August and September brought us SO many cozy games like Fae Farm and Harvest Moon The Winds of Anthos. I didn't get to play every single cozy game that released in the past two months, but I still wanted to rank the 5 I did get to try out!
Just remember these are my opinions and I always want people to try each game out for themselves. 🤎

I have been obsessed with Fae Farm and have almost 50 hours and am not even done the story yet lol Sooo good! And yeah, the Npc’s are literally the worst I’ve ever seen too lol I’ve been so spoiled after Wylde Flowers. I bought Paleo Pines and can’t wait to play it next!! I know I’m gonna love it! I just tried Sprout Valley yesterday. It’s such a cute, little, simple game. It’s got it’s issues, but I am enjoying my time so far.

You’re the reason I ended up getting Fae Farm and honestly S Tier. It is just so beautiful and relaxing. I love the colors and style and storyline. 💚

Ash, lovely content as always! Hoping you would consider doing a short informal video podcast speaking on the games you're currently playing, answering questions from the comments etc each week. There is a big shift towards discussion content here on RU-vid and I think you would be a perfect fit for that. It can also be chopped up into shorter videos for those that can't watch the entire thing in one go. Something like Simplypodlogic? A bit different from your gaming livestreams as it would be much shorter and you aren't having to play a game simultaneously. Hope you will consider it! Keep up the great work! 🙂

I am loving Fae Farm so much. I find myself getting lost in it when I turn it on before bed and I end up playing until 1am without realizing how long it’s been 😅

I love your rankings! It's so helpful, because I feel like in a lot of ways we overlap in game taste :) I've played like nothing recently, the only thing I can think of was Chicken Journey right after it came out, which was an absolute delight

I mostly played Fae Farm (A rank), A little to the Left (S), Palia (B) and Good Pizza, Great Pizza (A) these last two months, aside from that, it was mostly some HOG games. Thanks for the vid ^^

I agree with your opinions on palia as an mmo. I love your opinion on fae farm too. I haven advanced thus far...but it takes so long to get 8k currency for the final backpack upgrade and i have trouble finding any meaningful npc interactions. Glad to be a subscriber to your channel :D

Yesss I want palia to be better, and I’ll even probably give it another chance in the future, but for now I can’t. I hope you’ve been enjoying fae farm and got the upgrade! Also enjoy the new update that’s coming soon! ☺️

I played a little more Palia than you did, at the beginning of the open beta and during September event (around 15 hours in total) and I totally agree with your ranking. I'm a big introvert so I was afraid of having too many things relying on co-op, but while I'm glad that I can play on my own if I want to, the lack of real MMO communication and organization settings is really missing (and I played WoWa years ago so I'm not totally estranged to the genre). I don't know anyone playing in real life and getting flow trees is really difficult if you're not already in a group to farm together. Plus the game is extremely grindy, everything is very expensive and each update has nerfed all the ways we had to make a little money quickly. The chappa event was more everyone against each other, while it would have been a great opportunity to add a co-op event and so grindy that I gave up. We shouldn't have to grind for 100 hours just to be able to start decorating our house in a cozy game. For now, I'm playing Fae Farm and having a blast! I wish relationships worked more like Story of Seasons AWL, with one friendship bar and a love bar. I don't like that just talking to a character increase love without friendship. I want to be best friend with Pyria, not marry her, that should be an option too! And if they stopped time in all menus and when decorating too, this could easily be one of my favorite games of all time 😊

Oh my gosh I hope you’ve been enjoying fae farm! I agree with the friendship, I really hope they fix that in the update that’s coming soon. Hopefully they added more dialogue and interesting interactions. ☺️

As you recommended, I tried Cozy Grove and I really dig it! It's super relaxing, maybe not as much as AC for my personally, but still it's amazing game. Did you think about making tier list for all cozy games that you played before? Ps. So cool to hear that you also spent way too much time in FFXIV haha! Been playing it since Stormblood, but barely played it for last year, because of the new job :( so cozy games seems like a perfect fit for me at this point of life.

Aww yay! I’m glad you like Cozy Grove! I would love to do a tier list for all cozy games, I may do one at the end of the year for every cozy game I’ve played in 2023! 😁 Yessss ffxiv is so much fun! I don’t have the time to play anymore either sadly, but if I was going to play an MMO, it would be that one! 😁

I agree with your evaluation of Fae Farm but I will also add that for me, I personally don't like the time system. With the timer running as I try to switch things out in my inventory and when I trying to edit around my farm really kills me, even though I love most of the other aspects of the game. 😕 I wish the timer would freeze or that the day would run a little slower, so I can accomplish everything I need to do in a day on the farm and then go exploring

Oh my goodness yes! I forgot to mention that. The time running out while doing inventory stuff / decorating is very very annoying. 😭

