In your next HW2 multiplayer you should play as the Johnson and fully upgrade him and send him to the ennemy bases so you can say you handed them the Johnson.
I mostly agree with what you said but i want to add that no matter which leader you take, it will only depend on the teams composition and how well you can adapt yourself with the different armies coming at you, i remember those games that were hours long because of both armies well countering each others ahah
@@dereckperez8406 it’s way too much going on in halo wars 2 the leader powers don’t feel unique like they did in halo wars 1. When you have a battle in halo wars 2 it almost feels forced, not natural like in halo wars 1. I just wish ensemble studios helped with this game like they did the first one. @@GoBuckeyes216 definitely feel this. They added the Rock Paper Scissors system but I think Halo Wars 1 was balanced enough with all the counters. Played halo wars 2 for like a week but have been on halo wars definitive ever since.

Do people still play Deathmatch mode? Cause Prophet was the GOAT in that mode, which makes it weird seeing people hate on him in the comments. My friend and I were #1 and #2 on the monthly leaderboards for about half a year straight using him. Granted, this was about 4 years ago, so maybe the meta advanced too much
Dude hawks are actually amazing, back in the day of halo wars 1, i use to make people rage quit in 3v3 parties, my buddies would protect me at all cost and i was the anchor, all i built was hawks and spartans. When i had 20 max population hawks, i could 1v3 the whole game if my teamates where eliminated, scarabs and voltures were ez money.
There's always a counter to every strategy, if someone prepared correctly, especially if you're facing multiple people all it would take are a few wolverines or vampires, God help you if you face both at the same time. Both of those vehicles are underutilized and people tend to stick to one strategy for all of their games, even I used to do it, pretty much the exact same as you except with grizzlys instead. The worst is when you're fighting 40 units of odsts and whenever you kill a couple more are instantly dropped in their place.
Hate to be a nerd but in my opinion forge is the best leader. My reasoning behind that is that you if you scorpion rush off the bat then their large numbers mean that air vehicles can be taken down very quickly and when you upgrade to grizzlys they are very hard to destroy and their chain guns can take down the most powerful air units like vultures. If I’m trying to see how far I can get on legendary skirmish, the scorpion rush works 100% of the time for me. I’m currently on 132 difficulty ai and they have never managed to destroy more than 6 scorpions but obviously ai plays a lot differently to humans. They almost never build up their units and just try to rush and there are almost never change what unit they build if they’ve already committed to one unit My list would be 1:forge 2: cutter 3: chieftain 4: arbiter 5: prophet 6: Anders
Disrespecting the Prophet that way. I haven't met many players that can respond to anti-base attacks on 3 different bases with 2 scarabs and a Prophet. In fact, I don't think I've met any.
I still like how halo wars 1 each hero is viable and has a gameplay style halo wars 2 feels just too many heros for the sake of size rather than craft of thr heros use in the game.
6. Chieftan 5. Prophet 4. Forge 3. Anders 2. Cutter 1. Arbiter. The Arbiter is my personal favorite leader to play with and honestly I think Forge would be a lot better if he appears as a leader you can fight with on the battlefield just like in the campaign
Dude campaign on legendary and I’ll you’ll ever here is “Forge is down”. His hog is great but he’s weaker than a single marine. That being said- a proper implementation would have been really cool. If he had some upgrade path? That would be neat. Honestly though just building him as a free unit would still have been neat. Anders too. It would be nice to have a free unsc engineer. Could’ve given Cutter like an AOE veteran effect. Could’ve been neat.
You guys are all seriously new to the game. In low level 3v3's some of these rankings might work but against decent players Forge and Prophet are shit because they have zero early game. The video is close, but Anders and Arby are better if you know the exploits. Anders especially, though she's very difficult to play correctly.
William Bauer if that's the case then how come as a general rank I can win 1v2's against other generals? There's a difference between a leader being shit and a player not knowing how to use them properly and the way they are supposed to be used.
@@FutureOfHalo My man, I've played this game for over 10 years. I know what I'm talking about. The prophet is a decent late game leader, especially on a lot of the 3v3 maps, but if you're playing against anyone who knows what they're doing, there is no late game.
I had a lot of success using Prophet at general rank so long as your teammates could help fend off any early attacks. Anders was my go-to tho, loved the discounts on building.
My Ranking is: 1. Cutter (good base, good units) 2. Anders (good research, good units) 3. Chieftain (strong leader, strong units) 4. Prophet (weak leader, good units) 5. Forge (good economy, weak units) 6. Arbiter (strong leader, weak units) The arbiter can easily turn the tide of battles but his rage ability can just as easily be overwhelmed by a tank or brute rush and his kamikaze grunts are nothing more than overpriced grunts that can harass enemies. The prophet has honor guards which are like small arbiters and can be used as a dropship while also being able to glass enemy units. The chieftain is basically a walking tank and has brutes, which next to spartans and hunters are probably the strongest infantry ingame and his votex can wipe out armies.

