Amen, the lightly obscure falling down path and shootable switch in the Courtyard's starting area that at least resembles a switch you've already used before don't have crap on the random wall decoration that leads to the exit.
Excellent video! It was entertaining to watch your opinions and it was amazingly edited. The only thing that might be a negative is there not being a visual for the rankings until the end.
I didn't hate any of the Doom 2 levels, but yeah on a first playthrough there is lots of just... Unintuitive parts Ended up googling once or twice which is a shame, and the levels really did not play to the strengths of the engine (e.g. high verticality above enemies where they look like walking pieces of paper)
Probably the most "unique" is at the bottom of my list, because I don't think a Doom map should be that cryptic. Save something like that for optional secrets.
Excellent video! ..Just 1 question though; Why do you pronounce the last word of every sentence the same way? Did someone teach you? You're not the only youtuber who does this, but to me it's unbelievably annoying
I think the impression a level makes on someone is too much of a personal thing. It depends on what mood, age or gaming level you were when you played it. You remember the feeling, the mood, and the dire situations you were in. I played Doom 2 only after having played puzzle games like Tetris and Solitaire so it was all new to me. I love every Doom 2 level the same. :)
It’s annoying to play through due to feeling like you going over the same ground repeatedly and not intuitive as to what the next step is. but somehow it’s always been memorable to me. I think because it’s the first time in what feels like a really big space
Seeing the PC levels just makes me realise how much better The Playstation version is. Sure this is faster and smoother and Some of the PS levels are cut down, but it just looks naff on PC. It doesn't have any of the atmosphere or feeling of Hell that the PS has.