Only cozy game I've been playing recently is Coral Island because I wanted to experience the new Merkfolk and Fall stuff. I definitely plan on getting Palia, but I am waiting for the Switch version because my PC is barely good enough to play Coral Island (even then there's lag issues). I am poor too so anytime I hear the word "Free" I am all ears. I want to get the new Harvest Moon game also. I don't think I'll be getting Fae Farm either. The major reason why I was going to get it was the romance option, but if that's the weakest part than I won't be getting it. Plus, the price of the game is off putting too. I've played enough Animal Crossing to realize as fun as customization is in a game, it can only take it so far before I get burned out. Besides I have a boat load of other games I want to get, one being Sun Haven, which is next on the list of games to get and that'll have my fantasy romance fix for a farming sim. I know once SDV's 1.6 update downloads though I'll be on that game again like flees on a dog lol. Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion, Ash lol. If we all liked the same thing, life would be boring.

I really wish I was interested in coral island! It seems to have so many updates and so many people love it. Oh yes 100% - palia is really cool because it is free and accessible for everyone. It’s just definitely a single player game and not an mmo, at the moment anyway. Definitely don’t get fae farm if you’re interested in the NPCs and romance! I’ll let you know if something changes in a future update, but as of right now, it’s not the games strong suit haha YES SV 1.6 ❤️ it’s going to have SO MUCH CONTENT for free. I’m so excited for that! Exactly! I’m always scared of people getting mad (and some do 😅) but I really just want to be honest with my opinions and then also I want people to be honest with me back! Like you said, we’re all different. It’s so fun hearing everyone’s thoughts! As long as they’re being nice LOL

@@ashscozycorner I just hope Palia plays well on the Switch. At the end of the day if the gameplay doesn't work, I don't want to have to worry about it. For 1.6 I plan on using my newest file since I actually achieved 100% Completion on it (and I'll never do that again, it was grueling lol). I like watching different review channels because I want different opinions, so I enjoy variety when it comes to peoples' opinions. And yes, as long as we respect each other.

Okay I 100% agree with your sentiment about Palia advertising as an MMO! I’ve spent enough time in actual MMOs for me to not be able to ignore that it just isn’t an MMO. It’s a single player focused game with like one element that requires multiplayer engagement (flow trees) and that’s it. In its current state, I feel like it’s multiplayer just for the *sake of advertising as an MMO* bc as I’m sure we both agree - that is what got my attention. They recognized a gap in the market, staked their claim on the concept, but have yet to actually fulfill the feeling they set out to. I do like the game, but I don’t love it like I wanted to. I feel like I’ll play it more on Switch when it’s out if it runs well.. but I can already imagine the performance issues with an “MMO” running online on the notoriously-bad-with-online Nintendo Switch 😬

I agree 100%. I just expected an mmo and when that wasn’t what I played, I was extremely disappointed. Hopefully in the future they can redo some things that make it feel more like an MMO experience, and I would definitely give it another chance! I do really like the outfits they’ve released so far 😂

@@ashscozycorner I’ve commented about this to you before, but I feel like Palia would be better enjoyed as a handheld game. Like Coral Island, like Stardew. I’ll excuse the lack of MMO-ness if I can play it in bed. 🤣

LOL yes anything you can take handheld on the switch to bed is instantly better 😂 Stardew valley 1.6 is coming soon and I’m so pumped for that ☺️

I’ve only had time to play Fae Farm. I’d give it a 8/10- just finished chapter 8 but the gameplay is top tier. Usually I play these games for the characters but I fell in love with the gameplay. And then I have picked up Potion Permit again because they released a major update and it’s pretty good! New marriage candidate too! I feel the same way about Palia too. Not buying it because of the MMO thing. I’d rather pay the $60 dollars or $70 dollars up front and have everything unlocked.

So many games so little time right?! The gameplay is truly so much fun. I hope in a future update they can fix the characters! I have actually never gotten a chance to play potion permit, but I did see where they had an update. What would you rate potion permit? ☺️

@@ashscozycornerPotion Permit is a 7/10 in my opinion. Some things could have been better and felt it was unfinished but overall, a solid game. Yes very little time 😂

Loads of farming games this year. Not played many though except A Wonderful Life and barely played that! Too many games :p I hated Palia, played for 20 minutes and shut it off. Controls/movement were awful!

Sorry to say but Fae Farm seriously stressed me out in the mines. I had to quit playing it after I finished the second mine. It was such a grind. The game is beautiful and I loved everything else but calling it cozy is a stretch for sure.

Oh no! Was it just how many floors there were, or was it the enemies? I always use the invisibility potions in the mines so I don’t have to fight a single enemy and it gets me through much faster. ☺️
