Some things to note about the items: 75. *Boomerang* gets stronger the more times you throw it. 70. *Food* is really useful for certain spirit combinations, but with spirits off, it really isn't that useful. 65. *Pitfall* will meteor anyone it hits in the air, which can be useful for gimping recoveries. 61. *Hothead* can be "powered up" while you are still holding it, making it really useful in team battles with items on. 58. *Bumper* is great for Ledge Trapping as it can prevent them from getting up until it disappears, it also has a much larger hurt box than most players expect. 36. *Death's Scythe* will cause characters to glow with purple fog if they are able to be instant KO'd by this weapon. It's usually around 90%+ which makes it really useful in team battles. The item is really great for taking out annoying heavies like K.Rool and has less wind-up and more range than most striking weapons. 34. *Lip's Stick's* Flower can be mashed off and grows when hit by the Stick again, the larger the flower, the more damage you'll take, but the easier it becomes to mash off your head. 30. *Bomber* is like the Bomb-omb and will start moving on its own if left alone, unlike the bomb it can still be picked up while moving, but will explode if it attacked while in this state. Also, if it comes to an edge of a floating platform, it will fall off and instantly explode upon touching the ground. 23. *Beastball* also returns opposite to the direction you threw it at an opponent, meaning if you throw down, it will appear from the ground upwards, throwing upwards will cause it to shoot downwards, left will appear right and vice versa. Like the Soccerball and most assist trophies, it will appear back on stage if it isn't fully used up, so you don't typically have to worry about fetching it again. 18. *Maxim Tomato* does count as food unlike the Heart, Healing Sprout or Fairy Bottle, which means it can power-up your characters using certain spirit combinations. 16. *Lightning* can back-fire by making you tiny, making you grow larger, or making your opponents grow larger. 14. *Hammer* and Super Hammer can be countered by opponents that have counterattacks with good timing, so be wary. Also, if the Hammer is knocked from your hand, you'll get another full cycle from the item, unlike other smash games. Do note, that if you fall off stage, you won't be able to recover if it activates while you're holding it. 11. *Bullet Bill* can be tilt targeted just as you use it, to hit opponents directly above and below you.

The AI always fall for the Home Run bat. Even level 9 CPU and level 50 Amiibo!

You don’t know how fun and frustrating these items are when playing World of Light, they can’t really help you a lot when fighting against harder spirits or are a nightmare when they use items on you.

The boomerang becomes more powerful if used correctly You may wanna rank it at least slightly higher.

After playing World of Light, I now have a huge appreciation for the Ore Club. I've heard how people find this annoying but I love using it on opponents

Boomerang actually gets stronger the more times you throw it. Plus bomb blasts don't harm the fighter who throws them anymore.

Can you start putting the music you use in the description? There's nothing more frustrating than hearing a nice or familiar tune and not quite being able to recognize it.

Fun fact: If you throw the Star rod at someone, the knockback is crazy at relatively high percents

I feel like a tier list would be better suited for this than a linear ranking system. It also seems like the criteria you use for the items is somewhat inconsistent. I would have personally tiered the items based on whether they hurt you as much as the opponent, whether they deal a large amount of damage, whether they're easy to avoid, and whether they disrupt the fight in your favor. For instance, I rank the boomerang quite highly. Not because of its damage output (which increases each time its thrown) but because it creates an extra obstacle for your opponent and can be used to create space or disrupt combos. I would rate the special flag as a bottom tier item since its only effect is immobilizing you and its only benefit is that you get a free hit on anyone stupid enough to try using it.

3:55 tbh i can see this item being super useful for players with more experience. a lot of characters actually attack from behind and not the front to approach because a lot of forward aerials are laggy in comparison to back airs, plus with the RAR technique. this item is definitely super useful if you know how to use it

I wish we would've gotten the drone from ARMS as an Item; healing field, FS-Meter field, a bomb and a shock-bomb in one single Item! I guess this could've also been the only item that could've been accapted for competitive play, since it is not too random nor overpowered and is also mostly enabled in ARMS during Tourneys (as far as I know). Would've also been the only Item, that would've affected the FS-Meter!

I agree that an individual shot from the steal diver is easy to avoid, however you can spam shots and can create a devastating ledge trap

With the ore club, you can tap shield to make the gust of wind go away, and without major damage to your shield, so I think that many people over-estimate the hell out of this item when it comes to how good it is.

Boomerang is op in the adventure mode tho.

Some of the items that can hurt you are actually really good while using Kirby or King Dedede. You can inhale your enemy and launch them into an explosive to KO them.

Got to the 2nd entry and am already confused. That boomerang is AMAZING, especially if you can get multiple going at once. I guess its because i"m a Link main and am used to the mechanic, but this item always seems to work out for me.

Hey, I have an anecdote defending the Fake Smash Ball! You can utilize the FSB to your advantage if you're not an idiot. I was playing Zelda, and I was fighting Dark Samus. A Fake Smash Ball appeared on stage, I used Din's Fire, the FSB broke, Dark Samus was standing right next to it, and guess what? Victory ish moine!

Once I did this hilarious thing to my friend with the star... So my friend only had brawl and didn’t really know what the star did and he was at 120% so I told him to come over, used the star and flew up into the air, he went off the stage, he recovered, a bumper spawned in before he recovered then the second he got up onto the stage again I threw the bumper into his face and... *G A M E*

Love this list! Though, I can't help but feel you really underestimated the Banana Gun. I'd put it around 20's due to the fact, that yes, even though its a little slow, its still very powerful, and you get a free banana to throw at them after you fire.

Gust Bellow is the only item I turn off when having items on due to the sheer bullshit it contains. It literally is way too unfair and not at all satisfying.

Smart Bomb used to be one of my favorite items back when I played Brawl years ago. :D I don't know it just feels satisfying to launch a huge explosion at your enemy with him not being able to escape. Plus the sound it makes when it explodes "Fzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzsshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-ooooooooooooo!!!!" as for Ultimate I wish I could say the same thing but I never played it before.

With the Daybreak and/or the Dragoon parts, whenever you are in team battles, the player who collects the last Daybreak and/or Dragoon part will be able to use the said weapon. This didn't happen in Brawl. Only on Smash 4 & 5.

When you charge a forward smash while having a ore club, you gain a super armor(or heavy, I forgot)

Rocket Belts are also useful for other things. I was playing a 4-player free-for-all on Mushroomy Kingdom. I was Pikachu. I used a Rocket Belt to fly above the fighters and keep myself from being left in the Blast Zone as the stage scrolled. Also, the Bumper is amazing and someone always ended up hitting it when I used it in Brawl.

Pitfalls are useful as they spike. Meaning Z-droping them while edge-guarding is a good way to cover additional options.

Back shield can be useful when you charging up a move, such as Kirby's hammer. You turn around as a mindless spirit tries to attack you even though you have a shield in the back of you as you charge your hammer then you turn back around as soon as it's done being charged and knock your opponent.

Assist trophy is the worst because shovel knight is in it instead of being playable

Yeah if you are playing with items the babe or any kind of reflector become pretty broken, it makes so many items near useless unless the badge falls of or the opponent messes up on their timing

For the smoke bomb it can hide your move if your playing with others, such as Kirby’s hammer

Fun trick for the Fake Smash Ball (if you can’t tell if it’s real or not). If your character has a projectile or far reaching attack, hit it. If it’s fake, it’ll explode and most likely hit people around it. If it’s real, you get a final smash, it’s a win-win

I like all the items including the ones that ko opponents fast.
