Hi, I made a video I'm actually proud of, please leave feedback and ratings, I would really appreciate it! Also, give me some suggestions on what we can do next, I'll happily give credit to the idea! I really hope you enjoy the ranking list and I hope to produce more videos I'm happy with in the future, thank you so much for watching!
Sorry I am late to this video. Many things happening around here irl. I would like to say this is very polished and looked/sounded great. I agree with your choices & the reasoning seems sound. I am supremely proud of you and this effort. I enjoyed it very much. 👍🏻👍🏻🥰🤗
I think the only thing I'd truly disagree with is Volendrung being so low, because if you're playing a (non enchantment using) two handed character it has the highest DPS due to having the swing speed of a great sword but the damage of an ebony hammer
But it doesn't benifit from any smithing skill, so you're stuck with just a Flawless Volendrung. You'd be better off with the longhammer, but maybe just stay with Volendrung because it looks cooler :)
@@alexculp2504 Yes! It has the exact same base damage as the ebony warhammer, but it unfortunately doesn't benefit from any smithing perks, so an enchanted + upgraded ebony warhammer would be better in every way
@@knoven- Ok but you can obtain Volendrung much earlier than you can any ebony weapon. That and also...you're forgetting the swing speed objectively being faster and thus pumping out damage faster
Exactly, it's great in the early game and the soul trap enchantment really helps with filling soul gems if you're not a mage. I don't get how it's ranked lower than a useless staff that you requires you to be a creep and a heavy armoured helm that you only wear when bartering or a lockpick that doesn't break(which you'll lose at the end of its quest line). I'd say the mace is even better than the hammer since it has more diverse enchantments.
I didn’t even know the mace did anything with stamina-and I use it every playthrough 😭 it’s my go-to for filling soul gems, especially on low-level enemies like mudcrabs, wolves, and skeevers. It fills gems and levels my one handed (since I usually prefer two handed); the soul gems work wonders for grinding enchanting with cheap jewelry I pick up in chests and stuff.
The shrine is also my favorite in the game looks wise. It also made sense for my character to have the hammer bc I started as an orc in one of the orc holds so it made sense for me to like bee line to that hammer
As hilarious as that is the free full set of orcish armor is a nice bonus and I prefer for him to stay on the ground so I don’t have to go looking for him later if he comes back down at all
I'm a big fan of The Ebony Mail. I'll usually wear it for a while, but I'll usually end up giving it to a companion after a while to give them extra damage to enemies.
The damage it makes its what ruined it for me, i can never go and back stab people while wearing it, cus the damage it makes to them alerts them of me, so it is useless as a sneaking item because of that, even tough it is supposed to be a sneaking item. Instead i just end up enchanting my boots with muffle and then i can sneak way more successful in heavy armor, witch is a shame, cus i would really like using it, for its looks and muffle, but because of the damage it is unusable.
His ranking of The Mace of Molag Bal is criminal, honestly. It has some of the highest damage of any 1-handed weapon, can be grabbed at level 1 if you want, and has 3 great enchantments. The stamina/magicka drain basically prevent enemies who don't die in 2 hits from casting spells to defend themselves, using power attacks, blocking effectively, or running away if they have AI for cowardice.... and then you steal their souls. It's like literally the perfect weapon for Molag Bal. Literally the only downside is that it eats up charges pretty quickly, but it also has soul trap so that's really not an issue imo, like who doesn't hold 200 soul gems at any time?
@@deadseven3474 "Like who doesn't hold 900 soul gems at any given time?" Me. And then I got the mace. And now I have to upgrade my stamina constantly just to hold it all. 💀
I came to this video expecting the mace to easily get top five then he says #17 mace of molag bal my fucking jaw drops. I’ve made sure to get it right away every single playthrough
The Masque is good especially if you get it early. Wear it any time you buy/sell items and you'll upgrade your speech skill way faster. Fortify barter is a fairly rare enchantment, so having an item with 20% to prices is really good. It's armor rating is good as well, on par with Daedric, although you need arcane smithing to upgrade it. If you are worried about the look, I think it pairs best with the steel plated armor set.
@@gojisoar Yes! That's the other one it's really good with, which is great because you can smith Nordic up to a pretty decent level and use it at the end game if you really want to.
