Final warning catalyst is a free 10-5% damage buff which changes its body shot optimal ttk in crucible which is what its great at in pvp and i usually find myself getting nearly another full burst with it in pve due to the ammo return, idk why everyone slanders it so much easily a great catalyst and one of the best guns in the game
I did in depth testing for final warning a few weeks ago and the amount of shots to kill is still the same, it just makes it more consistent from longer range on marked tagets
it's still an admittedly awkward weapon by design. I personally love it but never fault anyone for not liking the gun, and the catalyst effectively doesn't change its, again, awkward usage
do you know if it actually gets any boost from something like verity's brow? like could i theoretically get 5 forerunner kills and throw a mega buffed frag grenade?
@@McRib29800 pre rework it still had its uses it was a highly specialized tool that required a deft hand to make work but for the vast majority of players they couldn’t get it to work

A fundamentally solid weapon doesn’t need crazy exotic perks to compete, I’d argue it’s crows wing exotic perk sucks, but the dual fire slug/pellet make it so versatile
My rework for borealis catalyst would be to give it subclass equivalent aoe effects based on the element selected. Ie, incandescent, destabilizing rounds, voltshot. And have it get a handling bonus when breaking shields that match the element it currently has.
Forerunner's grenade is actually really chunky and mean in PvE if you mix it with Verity's brow. I'm also a complete freak and like the bouncy nature of the grenade. Great video ❤

The only arguable scenario where you might not want a catalyst, and this is very situational, is with the fact that Quicksilver Storm changes from Kinetic to Strand. If you wanted to use it for equal dark and light transcendence energy, or for kinetic siphon or other mods, or with specific artifact perks, now you can’t. At the same time, obviously Strand has a ton of synergies as well, getting the tangles is a huge boon for Strand builds, and having a few Strand exotic primaries to choose from is always a good thing. There are merits to both, is all I’m saying.
Another day Im reminded that after having played the game since launch and grinding my butt off on nessus that I still do not have the sturm catalyst. Lol
@@nate_that_one_kid8671 no matter how many times I listened to this video. I still make mistakes like that. In my notes I still considered incandescent in the ranking, in my testing it really doesn’t help much for scorch, it’s one of those “it’s there” catalysts that’s why I rank it so low
Minor correction but unless there was a more recent twab that I’ve missed this is how kinetic damage works. Ripped straight from the article. Gods I hate how annoying information is to find in this game. “Kinetic damage type weapons no longer deal bonus damage to bosses; damage to other combatant tiers is unchanged.”
That’s what I was talking about when I was trying to dunk on quicksilver storm catalyst haters, it literally doesn’t matter what damage type you use in the kinetic slot anymore
I have no idea why you insist that Outlaw is better than 4TTC on Revision Zero. You can get 6 sniper shots instead of 4, and it drastically helps in damage and racking up the charges with the base gun.
For Black Talon, do a retest but this time on a titan with Stronghold. You don't lose energy on sword blocks, so you could probably get two swings off with the bonus damage. Some catalysts do require a playstyle to use, and i think Black Talon is one of those class-focused catalysts. Also, legend of acrius used to have only 2 in the mag normally, so it's +4 shots.
I remember chasing my first catalyst for the borealis and was very disappointed with it, I expected maybe debuts for each of the elements for something good but it was just reload speed
@@reaper-1 tractor cannon was my first catalyst done, I was so underleveled at the time it was the only way I could damage enemies at max tier escalation protocol
And to clarify, this is for like, big enemies. The main function is to swap to it, block a big enemy's shot and then dump a double heavy at it. Was super useful versus stuff like the frost and Strand using big things in the pale heart. Harbingers? I think.
@@sammantixgm I just don’t like putting yourself purposely in danger to get more damage since this specifically counteracts the purpose of the sword (at the time the only sword that could cast projectiles) the damage isn’t worth it compared to the danger you put yourself in
Ager's scepter taking your super is actually a better use of your super if you're using stasis warlock due to how poor it performs against bosses. There's a number of supers that would be better put to use as ager's fuel. I wish it wasn't true lmao
Checked video because of the thumbnail. Putting Ace catalyst in B and not D is crazy considering you put grandovertures catalyst in B tier as well. It gives it more handling, gives it more synergy with arc class, and gives it the most important upgradez utility. Ut can stun unstop champs with 5 with oen volley shot. Easily A tier
Personally I haven’t tried it, I’m sure it would work since the whole of the witness is damageable so I don’t think tracking would be an issue but deathbringer dps is not stellar
i watched you vid in one go and i have to say you almost everwhere right but prometheus Lense is good with the cata if you play it more often on warlock it is good not as good as sunshot but its is A tier for me
Polaris lance catalyst C rank? Bruh... I would've kept it B, because it not about damage, it about crowd control The catalyst is actually great against trash mobs, maybe a little bit more damage against harder mobs when hit with dragonfly But even then, it about crowd control not damage
@@sabiant.lawson2909 you have to consider what it adds to the gun, at base dragonfly was never that good of a perk, there is a reason why you don’t see it on new guns anymore. My testing showed me that whatever damage dragonfly provided actively took away from chaining perfect fifth scorching to the point where it was simply better to not hit the enemy in the head with the perfect fifth so dragonfly didn’t ruin the chain reaction
im suprised you put touch of malice catalyst that high considering that rapid hit is a really dumb perk to put on a weapon whos whole thing is not reloading it
Ybut the damage boost from the catalyst doesn’t effect that, it’s still a 2 shot, it’s just an underwhelming- but easy to prime damage buff In PVE. It’s going to one shot in PvP if you hop fire all 3 and hit the zoomed shot to detonate
One thing I will say for audio mixing is that the music in the background is overwhelming what you are saying and I find it hard to hear, the quality of information from this video is great but I just can’t hear you speak over the music
My biggest challenge as a creator has always been audio balancing, I just don’t have the ear for it. So it sounds good pre tender but post tender the peaks and valleys are inconsistent
That’s a flaw with centrifuse, the catalyst fixes the big issue of you always have to keep moving, now you can just sit back and relax with full charge for one full magazine, people don’t expect it in crucible