The prophet at number 5 is an insult to the game. Anyone who thinks this has absolutely no idea on how to use and exploit him or even comprehends RTS's for that matter. He is there to harass your opponent not singlehandedly take on whole armies. If you're constantly and consistently destroying one or two buildings and a few units at a time he will greatly put you ahead of the game. I have won SEVERAL 1v2s and even recall winning a 1v3. I have a little over a 120 games with the prophet and have only lost 18.
Grizzlies are the best ground vehicle bar the scarab. Upgrade spartans, vet them out, same with the grizzlies, and you'll get the highest level cap for a unit base game, 14 veterancy. + 3 grizzly vet, + 3 spartan vet, + 4 all grizzly upgrades +4 all spartan upgrades (spartans start off with 1 extra, as indicated by the shield at the bottom of the unit icon) Every extra number your shield gains is a buff multiplier for hp and dam. The higher the number, the stronger the multiplier (like 1.05x if I remember the files or something like that) Everyone rags on the grizzlies but that one extra level on a mainline battle tank is indeed good.
@@BungieStudios the extra vet level on spartan grizzlies gives a bonus multiplier, regardless of the bug bc the grizzly upgrade gives an extra level, which improves the spartans performance, therefore making grizzlies w spartans better than upgraded scorps w spartans
anders is the best. air units are better than ground because of the terrible pathing making her ground unit rush gearswitch to air the best also her half price half time upgrades go hand in hand with the fast gear switching. always scout the enemy no leader is good if you have no intel!

1: Chieftain, the Chieftain himself is really OP, he can stun any unit and do insane amounts of damage to them. The brutes are the best unit in the game, if you make an army of just brutes nothing can stop them. 2: Anders, pretty much what you said in the vid, hawks are pretty good and cryo bomb is really good. Her passive is pretty OP where all upgrades for units and the field armory cost half as much as usual. 3: Prophet, Prophet himself is great too. He's the only air unit that can collect supplies, has that shield that's pretty rage inducing and the cleansing beam is amazing. He's by far the best leader to troll with. 4: Forge, like in the video, the instant heavy supply pads works wonders and if enough are built you can really get an army going much faster than any other leader. 5: Arbiter, the Arbiter can either be really good, or really bad. First off, the glitch with him where he can run twice as fast is insanely overpowered and back when the suicide grunts weren't completely useless they can be used to rush early on. But I find him pretty easy to counter and just mediocre at best. 6: Cutter, i almost disagreed with everything said in the video, while the base improvements are good, they wouldn't really make much difference if you don't have an economy. The ODSTs are complete *anus*, they are easily killed and aren't worth it; yes you can troll with them but they don't do enough DPS to mean anything. The elephants kind of suck but they are fun to use. The Mac blast is alright at best but I just think every other leader outclasses him.
You have no idea how much of a pain Cutter was to fight on heroic Skirmish. When I almost deal with all their attacking units, ODST drops continue attacking the defenses. If you have trouble using him, it is on you.
@@jonathancole3149 ODSTs are used as a decoy or to harass an enemy or to literally block the path of enemy armies to either run away or kite (like in the case of Hunters). The mac blast is the most powerful leader ability as it's incredibly effective against air units and can give you a significant edge when fighting the Scarab/Engis cheesers. The only other leader power that nearly as valuable is a good placed cryo bomb.
@@jonathancole3149 So you actually think ODSTs armies are viable? they get countered way too easily, they're good for the surprise factor or to kill bases/reactors. Once people know that your strategy is simply spamming ODSTs you're easy pickings. Now, if you're actually telling me that you use them to press an advantage, like you've just won a huge battle and then you go straight for their base and start spamming odst squads to keep them pinned while you rebuild a proper army, then yes i agree it is incredibly powerful, but that counts as "harassing", you need actual firepower to win games, there's no way that keeping 10 ODSTs squads on the ground at any one time is more beneficial that just building 3 more Scorps or 5 Wolverines (if they do die in battle, then hell yes drop those ODSTs to get back to full pop and overrun a weakened enemy). To clarify i'm talking about 2v2 and 3v3 where you need to have the best unit coverage and mobility possible, 1v1 are a rush fest.

