from Georgia and he calls himself Georgian but he loves Spain because he moved there and lived for so long so he is not Spanish. And yeah Georgia have like 4 top 10 dude 1 number 1 contender 1 champion and good contender like Kutateladze who even beat Gamrot
@@Kgopani3101 why do you think Dricus, a middle/upper class guy living in a developed country such as South Africa, is able to live and train adequately to become a successful professional MMA fighter, whilst several other aspiring fighters from underdeveloped nations such as Nigeria or Cameroon, need to move to more developed countries to do the same thing? 🧐 Also, the point was that Ilia and Izzy are “ethnically” Georgian and Nigerian respectively, which is true even for Ilia who was born in Germany