@@chadsr3455 Dawnstar armor? What is that? Did you mean Dawnguard armor? I’m not trying to be nit picky I’m just genuinely interested to see if there’s something I missed
the mace of molag bal is actually really good imo. The enchantments may be bad, but the base damage is the same as the ebony mace, and you can get mace of molag bal a lot earlier. It carried me all the way to level 39 on my one handed/stealth build and I still use it as my non-stealth weapon today
On my first playthrough ever of Skyrim I hired that Tool Belrand in Solitude to follow me. Im not sure what happened but he turned on me in the middle of a battle, so now he is 100% my choice to take to Boethiah's shrine
I never even thought about it until now, but I think the Ohgma Infinium is indeed made of flesh. I always thought the colour choices were weird on it, but it makes sense when you realize it’s the skin of every race which is diverse in colouration
“Give up items and haggle prices down to get the staff you want” “Looks in the back of inventory at 137 scrolls and one potion worth 987 gold” Lol I love oblivion so much
I still don't understand why the sanguine staff is so high on the list, you could literally just cast soul trap on a dead corpse for like 20 minutes and you get conjuration 100 :/
The saving grace of this video is the ranking of Dawnbreaker and it's quest I hate when people complain about the beacon Not only it's the only useful and unique artifact (beside spellbreaker) but you also get a ton of gold from all the dessicated corpses
Skyrim is one of the most balanced and refined experiences you will have playing video games. It has no glitches, and people like you are clearly lizard people trying to spread false news. Todd Howard stood beside Jesus when he was born, trying to present the Elder Scrolls -1000, a stone tablet that is made intractable through the power of god. The sheer audacity!
>Be me. >Don't use soups all that much. >When I do, it's only the ones that instantly restore HP like apple-cabbage. >Actually prefer stamina enchantments over soup. >Watch this video. >Two of the best unique weapons near the bottom of the list.
- Lets Silus Vesuvius live. - Kills Eola immediately in the Hall of the Dead. - Hands the Black Star to Nelecar. - Keeps the Rueful Axe. - Lets Erandur destroy the Skull of Corruption. Pretty sure the Daedric Princes hate me lol
Clavicus vile isn’t mad at you the rueful axe is terrible the slowest weapon speed and poorest damage of two handed weapons it’s his trick on you letting Barbus live still gives him his power but his true artifact is umbra
Early game, pair the Masque of Clavicus Vile with the Amulet of Dibella, receive a blessing of Dibella, give a beggar a coin, and drink a potion of fortify speech. There will be very few speech checks that you can fail when all of that is active at the same time.
The cloud effect on the ebony mail is a 5-point poison aura if you mix it with the invisibility while crouched quest reward for the Thieves Guild you end up crouching and becoming an invisible poison cloud it takes a long time to kill people and they stare at you like they know you're there but that muffle effect keeps you covered
I’ve never realized vegetable soup had such a strong effect, but I also never use consumables of any sort, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that I missed that, lol. I don’t even use potions anymore, just magic. I also use Wildcat though, so healing isn’t even that necessary because you often die in 1 or 2 hits anyways. Sounds like vegetable soup would completely defeat the purpose of making all attacks drain stamina, hence negating half the purpose of using the mod to begin with (that being the challenge)
Honestly the Ebony Blade became way better for me once I realised that I could just kill the friendly dwemer automatons the dragonborn dlc saddles you with. They respawn once you leave and re-enter the ruins they appear in so you don't have to worry about, you know, murder. Can't lie though it is pretty lacking in damage output later on even when maxed out. Not being able to upgrade it sucks too. Swapped it out for a regular daedric greatsword I'd given a health drain enchantment to.
The logic of discounting stamina enchantments because you use an exploit is stupid as all hell, just use the restoration exploit and a fork with several million damage is the best weapon in the game.
dawnbreaker is my favorite daedric artefact cuz it was the first one i ever got and i like the way it glows. my only annoyance is when the undead run away from me, having the chase them down is so tedious sometimes. it is fun to watch them explode tho :)
There are still 17. Hercine has 2 and the glitch to get both still works. And the Skeleton Key, although it doesn't count toward the trophy, is still a "Daedric Artifact"
My favorite is the dog mask, I use it from beginning to very late game (until I get the Blackguard's Hood). Sanguine Rose is a good backup weapon, though I try my best not to use it.
@@breadneck5607 how is that possible? black guard hood:Prices are 25% better. dog mask: Prices are 20% better. As for fortify speech of Masque of Clavicus Vile, speech skill max out at 100, and even before you max out speech, the black guard hood is still better, because fortify speech have less influence to prices than fortify barter.
Glad that Dawnbreaker got such love! It's one of my favorite weapons in the game, and the quest is also quite fun. It's also one of the few daedric artifacts I don't feel bad using on a "lawful good paladin" type character. All in all, great list!
I'm only just now starting to appreciate how useless most of these items are. I collect them all on every play through, but I use maybe two or three of them at most. I will say, if you use Volundrung in combination with the Elemental Fury shout, it kicks ass.