I was cringing my head off looking at the other comments, this is the first comment I’ve seen by anyone who has a clue. When I played double Arby forge or brute arby forge and going tanks was still meta in 3s and people hadn’t realized guass was flat out better for 3s yet (maybe the best teams we’re starting to go guass and run double arby anders or arby brute anders around when I stopped playing). I played 2010-2011ish. So in that meta maybe would put forge over cutter (although it seems like cutter arby stayed the best 2s combo), but for final meta this is spot on because people just got better with guass making forge obsolete in teams (although ok on non expo 2s maps).
1. Arbiter It fucks EVRYTHING The only melee unit which can hit air. When upgraded units around him get buffed(like that new flood unit in halo wars 2)his rage is amazing. He can wipe out a scarab by himself and from experience I had a 3 veterancy and he wiped a whole population of cultures with his ability. His suicide grunts aren't that good though but when your leader is op that doesn't matter 2.Cutter With elephants cutter can rush at the start which is annoying. The ODST are pretty shit but since you can drop them anywhere just spam behind there base or right on there turrets. That's about it for cutter 3. that brute guy The brute Chieftain can wreck anything even when disruption bombs are dropped. That stun on his hammer means he can 1v1 Spartan operated grizzlys and wreck. He destroys infantry and now that I think about Chieftain can hit air with his ability. His brutes really go to town on anything at the start of the game and is really annoying if rushed by this. 4.Anders Anders is a leader that kinda forces you to use air with hawks and freeze bomb. Her ability lets you dominate at the start with higher tech units and an army of hawks kills everything. Enemy has vampires? Just freeze em. The only downside is the hawks are basically glass cannons and the Gremlins are trash 5. Regret regret regret Regret ever using this character. Regret having the final upgrade make him easy for vampires and wolverines. Regret his beam being so big I kill my own units. Regret having elite honor guards. The prophet is shit but better then forge and here's why. The elite honor guards aren't actually to bad and can take down a scarab because they are to close. Them cloaking is amazing when all of a sudden BAM 20 elites at your base. 6.warthog guy Heavy supply pads mean nothing at about 5 minutes into game. Grizzlys are just better then scorpions,JUST. Cyclops are actually trash. (Fun fact, did you know that when cyclops grab something if you retarget them they can hit air by throwing what ever they grabbed. I never got to play Halo Wars multiplayer so these were just based on my games against the AI. I also vastly preferred UNSC to Covenant. I liked UNSC's vehicles more (I rarely used infantry) and the only Covenant unit I actually liked was the Scarab (though Locusts could be fun too). I struggled to learn the Covenant buildings too so that probably has something to do with me generally disliking them as a faction. 1. Forge (I didn't know his Grizzly's weren't actually better than the Scorpions and I loved his heavy supply pads from the initial build. Less time spent upgrading and a lot more resources around) 2. Cutter 3. Anders (I didn't care for her special units and usually picked the other two UNSC before her unless I wanted a "challenge" by using a leader I wasn't as adept with) 4. Arbiter 5. Brute Chieftan 6. Prophet
It's because they're not worse, this dude is bullshiting. They have more health and they attack twice as fast with their main gun, their canister shells are virtually the same, this dude doesn't know what he's talking about.
Was agreeing until you put Anders second. Anders is easily the best leader in the game. Spartan tanks with gremlins rinse ground units and hawks dominate the sky. Once Anders gets rolling there is nothing you can do to stop her. Cutter has one niche that is easy to stop.
On pc, the arbiter is borderline unplayable because you can't click enemies correctly, and the pathing is dummy stupids. Even when clicking on targets, the game is telling me the tooltips to target an enemy because the game simply cannot comprehend the idea of targeting correctly lol