@@denny8422 amplification adds a reload multiplier I dont know what the multiplier is but by the time an ionic trace reaches you, you already are at full ammo if it further than 3-4 meters away
simple question : why cant EVERY exotic weapon be awesome? why are only a handful viable and the rest trash? MAKE DESTINY FUN AGAIN - beef up the weak exotics, boost sub classes so they are all viably awesome. Nothing needs changing visually juat change in game dmg numbers to make sense. Make it make sense ! btw if Gambit were given raid like boss encounters it could be used as a boss raid test arena giving it something of value
@@paragon5186 Agreed - I can only assume Bungie has employed some of the best psychologist in gaming & gambling out there, they show a pattern of giving not quite enough - like some kind of drug dealer but that psychology only works when the "product" is "hot". Now is the time to add some incentive to play the game, and fun being one of those incentives. In the past bungie has known if we get what we want/ask for, will want more hence the "just enough" treatment but times have changed so let us go out on a bang, prismatic is a sign of that and they have said they're looking at a handful of exotic weapons but it maybe 6 months too late for this open the flood gates manoeuvre. Where's skimmers? Final Shape should have been the intro to lofty announcements of great things ahead ... instead layoffs? I maybe no ceo but is that not the shittiest business practice ever or are the future forecasts that bad that killing of D2 is better than developing it & a D3? I know we are all doom n gloom with the layoffs but there are still 800+ people left, thats a lot of people to maintain an already existing game. (& even enough to develop 1 or 2.) (scuse for not exactly addressing the exotics topic but its still relative.
I wanna say that Aegr's scepter's best functionality is with stasis which does not have particularly great supers (lookin at you, winter's wrath) so it could be a better usage of super meter than what the class offers