I think a lot of arguments to made for daedric artefacts are how powerful they are early game, and the masque of clavicus vile can tip you over the edge in mid early game when doing something such as buying 2 dwarvern ingots and an iron ingot and turning them into a dwarvern bow, and making a profit. That's how I made my money in my latest game and I needed the masque to do that
I would I put the mace and the mask higher because they are great early weapons, my dual Dawnbreakers 2nd because I love them and the star WAY down the list. It's seems useless to me. But I am so happy that Rose is number 1 🌹 Nice List! Great Video too!
The star is actually really good. Reusable black soul gems are great. And since you probably duped to get two dawnbreakers I can use the point of having 10 stars to never worry about soul gems again.
Volendrung is actually my favorite weapon in the entire game, since I love playing a 2-handed heavy armor character, being able to do heavy attacks an infinite amount of times is incredibly powerful, especially with a weapon that does nearly as much damage as a daedric and dragon bone warhammer and is excellent for someone who doesn’t want to go looking for ingredients. Along with infinite heavy attacks, enough swings and it will prevent your enemy from being able to do heavy attacks
22:48 Now I do not know if you know this... but leather is just flesh. Skin more accurately. So you could argue the Oghma Infinium is a mixture of human flesh or human leather. Little orc, a little elf, etc.
Great video. Gotta say that I don't tend to use the Razor myself. In the rare instances that it does its job and quickly kills a strong enemy, I feel robbed of a tough fight, but that's just me
The ebony armor is also an early warning system like walking down the road and a wolf, saber, dragon or anything really agros on you the armor will turn you dark and spew poison
I'm with you honestly, dawnbreaker, the razor, and the rose are all on my hotbar. I wish the dremoras moved faster though, often Serana will be halfway through an opponent when the dremora gets his first hit in 😆
Ah… boethia‘s armour. I used this thing for a funny but stupid playthrough as a sneaky warrior mage. It was a ludicrous build: I wore heavy armour, used one-handed, mostly conjoured blades in one hand and the cloak spells from the destruction tree. Single enemies were taken out by sneak attacks (I „capped“ myself at sneak 50 and Assassin‘s Blade, meaning I couldn‘t learn any sneak peeks above 50, before learning this I wore the shrouded gloves as my only light Armor piece), the cloaks gave me bonus damage for groups of enemies and for really hard encounters I maxed out the destruction tree and had the master spells at hand. I restricted myself to this, meaning my char didn‘t use non-conjured blades (other than a dagger for sneak attacks), or any destruction spells other than cloaks and the master spells (namely Fire Storm when really in trouble and Lightning Storm when really annoyed by groups of mages). I couldn’t conjure anything besides blades (and the horse from the Soul Cairn), so no bound bows, atronachs or resurrect the dead. I also used the Atronach stone for increased magic resistance. It was a fun playthrough, but I found the build massively overpowered before I put the aforementioned restrictions in place.
Nice list! I honestly think the black star is the most useful for me, but that's because my stealth archer is a battlemage/spellsword so I almost always have high magicka and iirc there's a conjure dremora spell spawn in apocrypha. There's definitely flame thrall there. You can also power level conjuration by soul trapping dead things so getting conjuration up isnt too bad, plus the sigil stone and atronach forge can seriously benefit a spellswrod...or just make you money. Sanguine rose looks so sick though, can't argue that.
The Mace of Molag Bal is really useful to weaken enemies and preventing them from doing more damage than necessary. The Stamina damage comes in handy since enemies don't eat vegetable soup and it has as much damage as a Daedric Mace which is crazy. The Masque of Clavicus Vile is the only headgear in the game with Fortify Barter, which is an enchantment you can only have on necklaces, so it's useful there as well
The things you call advantages are more disadvantages ngl. You waste having an actually useful enchantment just for stamina. While the skeleton key allows you to open almost any lock without wasting perk points on unbreakable lock picks.
Or you can make a play were they're the most evil and then redeem themselves. They can even relapse from time to time when they're trying to be a good person. That way you dont miss out on quest that are a little more morally questionable.
I think the skeleton key should be higher if I’m honest, the design is cool and unique especially among the boring lock and lock pic design that you constantly see, not to mention it’s uses in game. Once you complete the quest and get it you can use it to max out your lock picking skills to the max and then you could always legendary the skill tree and start again essentially gaining unlimited XP, though with the way locks work in Skyrim it’s hard to say how long you could use that for without it becoming a burden.
I really enjoy the Clavicus Vile quest, but I've never used the Rueful Axe (only got it once, and hated myself for it, so I guess I rued that), and I have maybe used the Mask once? I don't remember using it. It does look pretty terrible.