@@holaps7620 The system works great for controller, but is clunky on mouse & Keyboard. However, M&K Still has the advantage of quick select and freedom of motion. The game is easier to play due to that fact.
I think the only leader you can definitively say is better than the others is Cutter, all the others are fairly balanced except for the Prophet who's underpowered. You're definitely wrong about the scorpion vs grizzly thing, grizzlys have more health and fire twice as fast with their main gun, their canister shells are pretty much the same. You also didn't touch on their unique units at all. A huge part of Forge is having a healer and strong base destroyer rolled into one unit that costs one pop. The Gremlin is also really great, so is the Elephant obviously. Arbiters suicide grunts are the most op thing about him imo, definitely the best unique covenant unit, they do absolutely absurd amounts of damage.
Allow me to solve this. A video about grizzly vs scorpion was done on this very channel. Go watch it and see the results yourselves rather than spout nonsense on either side. The whole thing was done as scientifically as possible (single tanks each or max pop of them each, no outside interference whatsoever. No veterancy either. Pure base stats of the upgrades.) Gonna have to find it again. Might take a bit Correction: it was 2 videos. Both vs wraith. 10 *unupgraded* scorpion tanks won against fully upgraded wraiths in the same number. As for the grizzly....well you can go watch for yourselves. I'm not your search bar.
I'm so bad at strategy against real people. I beat the campaign and skirmish legandary AI, but have never won a game in match made multiplayer. Was fun playing against friends though. Won most of the time against them. I had a strategy as Anders. Half army of Wolverines and half army of gremlins. That covers air, vehicles, and infantry. Once I got that rolling I was unstoppable.
It depends on what you are playing too. I think Prophet is much better in 2v2s and that's what I primarily play. I'm actually not a Cutter fan, never had much of an issue playing against him. Anders, Prophet and Arbiter I think are better than the other three.
1.cutter - elephant rushes into spartan tanks with mac support 2. Brute chieftain - good health and great against spartan tanks and buildings with the vortex, the only covy leader that isn't forced to run when when a disruption bomb is dropped. Good early game with the op brute squads. Rush with them and lead it into banshees or wraiths and its very hard to deal with. 3. Arbiter - when fully upgraded he can solo an enemy scarab. The only covy who gets veterency from his leader power kills. A great way to sneak up on bases, scout them while cloaked and than warp a whole army were you see fit. While ill admit he's weak once a disruption bomb goes down, supporting him with a wall of hunters to deal with scorpions and infantry and than vampires to stun any air he cant attack usually gets me out of those situations. If going against an all covenant leader team he's by far the best leader in the game. 4. prophet- useless against covenant do to vampires, elite honor guards suck 5. forge- grizzlies aren't worth it cyclopses are trash 6. Anders- gremlins are trash hawks are trash.

Gremlins are valuable support unit as long as you're good a micro managing. Arby is honestly way too easy to deal with: Spartan Scorpions can eat him for breakfast and if you have air units you can troll the enemy, just let him jump on something, fly over a hill/mountain and watch him insta-die when he detaches from that unit lol.

Yea Arby and Forge without a doubt are top 2. That's all I used to run in full Gen lobbies. Arby can literally solo armies if you know what you're doing and the heavy supply from Forge was straight up busted for warthog rush into scorps. Cutter players got destroyed every game. ODSTs lmfao
1 Cutter Best late Game, Good rush 2 Brutes Great Late Game, Good rush 3 Arbiter Great with Rush, good late game 4 Anders Great with Rush, decent late game 5 Prophet ? Worst rush. Okay late game. 6 Forge ? Okay rush. Worst late game I mean depending on what you are gonna do depends on the leader you choose. Just forge and prophet are bad ones the other is just your choice for rush or late game/UNSC or Covenant.
Which is better rush. Arbiter with suicide grunt. Or Anders fast upgrades Like if the rush fails Anders is in better position but in the Middle to late game Arbiter has the upper hand over Anders.