Mace of molag bal deserves to be higher, it lets you gain a lot of enchanting xp if paired with the black Star cause you can use the freshly captured souls to refill it and thus gain enchanting xp even if you aren't a one handed user you can still give it to a companion and let them fill all your soulgems up
@@asketillus8679 sorry for the late reply but when you first enter the area with the necromancer there is already 1 in front of him. I recommend running strait up and getting it because it might get flung around the area if you fight him first. When you interact with the pedestal you will get a second one. I’m not sure if the unofficial patch mod messes with this because I play on switch
I love using the Ebony Mail in combination with a cloak spell, Dragon Aspect Shout, Berserker Rage, and Vegetable Soup as a unarmed combat booster. It works really well in sipping away enemie's health.
He mentions about 15.28 that Falkreath is a "kip" for the non Irish viewers a quick translation of this slang term Kip = wretched hive of scum and villainy or just a shitty place to live or visit. Thanks straightupirish for your videos I can say I find them interesting.
I nearly lost my Sanguine's Rose to the Hendraheim house on Switch, where console commands aren't possible. I didn't realize that the weapon racks were bugged and could cause weapons to become permanently stuck there, and I had immediately put it on display in the basement alongside a bunch of other stuff sense I don't really use it. I nearly had a heart attack when I heard about the bug, and realized I couldn't pick it up. After maybe five minutes of trying to shove myself as far into the wall as I could, I was eventually able to find the one pixel of space where I could rescue Sanguine's Rose. I can't say the same for the Master Sword, though...that one's still stuck.
Voolundrung actually ABSORBS stamina lol it actually is nice because it pays for itself when using power attacks. It would actually rank much higher for me
Also got funny guard dialogue “ what do you plan on doin with that hammer friend. Knock down a house” it’s swing speed is low but deals good damage and the enchantment does pay off as you gain it
I absolutely disagree with the placement of Ebony blade. I honestly think you have never actually used it fully powered. It has good damage, a ridiculously fast attack speed, and the 30 points health drain (which you can apply to several enemies simultaneously) is disgustingly strong. If you have decent armor you are almost unkillable in melee because almost no enemy deals that much DPS even on Legendary difficulty. I don't usually use it since it strips all challenge from the game If I were to rank it, I would put it at number 2, behind Azura's star, because as strong as Ebony blade is it's only good for melee oriented while Azura's star (or rather Black star) is irreplaceable for any character
Seconding this. If you can't bring yourself to kill 10 of your friends, kill one friend 10 times, using the dead thrall spell in between. Narfi is a good candidate for this, being both easy to befriend and a Dark Brotherhood assassination target. It's a good weapon for followers, since it never needs recharging.
@@MrSpeedysam60 Sure. There are enough disposable NPCs to go around that I don't deem that necessary, and it has the downside of requiring 90 Conjuration which limits how fast you can power up the sword. If you roleplay a good character who doesn't want to kill his friends then the dead thrall trick is an option to circumvent that
Wow the Mace put at the bottom? Jesus one of the best early games weapons. And for people who hate cooking makes stamina very important. Also it helps you when playing a battle mage. Also collecting souls means you can keep refilling it over and over again. This thing is a beast. I could go down your list and destroy everything. Most of the weapons and items are worse then high end gear where you can enchant weapons even without the loop. Also Volundrung is one of the highest dps weapons due to the fact it swings faster than all other warhammers. Once again you underrate stamina items as this allows you to deal constant power attacks with out having to stop every few minutes to eat soup.
Something interesting about the Mace of molag Bal is that it has the highest base damage of any one-handed weapon in the game, making it the best weapon for power levelling one handed skill.
Daedric artifacts found in the elder scrolls games do 2 things for me: 1.) They make me start thinking in a way that inevitably leads me down a 4-12 hour rabbit hole of learning more about elder scrolls lore, making notes of said lore, and then making theories/fan stories from said notes. 2.) Inspire me to make a change to my gameplay ranging from making a small alteration to my current character in order to incorporate the item I've found - to creating an entirely new character whose entire aesthetic/playstyle/world interaction is based around certain artifacts.
ive been under the impression that Daedric artifacts arents meant to feel like super weapons, but something you save til the end game to overcharge your already maxed skills/abilities
I agree with the placement of most of these, but my one gripe is Dawnbreaker's placement. It is one of my favorites for sure, but it can be negative to a playthrough, too. The explosion of flames after killing an undead enemy WILL harm you if you're a vampire. I've accidentally burned myself into a crisp too many times to count by forgetting I was a vampire (whoops)🤣 That being said, I'm super excited about Dawnbreaker and the Oghma Infinium getting some love. While I absolutely hate the voice of Hermaeus Mora, I also have to hand it to the voice actor- they made being in the presence of a cool looking tentacle/eye creature something to dread.
